so, I came into town for a week a couple months ago and wanted to try this place out because I love the "it looks bland on the outside, but the food is great" vibe. I travel alot and thats how most places are and how Ive found some of the BEST food! sadly I really wasnt blown away, I tried the cuban, and a salad. it was an alright sandwich is it the best? no but its a sandwich, but the lettuce in my salad was wilty and a little gooy, such a bummer. the outside kind of matched the food on this one, just meh. Great lunch. Check out the cheese pull on that grilled cheese! Surprisingly child friendly lunch spot. My husband and I both enjoyed nice sized lunch salads and their tea was great! Will be back.

This place is absolutely fantastic!! We ordered the Cuban Pressed sandwich with the French Onion soup bowl, and the Ham and Cheese Pressed sandwich with the Cream Of Mushroom soup. Everything was delicious beyond words, and great portion sizes. Also a good deal, as we got the half and half special, and it included a drink and a mini yummy dessert to top off off the meal. In Sanford to pick up my husband at the airport. We drove into downtown to find a late lunch spot. Happened onto The Corner Cafe. What a fantastic random pick! “Chef” Michael is extremely RUDE!! Do NOT go here!!!!! He would not allow us to sit down while we looked over the menu before ordering. He’s a rudest man I’ve ever met. We explained that we were not ready to order as yet and we were looking over the menu and we would get back up an order at the counter and he told us no we could not do that. Owner or guy at the front who makes the “amazing” soup is very aggressive & rude. He tries to explain the menu when the menu is self explanatory, he’s obnoxious and screams. He also gasses up the food like it’s amazing food when the food is not very good. When other people came in to order, we moved out of the way so they could see the menu and order because we weren’t ready to order but we were told we aren’t allowed to move the from order counter until we ordered. When we said “OK” and gave him a strange look he proceeded to say “you need to stay up here because that’s our system and we are sticking with it” so we threw down our menus and left. He needs to be put in the back cooking or something because all he does is run off customers. I know plenty of people who have had the same experience with him and they either left or won’t ever be back. He needs to learn some customer service skills!! This was our second time going there & the first time we went the food was not good at all, very, very bland like they forgot the seasoning… we decided to give them another try but he was very rude and abrasive so we left and won’t ever be going back again, I’m sure the food would have been terrible again if we stayed.
