Samantha's Gift is a wonderful addition to the Tallahassee Food Truck scene. The food is authentic, delicious, and affordable. On my first visit I ordered a rumbera arepa and pabellon arepa.  Both were top notch, well prepared and flavorful.  The rumbera was chock full of slow cooked pork and cheese, while the pabellon burst with tender beef, plantain, and beans.   Make sure to complete your meal with an ice cold Colita (a very sweet Venezuelan soda). The areaps were good quality, however, there were only limited selection from their displayed menu that were available and although the service was fast and they serve A LOT of "stuffing" in the arepa, my arepa's meat "Rumbera" was tasteless. .. I had to add lots of pink sauce to add some flavor. I also had some "Tequeños" which are cheese stuffed pastries and they could have been better..unfortunately mine weren't as hot as it should have been to make the cheese a little softer, I felt like I was biting on a block of solid cheese. I had the Soursop juice, which they were making it sound great, but I didn't find it to be too different from when I make it at home.Overall, I'm giving it four stars because of the great service and the Arepa it self (which I think would taste great really warm without stuffing and butter on top). Delicious! The Pabellon Arepas is awesome. Also liked the one (not an arepas but Ican't remember the name) with a sweet corn tortilla and cheese. Owners a really nice and helpful. Definitely worth checking out. More...

Three Pabellon Arepas later and the three little piggies went whee whee whee all the way home...What do you mean that's not how it goes It will be after you snatch an arepa from this food truck! Very nice and attentive staff who are obviously passionate about their food. It shows.1 Pabellon arepa was no cheese nor meat, so vegetarians DO have options with added avocado (a handful of add-ins available to up the ante on your arepa). The two others were as is, except the as-is this time around included no shredded beef (they were out) but pulled pork instead. The substitute was savory and melted in your mouth, so we were too busy stuffing our faces to complain (not that we would've). Pink sauce ready for you at tables, with another delicious green sauce. Wash it down with a Frescolita or other Venezuelan/Colombian pops and call it a night. FYI-They've got weird hours, from what I can tell, but FB will tell you their whereabouts if you have a hankering but can't find them. If you do that, let me know, so I can try their REAL Pabellon arepa plus some tequeños (for good measure) since they were out of those too. More...

The sandwich was so delicious! There are many great flavor combinations to choose from (I had the Pabellon- pulled beef, plantains and black beans) and everything is very well priced. The tropical fruit juices are great for pairing with a yummy arepa sandwich. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful, great people with a great food truck- they deserve your return business- I'm definitely going to frequent this place. More...

This little treasure on Gaines Street near Doak is worth the visit. For $12 I bought two arepas (For most, one is enough). But I wanted to try two different kinds. Rumbera - pulled pork and four cheeses - meaty, juicy, cheesy.Catira - chicken and four cheese - meaty, juicy, cheesy. As you can see, these are both the same. Nonetheless, excellent pulled pork and chicken flavor. The arepeas themselves are delicious. Chewy, not dense, but also with a slight crisp which made the meal. I neglected to take sauces since I took my order to go. Don't make the same mistake I did! You'll see my face again! More...

Here you'll get an opportunity to taste the unique combination of flavors that makes an authentic Venezuelan arepa.  Samantha's gift is currently the only place in Tallahasse where you'll appreciate the smells and texture of a true Venezuelan arepa. Make sure to add guasacaca (Venezuelan guacamole) to your arepas. More...
