We celebrated my wife's 40th birthday at Talula's table the other night. They could not have been more kind or accommodating. But that is simply the service aspect. The meal was, without a doubt, one of the finest meals I have ever eaten. From the shot of fresh gazpacho to start the evening to the brown butter cake for dessert, all the dishes were top notch. Especially of note was the wild turbot over black garlic and then bathed in mushroom consommé. The zucchini hush puppies were delightful as well. I get the idea that no matter what season you chose to eat there, the quality of the ingredients would be excellent. To return briefly to the service, I was pleasantly surprised when they easily accommodated a last-minute curveball that I (unfortunately) threw their way. They couldn't have been more understanding and made sure that we all had an excellent experience. Our servers, Donna and Mia were gracious hosts and were always ready to assist with any issue that arose. From varying dietary restrictions to keeping our wine and beer choices flowing, they were the very model of wonderful service. Reserve. Go. Enjoy. You won't be sorry. More...

We’ve been regulars at the day-cafe since it opened more than a decade ago. We particularly love to start our morning with a yummy, filling frittata or one of the breakfast specials, paired with one of their fresh-baked rolls or flavored pretzels and a caffe latte - heaven! The staff are unfailingly friendly, and we enjoy seeing our friends and meeting new people at the communal tables. The decor is inviting and relaxing, with countless little details that always makes it interesting. Hats off to Aimee, Claire and all the staff for making Talulas the much-beloved community watering hole it is today and helping to make Kennett the marvelous hometown and destination spot it has become! I wandered in looking for dessert and was pleasantly surprised. I got a blueberry and peach scone, which was very moist and flavorful. Probably the best scone I've have ever. I also ordered a chi latte with oat milk. Definitely the best chai latte I've had. It was very creamy despite using an alternative milk. I would go back for both. More...

Nice local spot for a lunch or coffee at the communal table. The bakery/pastries are always excellent and the menu is reguarly updated with new items. Have never had the opportunity to have dinner, but have heard good things. I love talula's early in the morning when the place is quiet and Kennett hasn't quite woken up. More...

There should be a sixth star option for this place. We were fortunate enough to get a reservation recently because a group canceled. We had very high expectations because of the reputation and price. I can tell you that the flavors, atmosphere, service and presentation did not disappoint. The combination of dishes and creative coordination of flavors on each plate was above our expectations. We requested Chef Dylan to introduce himself and subsequently applauded because of his astounding performance. It was interesting to hear his background, influences and why he used each flavor and spice. Katie and others provided world class service at a very reasonable price. I ate at Gordon Ramsey's world class London location in Manhattan and the service at Talula's Table rivaled it. I can't recommend the experience enough! More...

The decor inside gives it a good ambiance, as it has that "country house kitchen feel". Staff is friendly enough, although there were moments where I had a feeling that they didn't really enjoy having to serve us the food. Every couse of food tasted excellent. However, the dinner felt a little ceremonial at times, with staff announcing what has just been served. Also while the concept of the restaurant isn't "all you can eat", obviously, the size of the servings seemed amusingly small at times. Almost to where before you really started enjoying the dish, it was already gone. It felt more like a tasting of their culinary ablilities, than an actual dinner. To me it was an example of "form over function". More...
