Making the arrangements with AJ went very smoothly, and he was more flexible and nicer to deal with than other movers with a good review I'd almost used. He answered all my 3,225 questions with patience and good cheer. The move on 12/18/22, in the hands of the foreman John and helper, was efficient but not rushed. I was very pleased. The furniture has been in storage for almost 2 months, and when they bring it back on 12/5, I will have all new floors! I will be watching like a hawk, but truly believe John will do just as good a job as he did on 12/18. Of course if something doesn't go well, I'll update my review. More...

TDY has put my furniture into storage until my floors are repaired, so I can't yet swear to the condition of my things, but I watched John and his assistant pack everything up and was very impressed. They worked carefully and methodically, communicating about what needed to be done throughout the move. And A.J., the person who arranged the move with me, was patient, cheerful and forthcoming. We have moved several times over the years and usually there is always some "hiccup". Over charges, poor staff and loading/unloading to name a few. This was not the case with TDY last week. AJ Baker set up the entire contract, kept in touch and went the extra mile. The staff showed up on time, did the job in a short period of time and unloaded it after getting to the warehouse.There was no up charges, no mention of hidden fees or issues moving from A to B.I highly recommend them if your looking for a moving company. I scheduled a move with TDY at least three weeks in advance. Called multiple times to ask clarifying questions and modify schedule to a different date after the first of the month. Called to confirm the move a couple of times, once a week before and once the day before the move. The move was scheduled for 8am yesterday. We received a call from them at 7:58 am, two minutes before the move was supposed to begin saying that it was cancelled because one of the crew members tested positive for Covid the night prior. Obviously Covid is causing issue across industries however this is what made their service horrendous:1) the last minute nature of the call, 2 minutes before the job was supposed to start shows lack of care of the position they put us in2) lack of solution to find one other crew member to support move. It doesn't make sense for a company to not be able to operate if one of the crew isn't able to work3) when I called to encourage them to find a solution for us, whoever was answering the phones was completely apathetic, did not demonstrate any proactiveness to correct the company's mistake, said "what do you expect me to do, I'm just sitting in an office", and then actually hung up the phone on me when I was trying to hold them accountableThis was incredibly disappointing to leave us hanging such short notice when move outs and ins in nyc are so strict with little tenant control. These guys were alright. They just had to carry stuff down a flight of stairs out to my truck, which they did well. But when they packed my desk into the truck they put it face down which I am sure scratched the hell out of the desktop. Other than poor packing skills they hauled stuff out of here fine I suppose. Scammers... was quoted $285 to move a bed from Bushwig to Harlem.. The dudes tried to say it took 3 HOURS + 30 min waiting time? I checked the traffic it was a 50min journey & my old room mate said it took them less than 10 mins to pick everything up.THEY pushed into my apartment & demanded more money before they moved the bed into the apartment. I recently had to downsize from a house into an apartment and I could not imagine the hectic task in front of me. But TDY moving made the whole process less stressful for me. The crew of movers came on time and they patiently and efficiently helped me pack my things in boxes and taking very good care of more fragile items. Their job is not only a physical one it requires organization and patient planning and they are top notch. I thought I was going to break down when I saw the amount of junks I had but they did the impossible! I cannot be more pleased with the work they did. We were extremely pleased with TDY . We are both in our mid-70's and this was a stressful time as we downsized. Sara was absolutely lovely to deal with. She took time to explain every detail and was so patient when our closing date was pushed back several times. The men who arrived on moving day were wonderful ... polite, courteous and most of all, treated our furniture and belongings with the utmost care. Every piece was wrapped in quilts. Not a single item was damaged or lost. The weather was less than desirable for a move, but everything stayed dry. Our player piano, a cherished family heirloom, from our parents who had passed away. It always brought years of family around it, and memories of the heart. Our Grandchildren in Colorado during visits, played this piano, and loved it. One Grandson plays beautifully and his lessons are enhancing what is surely a natural talent. So the decision was made to send our piano to Colorado, where they live! The only difficulty was who to trust to transport it? Who would protect it, not lose it, and deliver it in perfect condition and in a timely manner?The search began!After calling locally to no avail, Dennis decided to try Angie's list, as we had seen advertisements on TV.We went online to <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.angi.com&s=8fc1733a44afb33f3f64832d7f7269251607a5662c809ad6e0cd54bb9e29a7af" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">angi.com</a> where we filled in a questionnaireregarding what our needs were, what type of help we sought etc.Within a short time, a woman named Angie called us in response to our Inquiry.Angie explained that she works for a company called TDY <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2FMOVING.COM&s=6f2110fbae80b16659e29d726843f92f0cbd428cfaff405406baed72c5ddfa97" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">MOVING.COM</a>. based in Brooklyn New York. Angie explained how her company would take the piano from New York to Colorado, that it would be only their company and their trucks that transported it, that we can insure the piano, and gave us an approximate time from pickup to delivery. Angie called the next day with a price, all the while being friendly and warm which made us very comfortable. She is an asset to their business for sure!After a day, we called and said we definitely would be hiring TDY MOVING, and papers to sign for our agreement were sent to us. What impressed us also, was the fact the Angie called us back the next day and said they had found an insurance company for less money, if we would like to change from the one previously offered. We stayed with the original as we thought that was a fair price.We chose a date that was convenient for us, so that was arranged.After pickup of the piano, they said it would be approximately 5 to 18 days for delivery.We had our plan!The day before pickup we received a phone call from TDY MOVING, verifying their arrival the next day. Also, the day of pickup, they phoned that they were on their way, and requested a photo be texted to them so they had an idea of what size and type of piano we were moving, so they were sure to have the proper equipment.Their truck pulled up in front of our home, and we were so impressed. Clean and well maintained!First impressions count!In came John, ET and Nick! Three of the nicest people we have met! The care they gave to our piano was wonderful! First they took photos of all of the piano. Next, moving blankets covering The Whole piano from top to bottom and side to side, then hard cardboard again covering the entire piano!Completing the protection was black plastic wrap around and up and down for water protection!Who could ask for more!?The care they gave, and the concern to do their job right, went well beyond what anyone could expect!We thank them.Now the wait for delivery!We thought the longest it could be was 18 days from leaving here, Angie was available if we had questions as to where it was, and always followed through with phone calls. We never felt worried, because we had a very reliable and caring company!On the 12th day, we received a call from the driver, from Nebraska, that delivery to Colorado would be the next day! The driver also called our son in Colorado to confirm delivery time!On the 13th, right on time, the piano was delivered safe and sound! The men unwrapped the piano and moved it to its new place, with our Grandchildren dancing for joy!We want to say thank you to you ALL at TDY MOVING for your excellence at what you do!Each one of you took the worry away, and really cared about us and followed through on a safe delivery!
