Needed a cake for my boyfriend's birthday and I kept in contact through email. They responded quickly and were able to make my cake 5 days before I needed it. My family comes to Sweet Occassion all the time for Dominican cake. To be honest, It's shocked they have 3 stars because a lot of people know about Sweet Occassions. If you're looking for a Dominican cake, this is the place to order from. There are many Dominican places that sell cake and it isn't that good. There are actually tons of places who's cakes aren't that good. There prices are really good, and they other pastries are delicious. If you need a dominican cake, super last minute for someones birthday or bring to a party, you can walk in there the day out and it will cost you ONLY $25. If you go to Martha's Bakery, the same size cake will cost you about $50. My favorite filling is Dulce de Leche, but they also have piña and guayaba (which is another banger). I've been coming to this bakery for many years. I am shocked to see negative reviews. All the ladies here are super sweet. It does get busy and I've tried putting an order via the phone but I personally feel it's better to do it in person. I live in Long Island and I travel here every time just for their cake. Let me just say how much I love your dominican cake. My dominican family is particular and they loooovvvvee your cake- they have driven from the bronx just to order cakes from here. My baby shower cake and gender reveal cake came from here. The only negative thing I have to say is I think its a touch overpriced - and before you say i dont know what im talking about - im an event planner - have been for over 15 yrs....its a touch overpriced but its so good i try my best to overlook it. thanks! Another beautifully decorated and delicious cake made by this bakery. No detail was left out. I always harp on how sweet most Dominican cakes are. Some can literally wake up a diabetic from a coma. Not this cake!!! It was moist, it had the right amount of sugar and the vanilla scent was heavenly. I did take one star because the day I went to place the order, I was told by a woman they don't do the service on Fridays. After explaining the reason why it had to be done that day (mind you, I was ver apologetic), she had us take a seat. Business went on as usual. There were times the store was empty. Over half hour passed and after I questioned our senseless wait, I realized she had conveniently forgotten to mention to anyone else the reason we were there.
