I flew in to Jackson and was able to check this off my list a few minutes after my flight landed. Table 100 is on my top restaurants list. The food is phenomenal and the service is exceptional. I started my meal with the Gulf Blue Crab Claws which were the main reason I was dining at Table 100. This is Mississippi, and let me tell you they did not skimp on this appetizer portion. I was content with the well seasoned crab claws and understand why they get rave reviews. For my entree, I flirted with getting the southern fried chicken or the fried catfish, but they are plentiful and delicious in many places throughout the South. I ordered the shrimp and grits which I had decided on weeks before my trip. What makes this dish unique is that it's served with turnip greens. The grits are surrounded by a ham hock jus and topped with turnip greens. The shrimp are wrapped in applewood bacon and placed on top of the greens. The shrimp are lightly drizzled with a smoked bbq sauce. I said all of this to say: Yum! Delicious! Yes! I'll have another order of everything. Table 100 gave us the best dining experience in the Jackson area thus far!I made reservations online, we arrived right on time and were seated immediately. Chad was our server and his attitude is beyond professional! He is knowledgeable on the menu, presented us with the daily specials and gave recommendations. We started off with the crab cakes along with the pomegranate martini and Pink Ta-Ta from the bar. Drinks and Appetizer were fantastic. I ordered the chef's fish special and my date ordered the brisket with southern side dishes along with a cup of duck/pork sausage gumbo. My fish was delightful and well seasoned. My date's brisket was good but he said that his sides were heavily seasoned with salt. Also, the duck/sausage gumbo combo wasn't his favorite. More...

I have had great experiences at Table 100 in the past, but unfortunately that was not the case on Saturday at lunch. We were seated right away and placed our order. Several other tables were seated after us. We waited about 35 minutes for our food while we watched people who ordered after us receive and eat their food. My redfish lacked flavor. The hollandaise lacked the creamy richness of a good hollandaise and the potatoes were not done. My coworker ordered a salad and requested no blue cheese...it was loaded with blue cheese. Even the hamburger lacked flavor. I may try it again...but that wait was ridiculous. I honestly believe our server forgot to turn in our order. More...

We had a large 50th Wedding Anniversary party. The reservation was very easy to set up and the staff was informative. After we arrived, my mother mentioned that she wished the tables were set up so she could sit with her siblings and there spouses. No problem!! They rearranged the seating right then! What I like about this restaurant and most of Jackson's restaurants on my favorites list is that they use local foods in their dishes. DISH ONE was a Southern Snack Board with pimento cheese (possibly the best I've ever had), deviled tasso, and a smoked salmon spread served with Pullman toast. DISH TWO was the Gulf Shrimp and Grits with applewood bacon-wrapped Gulf shrimp served over turnip greens and Grit Girl grits with ham hock jus and a smoked bbq sauce. DISH THREE was the filet served with Yukon gold mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans. DISH FOUR was the Warm Cream Cheese Brownie served with a scoop of ice cream, white chocolate sauce, and fresh berry coulis. (Our daughter was with us, thus the blackberry 'ears' on the ice cream.) DISH FIVE was a French press coffee served with Godiva white chocolate liquor. The waiter showed us the proper way to serve the coffee liquor so that the steam of the coffee warmed it up before pouring into your coffee.
