This place is amazing. New Orleans themed bar/restaurant. I'm a Carolina Panther fan and would love to watch a NO vs. CAR football game. The service was great and had awesome recommendations. I wasn't too sure what the proportion sizes were like, but they're generous. My original order was the shrimp po boy with an appetizer, the bartender said it was too much and should just stick with the sandwich. They were right. It's rare that I don't finish what I order, and I'm glad I didn't order an appetizer. The shrimp po boy was amazing. the pulled pork sandwich just melts in the mouth. kinda hard to find. if you blink then you've missed it, but the food is worth the walk from the parking lot. portions are also very generous

My last review was an accident. I was mistaken and had not been to this location until tonight. I did however attend their other location. Tonight we went to our usual one on Horne inside the brewery, but it's apparently closed Mondays, so we ended up at this location. Same exact food! This is just more of a full service restaurant oppose to the other. Service was great, food was amazing. Restuarant decor was pretty cool. I was so amused by their bathroom art/photos, Lol. If you wear saints gear, any day of the year you get 1st draft beer free. So I guess they're saints fans! Also I noticed advertising on their ceiling. Good way to make additional income, I assume. This had so many reviews, we thought, we have to go! We ordered with the bar, (mike was awesome very relaxed and helpful), we ordered the dirty fries with pork and the fried chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese. The fries had cheese sauce on which, with my Mac and cheese that had the same sauce, was alittle much on cheese wise, but still good. The meet and fries were awesome and we got a side of ranch which helped with the cheese issue. That chicken sandwich.... was one the best ones I've ever had! Miss Kim's is set up like a hole in the wall bbq joint but located beach side in Oceanside. Street parking is free on Sundays. It was easy for me to find but I got lucky, parking on the street here looks very annoying. Inside decor is dive bar/smokehouse. Service was friendly. They have bar height tables in the middle and they have bar height high chairs to match. Never seen those before. Food came out pretty fast. They only have one restroom stall.They do run out of meat by lunch time. They had no brisket. Sunday they have drinks deals.Highlife - $2BBQ Bloody Mary - $6 - Decent bloody mary but comes with 2 rib bones on top.Chicken & Waffle - $7 - Chicken thigh was similar to store bought stuff. Waffle was crisp and fluffy, decent. Cornmeal Crusted Delta Catfish - $15 - Catfish nuggets fried well. Not overly oily. Comes with a ton of fries and cole slaw. Went during our annual Oceanside vacation. We got there 45 minutes before closing and had to wait a just a few minutes before being seated. Once we were seated, we definitely got the feeling of being rushed by our server. He was polite but very terse and seemed to want us to hurry up and get out. Have been there before but never tried the fried chicken before. It was truly amazing! Very moist and juicy with a great seasoned crispy coating. I got the fries and greens on the side. Was interested in trying the fries since other reviews have mentioned them. They were fine but nothing great in my opinion- soft and not lot of flavor. I remember the greens being better on our last visit but didn't care for them this time. The mac and cheese is very good though! Husband really wanted the brisket but they were out. I recommend getting there earlier in the day if you really want to try it. He got the pulled pork instead. He thought it was ok but nothing to rave about. I haven't actually eaten inside this restaurant but we've gotten take out now about 3 or more times. One thing I can always appreciate about a food establishment is consistency. And this place is it! I always crave one thing, and that's their dirty fries. They have fries, mac n cheese, pulled pork, bbq sauce and slices jalapenos. And they're amazing! Not to mention that for about $12 you can feed those fries to a family of 4 lol The portions are Texas size for sure. Our server Carolyne was amazing!! She took such great care of us. I asked her how the gumbo was because you can either do it right or do it WAY wrong. Instead of allowing me to take her word that it was delicious she brought me a sample so I could decide for myself. It WAS super good and I have had homemade, New Orleans Style gumbo more times than I can count. It wasn't on the homemade scale, but it did have a great flavor, spice and ratio of soup to goodie was really well matched! I wanted to make sure it was truly as amazing as the first time and I was correct.For $5 you can get 2 pork rib bones and a slice of the best corn beef you've ever tasted.For $16 you can get 2 pieces of the most succulent fried chicken thighs this side of the Mississippi and a couple of sides. I chose the collard greens and I'm glad I did! Flavor was on point and delicious with the crystal hot sauce. We sat at the bar and was assisted by Matt. What a great bartender and server!
