Teri is a great friend and we've know each other since our kids were babies living in Singapore! Now that everyone is grown up, Teri is helping us capture some family memories. I was introduced to Teri through a contact at business networking group. Teri was hosting a whole day headshot event, with all of the proceeds to benefit charity. A photographer after my own heart! Desperately needing a professional headshot for LinkedIn (I mean, who doesn't need one?) — how could I turn this opportunity down? It's simple. I couldn't.I had been to many a photoshoot, as is to be expected when working in marketing... but I had never been the subject before! Not knowing what to expect, I was a little nervous on my way there, but the moment I stepped in to Teri's studio, I was instantly put at ease. Teri has such a warm and welcoming personality and gave me such simple-to-follow directions that I could've sworn I had some long-lost modeling (ha!) background.We tried a number of different poses and although some felt silly at the time, she promised me they would come through like magic on the other end of the lens. After showing me a few snaps right on her camera... Boy, was she right. (Trust a professional — I know.) I walked away from the experience having had a whole lot of fun and as a bonus, felt good knowing I had also supported a very worthy cause.A few days later I received an email in my inbox with a whole gallery of photos to choose from and, I have to say, that was actually the hardest part of the whole process. Picking the photos I wanted! I couldn't settle on just two, so I bought 3 extra because Teri's work was just THAT good. She was really able to capture my personality in the images, which is exactly what I was looking for — not just some average stone-cold, stale headshot.Some shots were serious, some were classic, and some were playful. She captured me candidly: mid-laugh, chin tilted, head back — and it goes on and on. But the angles were GOOD. And we all LOVE a good angle. Thanks for photographing the best in me, Teri.
