Food was so-so, happy hour drinks were a little more sour mix than they were happy, but the service was sooooo great, which can totally make up for a lackluster meal in some cases. I am severely allergic to pork and the entire staff accommodated me more in this tiny eatery in the mountains that most places in New Orleans! I wanted a smothered burrito, and a spicy, smothered burrito is what I got. Off the menu order -- add the tinga sauce to the top! WOW!Vegetarian hatch chili is available upon request! More...

If you like small, neighborhood restaurants with a great patio, wonderful food AND a food truck, you must try The Alley. Three friends and I attended a charity event The Alley sponsored Saturday and understand this type of community consciousness is an element of their business philosophy. While there, we had a chance to try some appetizers. They were excellent. The patio setting provided the perfect environment for visiting and enjoying the beautiful fall weather.  We'll be back!! In this day in age when so many people strive for mediocrity, the staff and owners of The Alley go out of their way to make this establishment exceptional. They arrive long before they open to make sure everything is perfect for their customer experience. The Food Truck cranks out some of the best guac, street tacos and one of a kind rellenos. They have fresh (not the frozen machine) made margs in a half dozen flavors and a fantastic line up of live music. Do not miss Float Like A Buffalo or the Delta Sonics! Aaron is so personable and compassionate about his job, and always makes me come back. Went on a Friday, got the $4 off Friday chicken fajitas and marveled at how perfect the meal was. Carmelized onion, red bell pepper and green chili strips with marinated chicken breast, 4 med tortillas, cheese, sour cream, guac, and pico. Perfect lunch. Solid Mexican in downtown Littleton. The server Mary was the bartender and was as friendly as could be. When I asked for a michelada she recommended a Tommyknockers chile beer that was great with the tomato juice and salt rim (a bit different than some traditional mucheladas but oh so drinkable) The menu is smallish but plenty of choices. We started with the chips and salsa trio. The verde was the hottest of the three we chose but not so hot its inedible. The mango was light and fresh and we paid $2 extra to have queso as our third choice. Definitely enough for 4 people and they refilled our chips once so we could get all the salsa in.For entree I went with the rellenos which are listed as an appetizer. They come two to an order and are rectangle fried goodness. The chile and cheese inside is very satisfying. I made it a meal by adding two sides. The only thing I wasn't impressed with were the sides. The green chile had heat but was watery (may have been better if smothered on a burrito) the rice was just ok and corn was decent but needed a little salt or seasoning to make it pop.We did opt for dessert and both the churros and soppapillas were good. You could choose one and that would feed 4-6 people. If you're in downtown Littleton and want good Mexican check out the Alley. More...

A BIG THANKS to The Alley Crew! A long but detailed post of our experience (from someone who never takes the time to post)I was looking for a great, and casual venue to plan my best friend's 50th birthday party (for about 30+ guests). The Alley had exactly what I was looking for: Great atmosphere, service, food, and entertainment! From the beginning of our experience, everything was "top notch".  My husband and I stopped in one Saturday to look around the restaurant and see if was a place that would work for the party. We were welcomed by Kris, who walked us through the banquet menu of reasonably priced appetizers (chili rellenos, pork/chick quesadillas, chips/guacamole/sour cream/salsa). She offered to block off the back of the restaurant for our private use. (On a side note:  I was told, The Alley is currently in the process of constructing a banquet room for these type of events). This was followed up with an agreement via email the next day, outlining the total cost of appetizers. We decided on a cash/credit bar. We were asked to put down a 1/3 deposit for the food in advance. 3 days before the event, I contacted Russ (the Manager/Owner) a bit nervous, as I forgot to send in the deposit. Once again, I was so pleased with the response I received. "No problem. We have you on the calendar, and look forward to seeing you on Saturday".  When we arrived to take care of the payment, we were told there was a slight error in the contract price, and it was a little less than anticipated. What company/restaurant does something like that these days. The day of the party, we had some cold/icy weather. Russ contacted me directly to see if the party was still on, and asked how we would like the back of the restaurant set up; Tables to sit down or tall tables for guests to stand and enjoy the finger food. We opted for option two for guests to be able to mingle but still have a place to put down their drinks/plates. He also let me know there would be enough extra food, if we needed to add to the order. The party went off "without a hitch". The service was fantastic! The food was good, set up in warmers on a small buffet table right before the guests started to arrive. Russ even brought out an extra table for the cake at our request). The wait staff was excellent and extremely attentive and polite (thank you Aaron and staff - My apologies for not recalling all of your names)To top off the party, we thoroughly enjoyed the live music! If you haven't seen "John Weeks" band, I highly recommend them ! The lead singer even thanked us for moving up to the front of the restaurant, as the crowd began to thin out at the end of the night. As mentioned above, I don't usually post reviews, but hope my information assists "The Alley" to continue with their success! If you are looking for a friendly staff, great service, and a fun venue to grab a drink, have a bite to eat, or to host a gathering, you won't be disappointed! The only thing missing from making it the perfect evening was the patio (but with 20 degree weather, we couldn't complain) But next week, I was told the back patio/porch will be covered. In the Spring/Summer, "The Alley" will be a great place to hang out during Happy  Hour or to enjoy a nice evening, relaxing by the fire pit.We will be back! Thanks again for helping us make this a fun and enjoyable 50th for Kathryn! Kind regards,Lynn & Larry More...

This establishment is easy to review: in a busy, Friday night milieu, the service was very good despite the dinner rush, the server was knowledgeable about the menu, and the food arrived hot and prettily presented in a reasonable timeframe. The style is distinctly a riff on standard Mexican fare with a bit of "fusion" with other styles, but it's made clear in the menu that this cuisine takes a nonstandard route to your tastebuds. We were seated on the patio in front of the brick-and-mortar storefront. The band coming in for the live show at eight PM started setting up at seven and were between the patio and the dining room proper. Despite this seeming bottleneck, the service staff was unaffected and made repeated trips to our isolated tables to check on patron satisfaction, take followup orders, refill beverages, and keep us from feeling excluded. I don't know that it would be standard for all the bookings, but the band members were cheerful and friendly, apologetic for encroaching on our space, and happily willing to chat with us as they completed their setup. The prices are not in the cheap category, but the inventive preparations and attractive presentation, coupled with the good service, qualify this little bistro for a place on our list of regular eateries. I was originally planning on bringing the fam to another Downtown Lakewood place for dinner, but everyone was more in the mood for Mexican.  Enter the Alley.  Fast, friendly service, delicious and perfectly portioned food!  They cook everything in the food truck out back (yup, in the alley) and have tables inside and out on a back patio.  Enchiladas, the burro, tacos, and nachos were all great!  My almost- mother-in-law even approved of their green chili (and THAT is saying something!)  Portions are smaller than other places, but leave a person very satisfied without being stuffed.  We'll definitely be back! I'm a little confused about the purpose of this restaurant.  It's probably the only cool thing in Littleton. It's a bar but they cook the food in a truck outside but still call themselves a restaurant.  I assume this is a way to get around certain building codes? They're a cocktail bar?  We didn't order cocktails because it was like 6:00 on a Wednesday and they were expensive (around $10-$12). They had some cool variations on originals but again, expensive. We ordered some chips & salsa.  The salsas & hot sauces were the star of the show.  The pico was good and flavorful and the seasonal was tasty.  The hot sauces were good and hot too!The tacos were pretty decent. A bit expensive for your basic street tacos.  They were good but nothing brain busting.  They had a bunch of other menu options but we stuck with tacos for the evening.  The service was good but seemed weird to have 1 poor guy running from the truck out back to the dining room.  What do they do if its raining? We had an excellent server and $3 PBRs.  We'll mostly likely come back to try other entrees.  Upshot, we'll probably come back because it's close and quick and the food hits the spot when you want a spicy taco and a cheap beer.
