The food was great! The people were nice and polite even during a busy dinner service. Some of the best bbq I have had. I recommend the pulled pork sandwich. This isn't a sit down waiter service. The restaurant is order and then servers bring the food to you and refill drinks,etc which for this style restaurant I like it!! More...

Absolutely excellent. The burnt ends (at lunch, usually gone by not long after 11:30am) and the slop sandwich definitely rise to the top for me. My wife loves the pulled pork nachos. Top side is definitely the pit beans. A must try. A note on the jalapeno cheese grits, these are usually a favorite for me at most places that have them. Here, I found them to be too liquidy, and not quite what I wanted on the flavor profile either, but still fine. All around, this is in my top 10 all-time BBQ places for sure. Maybe not top 5, but definitely top 10. Absolutely the best anywhere between KC and STL for sure. Always worth a stop. Great beers on tap too, and a cool atmosphere. Great local BBQ local place for lunch or dinner. I ordered the "pick 2" as a safe choice, but went for it with Jalapeño Grits as a side. My wife did "I love Texas Tacos"We were absolutely impressed! Five stars for the carolina in my mind pulled pork sandwich, pork was tender with just the right amount of smoke, comes with slaw on it with mustard style Carolina sauce, green beans for my side order, had a nice little spicy kick to them!

Great location, good food. The Boss Hog is way too much for one, but as a sampler, it's too easy to try it all. Overall, enjoyed the food. The pork was good and I say that with the understanding that I rarely find even acceptable pork barbecue outside of North Carolina. The turkey is great and I think it stands by itself - ask them not to put the seasoning on it. The brisket was respectable and would hold it's own in Texas and the ribs were meaty, but the lone disappointment for being a little on the dry side. They have four sauces on the table and I struggle to identify significant differences between them, mainly because they all just had varying levels of heat as their defining characteristic.It is a place to come back to.
