When I tell you I am a literally HELICOPTER dog mom when it comes to my sheps, there’s no doubt about it. The fact I felt safe enough for Tex to go and stay for a board and train, and literally feel at ease is a miracle. Jess and Katie Beth are top tier! The patience and knowledge they had for my Covid 3 year old was amazing. Tex has shown so much improvement, that I thought would never happen. Tandem canines training company has been a wealth of knowledge with training my German shepherd. He's always been a high strung dog and a lot to manage but with the guidance and tools Jess and katiebeth have given me and the hours they put in with a board and train and private lessons he is no longer reactive, I can take him in public, he rides in the car calmly and we can enjoy his company and be polite in the house. They are always available to answer my questions no matter how big or small, always work with our crazy schedule and help keep us in line. I'm a military vet and I give them my seal of approval!! *Edited below* I don’t know what’s happened to the company that had such rave reviews before. My dog has been there for 4 weeks in the board and train program, and I have had next to zero communication from the trainers about his progress. I was promised weekly emails and pictures/videos, and have not received that. Only a few videos from week 2 and that’s it. They’re unresponsive to messages, give excuses as to why they won’t communicate. I understand life can get in the way, but you’re still running a business and you’re taking care of our precious pets. I really hope my dog is ok and has actually received good training because I have no evidence to prove that. Supposedly he’s coming home tomorrow but I’ve received zero instructions on scheduling or procedures or setting up follow up lessons. *Edited to add- my dog did get home safe and sound, and has fantastic skills from the training. The trainers were going through a rough time and gave full explanation and took responsibility for the lack of communication, and have since gotten back on track and been great with follow up. Jessica and Katiebeth are a wonderful, patient, and knowledgeable team! My husband and I were losing some hope in our 9 month old Belgian Malinois/ Mix. He was having behavioral issues mainly towards me (I.e. lunging, biting, bullying, and disobeying commands) and reactivity (leash pulling, barking, all the tingz). Jessica saw right through him at the first behavioral assessment! We recently sent our 8 month old Golden Retriever, Lucy, and 9 year old Corgi ,Penny, for the three week board and train. Jess and Katie did a wonderful job with our girls . Amazing to see the difference in behavior in everything from walking, greeting, impulse control to just overall behavior. Not saying my ability to duplicate theirs is 100% by any means but having follow up at home and seeing everything our girls can do, it’s a function of consistency on our part. Tandem is a great place for training. My 3 year old Springer Spaniel was having a lot of kennel aggression issues and social anxiety issues. We have been working with Tandem Canines Training for a couple months now and it just has been awesome. We recently sent our one year old GoldenDoodle, Maggie for some much needed training. Jessica and Katiebeth did an amazing job with her. Absolutely remarkable! Leash trained, command trained! No more bolting out the door and knocking me over… no more dragging me along while walking. I noted that Jess has a very special way of communicating with her. Amazing!!! The difference between the pup I dropped off for training and the pup I got back is night and day! We did the 3 week board-and-train with Jessica and it's amazing the amount of work that clearly went into it. My dog used to drag me up and down the street, now the leash has more give than I can hold! She was very responsive to my (many) questions throughout his stay and made sure the drop-off was thorough. I also love that she offers regular boarding so he can continue to practice his training while we're away instead of the chance he loses them while at a different place! Definitely recommend! Our experience with Tandem Canines was amazing. We got weekly updates about our baby girl along with photos and videos. When she came home after the 3 week board & train, we could just tell she was a lot more well-behaved. There is a decompression period when they come home so accidente May happen but I can say that 4 days later, we have gone the whole morning without an accident! 👏🏼👏🏼 Jessica was amazing at being available to answer questions and we could tell she was really loving on our baby girl like she was her own. If you're looking for a place to send your furry friend to learn some new tricks or simply become better behaved, look no further than the dog training camp! This place truly exceeded my expectations and provided my dog with an amazing experience. First off, the staff at the dog training camp are incredibly knowledgeable and caring. They took the time to get to know my dog and his specific needs and personality, which made me feel confident that he was in good hands. They also provided me with regular updates on his progress, which helped put my mind at ease while he was away. But the real standout feature of this camp is the training program itself. The trainers use positive reinforcement techniques to help dogs learn new behaviors and commands, which was really important to me as I didn't want my dog to feel scared or intimidated during the training process. They also tailored the program to meet my dog's specific needs, which helped him make progress quickly. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience at the dog training camp. Loved working with Jessica when I first started my now retired service dog. She was helpful and patient with both of us. Especially when I was a brand new trainer and my dog is a rescue. Then we started with my service dog prospect. Things got tight for me personally so we had to cut the contract unfortunately. But I 100% highly recommend Jessica Rendon. Our dog, Berta, completed a board and train. She used to pull on leash, not listen, and jump on people. Now, her leash manners are amazing, she doesn’t jump, and Jess took the time to go over what she did and how we can keep everything up. Jess is very interested in creating that partnership between person and dog. She also gives us insight into what our dog is feeling so we know the “why” behind what she does. We are so happy with the training we are receiving from Jess at Tandem Canines. She has an incredible knowledge in canine development. We have learned so much in our 6 months of her training program. Extremely professional and caring business owner. Toby was brought into our family as a puppy during the Covid pandemic. He was limited with any outside connection with other people or animals outside our four walls. Jess worked with us closely on a plan to correct Toby’s social issues and behaviors. We are now able to go on walks and be around strangers without barking or growling. He’s great with commands and direction. Currently, Toby is working with Jess on social walks with other dogs to further his confidence and maintain lessons learned. Tandem Canines Training Company came as a recommendation from a local dog group on Facebook and Jessica personally reached out as well. I email them and within a few days started communicating. Our boy at the time was around five or six months old (Golden Retriever) and my family had reached the point that we no longer knew where to go with his training as we had given some foundation but had hit a mighty big wall. Jessica came to our house for an eval and gave us a no crap where to go from there, Board and Train. After talking we sent our little golden boy to Boot Camp with Jessica and her magical team. We got updates every week, which included videos and pictures on how he was doing. After we picked him up, any questions we had Jessica and Katiebeth were willing to answer, even meeting up to talk about some in depth dog info for first time parents. They have been beyond helpful, and his training is getting better every day! He is not a service dog, purely a pet, and every time we go to Home Depot or Lowe’s people make comments at how well behaved he is and how he must be a service dog or in training to be and how their dog could never be out in public. My dog Whisky was impossible to walk on a leash before she went to Tandem Canines Training! Now, she’s so well behaved and I can actually take her out with me and enjoy the time we spend together. Everyone at Lowe’s always asks if she’s a service dog. 😂 I also love that I could tell that Whisky enjoyed her time away for training and was comfortable and not stressed. Katherine and Jess are just great! My dog loves them after being in an intensive training. He came back as a different dog: calm, collected and very cooperative. What they taught my dog is making our lives way easier. I was first concerned about his safety, because he got in trouble several times, after eating things and foods that are really bad for dogs. Now, he is able to self control! We have a good and proven way to communicate to each other. Well... where can I start about Jess and Katiebeth? After a previous basic obedience experience, they assessed Chester's issues and identified the areas of opportunity for our 1. 5 year old Labrador Retriever and helped him (and also, us) to overcome them. Chester's behavior was obnoxious because he did not understand the concept of boundaries (not in an aggressive way but he was just 'in your face all the time'). After his first cycle of B&T, the behavior modification was impressive. What I find most satisfactory about them is (a) these gals do love what they do (b) they know what they are doing (c) they have this approach where dogs are 50% of the 'issue' but work with us humans as the other 50%. (d) Once your dog is back home, they are one text message away, their responsiveness is remarkable. I referred a good friend already and I do plan keep on doing it to everybody with dog training needs. Before Divine intervention brought us to them, I did my homework researching on services and while many others are soooo focused on 'capturing' customers through marketing, fluffing their services and making promises they probably cannot keep (like someone that once told me they could modify my dog's behavior via ZOOM in 5 30-min sessions), these gals put their money where their mouths are... and boy... When we were looking for a board & train program for our Australian Labradoodle (ALD), we found Jessica at Tandem Canines. Jessica is not only a trainer but also a dog behavioralist, which makes her training even more impactful. I like that Jessica did not resort to an e-collar right away but rather spent the time training with positive reinforcement. It’s been 3 weeks since our ALD attended her 3 week board and train program and she’s doing great. She’s still a puppy and needs constant reinforcement but she has the foundation that I was looking for. I’ve been able to build on what Jessica has instilled and advance my puppy’s manners. They have been the most patient, informative and kind people. We have a dog we are training to be a service dog and they are communicative in what and why they are training certain ways and why they do /teach certain things. I am not a dog person so when I get frustrated dealing with a new puppy they remind me what the purpose of the dog is and why we are doing what we are doing. I don't come by giving recommendations easily but I will never use another trainer nor will I suggest anything but Tandem Canines. More...

Jess and Katiebeth are AMAZING! We came to them with our 1.5 year old Doberman who was not only needing basic obedience training but was also suffering from aggressive and reactive tendencies. We noticed a huge change in her within the first few sessions. Jess and Katiebeth were able to breakdown the root of out dobie’s behaviors and taught us how to effectively correct and guide her. We can now safely introduce her to new people and take her out in public spaces with no worries! I am extremely happy that I went with Tandem Canines for my pup's training! I had interviewed with a couple different training companies but nothing compared to Jess and Katiebeth! I was worried that my almost 2 year old doberman, Diesel, would be stuck in his aggressive ways and I would never be able to take him places or have friends over my house again. Fortunately, they took the time to understand my doberman from the first interaction and got to know us as a duo to help us in the best way possible. He can now go to busy places like La Cantera and Phil Hardberger Park to enjoy himself without feeling anxious or aggressive around people or other dogs!! I can't thank them enough for how much stress they have taken out of my life and how happy Diesel is now that he is no longer that insecure dog.
