The cookies, cakes, and pastries from this cute satellite cafe from the large bakery in Troy are of the same excellent quality as the larger shop, just in a much more limited quantity. The Cookie Factory still sells some old favorites from their precursor, like the dragon cookie, and I find myself going back time and time again, against my better judgment. Call ahead and order cakes for any special occasions, as they sell out very fast in the store. The advance planning will be well worth it, as will the relatively high price of the items. Fresh, sweet, and the staff are always friendly and ready to make you a fresh cup of coffee to go with your pastry or confection. The Cookie Factory is a very good bakery, but you need to get the right items. The best food here is the glazed doughnuts, chocolate chip cookies, and the hard rolls. The glazed doughnuts are sweet, soft, and melt in your mouth. The chocolate chip cookies are crunchy and sweet as well. Also, the hard rolls are crispy and flavorful and are great for sandwiches. In contrast, I definitely recommend staying away from the cake here. I tried the chocolate cake, it was dry and the frosting was over the top sweet. I needed a gallon of milk to get it down. Decadence. On a level almost beyond my comprehension.I stopped here before Christmas thinking that these things would be a great thing to give to those people in your life that do the little stuff. Like your mechanic, your mailman, your gym folks, etc. Just a small plate of my appreciation for a job well done. And the Factory does not disappoint. I got several trays of cookies for what I feel was a very reasonable price. Everyone was appreciative. And I was not significantly lighter in the wallet. Having had their cookies at work a few times, I needed to stop in and see what it was all about. I stopped in with the lady prior to a snowstorm to get some "Snowed in" supplies. The smell of bakery hit me as soon as we opened the door. Alas, it is not just cookies they do here. Cakes, pies, doughnuts, breads. They do alot of things and they do them well. We walked in just looking for a small assortment of cookies, and we left with cookies, cakes, eclairs, cupcakes, you name it. Way more than we could possibly consume in a weekend. We shopped for 20 minutes just on the cookie case!!!It was ALL spectacular. The stand outs for me? The triple chocolate cake with mini chocolate chips on it. The cannoli cake. And something they call "The Christopher". It's two butter cookies with peanut butter between them and coated in chocolate. MAN was that thing was excellent. And, for the finisher? I placed an order for 120 cookies 1 day before I needed them and they were able to accommodate me. The staff was friendly and my office was really excited that I brought "Cookie Factory Cookies" in as a thank you. I thought the cookies were sweet, soft and delicious! The store itself was really nice. Tons of variety and easy to get to. I thought the prices were reasonable and placing my order over the phone was easy. Solid 5 stars for me, but I will say these cookies are SWEET. Like fatally sweet. That's ok for me, but want to add that caveat for those who prefer a more traditional less sweet cookie. More...

Less than a month before our wedding we decided to change our wedding cake plans and to go with The Cookie Factory because we cant resist their famous fudge filling. They were able to accommodate us so last minute and made the most amazing wedding cake we have ever tasted! One of our favorite things they do is give you four cupcakes to taste at home which allows you not to feel pressured. We were able to try the different combinations and found our favorite- the famous fudge filling with a thin layer of raspberry jam on their delicious white cake! We did our consultation with Christina and she completely understood exactly what we were looking for and our vision for our wedding cake. She answered any and all questions we had without hesitation. Our cake had a floral topper and loose flowers along the side of the cake. When we picked up the flowers from the florist that morning we were not pleased with how they looked. Christina could tell we were very stressed about this and ensured us she would fix it for us and make the cake look beautiful- even if that meant adding some of her own fake flowers from the shop. She was able to clean up the flowers, added some color, and arranged them so they looked beautiful! The cake tasted amazing and all of our guests loved the flavor combination we chose. The one surprise we weren't expecting was the extra cake that was delivered. Very thoughtful and much appreciated!!! Instead of saving the top layer of our wedding cake we decided to save the extra cake and cant wait to cut into it next year on our anniversary! Thank you so much for a job well done!!! Years ago my boyfriend at the time and I would stop here for a special treat the fudgey cookie sandwiches. After I moved away, I would still occasionally visit Troy and Cookie Factory was/is always on my list of nostalgic places to visit. It's the perfect place to pick up a cake or chocolate dipped strawberries for an event. Or grab a container of those yellow cookies with fudgey tops to bring home on the airplane.
