We really enjoy eating here. The atmosphere is great and the patio is a great place to sit. The service is always solid. Unfortunately, the food can be hit and miss. Sometimes we have great meals and sometimes we have very disappointing meals. Undercooked itemsI really wish there was more consistency to the meals, as it would easily be a 5 star review instead.(updated)They have really improved their consistency and now we are back to fan status. The Barley Hound is a must while in Prescott! It was conveniently located next to the Hotel Vendome (where we stayed) so we just walked over when they opened. We were welcomed immediately by the waiters when we walked in. We were the first customers since we showed up a little after 11am so we got a nice seat by the window area. It was warm and cozy even though it was cold outside. My husband ordered their French Press Coffee and I got a delicious Mexican Coke and immediately put in an order for an appetizer. I ordered the Return of the Mac and it was DELICIOUS! I could have ate two, instead of ordering an entree, because it was that good. For the entree, my husband and I both got their Merica Burger (no that isn't a typo!) and we both really enjoyed it. I especially loved the fries that came with the burger. They were thick cuts of potatoe and cooked to perfection! Brown on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I didn't try the truffle fries which I read a lot of reviews about. The regular fries were good enough for me! Overall, the food was great! The service was wonderful! And I am definitely going back when I am in Prescott again! This was my first time here. My date and I arrived on a quiet Sunday night about 40 minutes before close and surprisingly, we had the place to ourselves. The staff was great and made us feel right at home. We shared excellent deviled eggs,  shishito peppers and a beautiful beet salad appetizers before our delicious burgers arrived. While up in Prescott we had a night out and decided to try this place since it had a great outdoor area for a big group. First picture was of the duck burger which is kind of hard to see but I promise was amazing. It was something that they are known for and it was very unique and flavorful. Second picture was the veggie burger which was well done as well and came with a side of the house fries. Third picture shows the blistered shishito peppers which are always a favorite of mine. I get them as much as I can and these were awesome. Fourth picture were the deviled egg special for the night which came with these little poppers on them that had some spice to them. This is the spot!We loved this place so much we came here twice in the two days we stayed in Prescott.The people that work here are rad! Second night we had a large group of 20ish people that they were up front about needing more time to make food etc. for us. Appreciate the being honest and keeping the adult bevs flowing!Food was next level for price point! Whisky and beer selection was great too. We will make the trip to come back for sure. The Barley Hound was such a fun restaurant to visit in Downtown Prescott! The energy here is so magical. I came here on a sunny Saturday and sat in their beautiful outdoor area. I was pleased to find that they had a few solid vegan options! I initially ordered a vegan burger with a gluten free bun, but was sad to find that the burger contains panko bread crumbs and the fries are fried in duck fat. Being allergic to wheat that was not an option, but my waitress was super accommodating and went out of her way to make sure there was something I could eat!Instead I went with a delicious quinoa bowl that contained tofu that tasted exactly like orange chicken. I do not know how they did it but it was incredible! If the fries were fried in any other oil I would have easily eaten an entire portion as they looked heavenly! More...

It was good I liked how it was dog friendly but the food took so long at least an hour for my burger also one of the waitresses told me my dog had to be on the floor he sat beside me due to the fact the there were small sliders and ants in the floor but overall I loved it also loved the outside patio will come again for sure regardless if the food took an hour .

Excellent meal and service. The place is sweet, with lights strung outside and flower planters. I had a YUMMY Manhattan-like cocktail, beet & herbed goat cheese salad and a deviled egg. They top the deviled eggs with a new tiny topping each day. It was Thai green curry, pork belly and coconut the day we went. Sounds weird but it's a tiny garnish and it was great! So guys......., this is one of those top-notch, high-caliber, tell-a-friend-or-the-world, type of places! Tell your mama, please! I have been here on a number of occasions throughout the years, and I must say..., WOW! From the front porch to the back porch, I could not imagine a better location or layout. It is in the heart of the historical district, and right on, "main street." Their drinks are very high quality. It is a small, cozy, quaint, and quite romantic bar, they have. Server was VERY patient and spent a lot of time at our table explaining drinks and menu items.She was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations.  Ambience was awesome with fantastic music, cozy, dimly lit atmosphere. Only complaint was that they were sold out of several items and for the boyfriend they didn't have any standard sodas or the Jack Daniels he typically drinks. What a surprise! I found this place by using a pet friendly search (really like people who love their pets). The truffle fries (the chef uses duck oil) were crispy and flavorful outside, tender and delicious inside sprinkled with Parmesan and garlic. My burger was indescribable. Our waiter Kyle, a seasoned professional, passing all his secrets on to his trainee who can only hope to aspire to his level of expertise. And then the patrons both two and four legged.
