I know a number of local performers and filmmakers who have hosted events here, and I appreciate any bar that supports the art scene this way. Drinks can be a little pricey and you should expect the dress code to be enforced, but we don't have enough bars in LA with a smoking patio- Bronson bar does.  They have a projection screen that they really put to use, and often host live music. Check with them that they aren't having a private event before you invite folks to come woop it up with you- they were doing a game of thrones screening once when I went there with friends to get away from the GOT hype- we eneded up going elsewhere. I have no idea where you would park to get there if you weren't walking. Its located on the bottom floor of a motel-turned-apartments next to a  Mobile gas station on Sunset. The door guys are usually really nice. More...

One of my favorite dive bars to go to! There's usually something happening there every night they're open, and it's always a cool unpretentious vibe to go have a drink and listen to music. Love the Bartenders in there especially Linda she's so awesome and always remembers my favorite drink. And Patrick is awesome too! I frequent the weekends more especially when they have the Baked Beats old school night. If you're looking for somewhere cool, it's definitely a hidden gem! More...

Always good vibes, the best music and the nicest bartenders in LA.  Linda Lou and Patrick always ready with a smile and quick service even with my crazy custom drink requests like the skinny girl old fashion! Favorite bar, especially on a Saturday when Baked Beats is happening. You can go alone or with your friends, it's small, dark, good music, unpretentious, nice vibe.  Bartenders are always on it, I never wait long for a drink even when it's crowded, especially if Linda is there.  She remembers what you like, pours well and seems to keep calm when the small bar gets packed, she's the best! Always a good time, def recommend going to Bronson. More...

At first, my bestfriend was apprehensive about the bar because we walked past the darkness. I would say it was almost romantic, but I think it was creating more of a mysterious dive vibe. It was rather really comfortable, and a relaxed environment. They showed an 80s Jim Henson film called the Crystal and it was batshit weird. The bartender was a nice lady and the drinks were cheap. The DJ was setting up as we decided to leave the bar, but we almost stayed. I think he had to leave because we still needed to get to the South Bay from Hollywood. I would recommend it, and I would want to come back on Thursday. More...

Historic place, great drinks, considering where it's located, the prices weren't bad either .I go on Thursday nights because there is a FREE comedy show, which was the reason I went for the first time and I had a BLAST, there was a lot of good comedians that went up, I was in tears. Happy hour from 5-8pm!  What else does one need in a local dive bar?  The crowd is poppin later in the night and they always have a baseball or football game on for those that need a "I can't drink without sports playing".  Two of my gal pals and I checked it out on a Friday night and had great drinks at reasonable prices with no hassle.  There was standing room only when we left so come early if you want to snag a booth or happy hour. I found myself walking down sunset after enjoying quite a spectacular concert at the Hollywood Bowl. I had determined it was time to call it a night, but I heard the sweet sound of blues oozing through the slightly cracked door of the bar. Compelled to determine the source of this soul infused melody I opened the door. To my delight a band stood not six feet from the door, with each of it's members entranced by the  music they were crafting collectively. I sat at the bar and ordering a bourbon. The service was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. My fellow audience members were caught in the vibe facilitated by the band. Everyone was having a great time and all types were enthralled by the raspy voice of the performer and the harmonica he wielded with great skill. Having only been here once and residing far from this fine establishment, it is unlikely I will be a regular. However, I will certainly be making many a pilgrimage back for the ambiance, the music, and the drinks. More...

"The Bar"... "Cocktails"... "Bronson Bar"... Whatever. It was cool and not too expensive (for LA, that is - about $10/mix drink and $7/beer). Small place, nice bartenders, DJ setup. There are a few cute booths along the walls for groups to sit together, and an intimate patio out back with dimensions I'd probably be better guessing at than describing (it extends out about 14 feet but it's only maybe 3 or 4 feet wide... Don't go out there if you don't smoke haha). More...

It's not that big but has very high ceilings so you feel like you're in a large space. The crowd was very chill and it didn't get over crowded which I really liked. They had PBR cans for $4 which was so awesome for a bar on Sunset in Hollywood. Almost unheard of actually. There were also really good DJ's spinning that kept the place lively. I came here for DEATHWISH - a DJ event that took place on St. Patrick's Day. No cover charge, cool! Owner at the door, taking a few minutes to talk to each and every person, even mingling inside with the attendees, I loved that. Reserved tables for the promotors (one of which is my dude and the other a friend) right next to the turntables. Great drink specials! $3 PBRs and $5 Jameson (mixed drinks or double shots), SCORE ! The ambiance is very cool: red, filigree wallpaper, dim lit wall sconces, black tables and comfy, leather booths. Layout allowed for enough room for traffic and no discomfort having to sit too close to your table. There's a hallway for smoking, which is cool. The bathroom was strange - had a laundry-type door that you slid open and closed, but hey. It's a dive bar! And I loved it. The DJs were great, they even had the crowd dancing. I had a damn great time, got loaded too! Good times with good friends. I hope to see DEATHWISH back again next month! More...

The BAR (as opposed to A BAR) was a pleasant surprise to me. When I think bar I think, crowded, loud, strobe lights, rude bartenders and inflated ego's of the bar patrons. This place only had a few of these. The lucky thing is that it was all the good stuff. The music was loud but it was a great selection! It was kinda crowded but it was more in the smoking area I think. As for inside, we had our own reserved area (Ooh la la Kat A.) with cozy corner leather booth. I loved and appreciated the ceiling fans. BIG plus that a turtle balloon was floating around. The lighting was nothing short of romantic. Dark and warm and soothing. I didn't know they had bars like these. Even the bouncer (greeter?) was an older gentleman who was very no nonsense and knowledgeable. As I was waiting for my friends outside he stared going into the history of the place and it was awesome. I think this might have been the most relaxed (there for best) bar I've been to as of yet! I dig this place- went just the other weekend on a Saturday night.  No obnoxious asshole bouncer, just a chill dude that didn't give me any hassle when I drunkenly wandered out of the bar, drink still in hand.  Instead of being all douchey about it, he just looked at me significantly and pointed at my hand.  "Oooh, right." I said guiltily, and sashayed my way back inside. In all seriousness though, this place is way better than I thought it was going to be.  No line, no cover, cheap stiff drinks (although in my seriously drunken state I forgot to tip the bartender- I'm sorry!
