I and my husband found the Cake Boutique from a referral when we were planning our wedding 10 years ago. We immediately fell in love and knew Birdie was the perfect match for what we wanted our wedding cake to be on our special day. I had a unique request to use paper flowers in our wedding colors to embellish the cake, and the Cake Boutique was the ONLY bakery (out of several that we had consulted with) that was more than happy to include my handcrafted flowers on the cake.Our wedding cake was perfect and more beautiful than we had envisioned! The Cake Boutique gave me exceptional customer service and a fantastic looking, moist & yummy birthday cake for my husband.  I called Birdie's shop after Albertsons kindly told me I could only use their pre-existing cake designs.  Though I was not yet a paying customer, Birdie did not hesitate to help me build a custom cake by asking me to email her the image of what I was looking for.  Afterward, she took the time to walk me through certain things like which search words to use so that I could find the best example of the exact cake I wanted.  Our subsequent communications and payment transaction were prompt and timely.  Though I had never met Birdie face-to-face, she made the process so smooth for me all the way from California! - we were only flying into Albuquerque for a few days for my husband's surprise party.  Thank you so much Birdie for a great experience and an amazing cake product! When I walked in the atmosphere was so welcoming. It had a fun and energetic feeling to the look. I was immediately greeted BY NAME! I had called a little over a week ago to make an appointment and when I walked in today the owner was expecting me. She listened to all my ideas, specific wants and plans and then gave me her artistic ideas which helped put my whole project together. An overall great experience with today’s appointment. What an amazing experience! Me and my now husband were referred to The Cake Boutique by our wedding planner. They quickly got back to us via email and were easily reached by phone. Birdie was amazing to work with and their cakes, well they are simply delicious! We had the red velvet with cream cheese filling and marble with chocolate ganache. It just so happened to be a relatives birthday the same day as our wedding and Birdie was able to make a lovely little birthday cake in addition to our wedding cake. Without a doubt the best cake shop in Albuquerque! The Cake Boutique made a graduation cake for my wife and it was the best cake we have ever had! Not only was the cake out of this world but the customer service that Birdie and Monica provide is absolutely exceptional! I will admit, I requested some changes to the cake after I placed my order and they were more than willing to accommodate my requests. I love this place and I cannot wait to place my next order. Amazing!! Birdie made and delivered our wedding cake for our May 4, 2017 wedding. She was amazing, from start to delivery she was a professional and easy to talk with. Sadly the only piece of cake I was able to eat at the wedding was the piece that was fed/shoved in my face at the cake cutting by my husband. It was still amazing!! The Cake Boutique was our best wedding vendor by far! The cake was perfect, actually better than expected! We got more compliments on the cake than anything. Birdie (the owner) was super easy to deal with and extremely flexible. The florist (we used real flowers for the cake) had car trouble and would not be able to get the flowers to the venue on time. Birdie actually waited around until the flowers arrived just so we could get the flowers put on the cake. We were also planning the wedding from out of town so Birdie worked with us so we could do our cake tasting last minute before the wedding. Additionally, I (the bride) found out about a week before the wedding that I could no longer eat gluten. Birdie went to Whole Foods and purchased 4 GF cupcakes just so I could have GF cupcakes on the day of- and didn't even charge us for them. She also put her amazing chocolate mousse frosting on one of them because I told her I was in love with that. I highly recommend The Cake Boutique for any cake. If I am ever back in ABQ or know of anyone there looking for a cake shop, I will tell them to look no further because its not possible to beat the service here. More...

What can I say, the Cake Boutique was absolutely amazing. I’m so glad I decided to go with them for our daughters baby shower. We had such high expectations as it was our first grand baby and wanted everything to come out perfect. They where so professional and offered a very relaxed atmosphere. We disgust what we had in mind, and they took it to a whole new level. We decided to have them make us the cake as well as cupcakes. Birdie provided the grooms and wedding cake. Both were awesome! My grooms cake was a steelers helmet (looked so real) while our wedding cake came out perfect. We're from out of town and birdie was flexible and met with us at our convenience to let us try all the cakes and frosting and design our own cake. I gave her a rough idea of what I wanted and showed her examples on Pinterest but her creativity and quality of work went above and beyond what I imagined. I absolutely love Birdie! Her cakes are amazing she is by far the best in town. She's been making cakes for me for years. Including my wedding cake back in 2012 . She has very reasonable prices especially for the amount of work she puts into her cakes. I wouldn't go anywhere else if you are looking for a wedding cake or a specialty cake for any occasion. Birdie was great! We met up with her for a cake tasting for our wedding cake and she was so fun to talk to and gave a great presentation. After having a long day of going from appointment to appointment she really turned the mood around. Her cake fillings were bomb and made up for her a little on the dry side cake which I think is the norm for the Albuquerque dry heat. To be fair the cake flavors I chose were probably not the best since I didnt know what was good until I started going to cake tasting appointments but I will say that the red velvet was the first one that actually tasted like red velvet from the 3 other appointments we had that day. Birdie was fantastic! We made an appointment for cake tasting at Birdie's shop and fully expected to have to pay a fee since some of the other places were charging for tasting. There was no fee and we tasted a variety of cakes, fillings and the icing. Birdie worked within our budget by suggesting we could even have a traditional wedding cake but that not all of the layers had to be "real" cake. We chose a 4 layer wedding cake with only the third layer being actual cake. The day of the wedding it looked beautiful and you would never have known it was not all cake. She also made us 2 sheet cakes. We were able to have 3 different flavors and nobody knew that some of them were sheet cakes. All of the cake was moist and flavorful and the fillings were amazing! Monica and Birdie did an absolutely amazing job with our wedding cake! After going to a few different tastings, hands down the Cake Boutique had the most delicious flavors and on top of that, the prices were the best in town! Working with Birdie was one of the easiest parts of wedding planning.  We wanted an assortment of vegan cupcakes for 130 guests.  They could have said they'd never done that before and sent us somewhere else, but instead Birdie bought a vegan cupcake book and proceeded to test bake our top choices to make sure we'd be happy with the final product.  I think she genuinely wanted our feedback and responded really well to the whims of the bride and groom.  The cupcakes were devoured and we got compliments afterward.  I'd happily recommend her to others looking for vegan cakes, or people just looking for good customer service.
