I can't understand the negative reviews. I've been coming here since they opened and I have to be honest, NONE of the folks helping me have been anything but lovely. It's so nice to be able to have cake when you're trying to limit your inflammatory intake. I do wish they would bring back the chocolate raspberry cake; I and others preferred it to the chocolate caramel. Ps if you find the cakes dry etc try the chocolate! They are so moist and delicious!! Huge THANKS to the Sweet Laurel team (10/21). My girlfriend and I are constantly traveling to try different coffee shops anywhere from L. A. to the O.C. Todays drive to the bakery was a little hefty. It took about 2 1/2 hours to get here,  but it was honestly worth it. It is my girlfriends birthday, and she has been dying to make the drive out to Sweet Laurel Bakery ever since she followed them on insta. The customer service was amazing, the recommendations were great, and to top it off they lit a candle on our slice of cake to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. Wonderful experience, exquisite taste, and the best ingredients! Lactose-intolerance limits my option of desserts, as well as my recent shift of eating grain-free. Beautiful bakery with extremely friendly and helpful staff serving delicious baked goods! Sweet Laurel is by far my favorite bakery in LA, which is saying a lot because there are several excellent bakeries here. Best kept secret: Sweet Laurel has EXCELLENT coffee and its staff are all qualified baristas. The Sweet Laurel Latte is a phenomenal treat! Finding gluten free vegan baked goods is very difficult even in LA; everything at Sweet Laurel is gluten free and most of the options are also vegan. Also, Sweet Laurel uses whole healthy ingredients unlike some of its competitors which rely upon lots of sugar to create tasty vegan, gluten free baked goods. For people that have a health issue requiring a special diet, Sweet Laurel is a godsend. Much of gluten free and vegan food ends up being nearly as good whatever food item it is attempting to copy. Sweet Laurel is an excellent bakery that also happens to be gluten free and vegan; in other words, rather than trying to copy and fall short, it pursues its own path and finds excellence. I don't like many baked goods because they tend to be overly sugary, but these cakes are my favorite! Having a sensitive stomach and being lactose intolerant makes it difficult to find food that makes me feel good after eating it, and Sweet Laurel cake does just that. A dream come true  As a girl with a ton of food allergies and intolerances, cake is something hard for me to come by. I have the Sweet Laurel cookbook and has always wanted to come try it in person, when my best friend decided we would go for my birthday. It was SO good. I have a nut allergy so that really narrowed down my options- then I could only have the coconut flour options. Which were still delicious! I got the coconut jam cake and a coffee cake muffin. The jam cake was so good and moist. The jam was fresh and really made the cake! I wish the prices were a little more reasonable, as $10 for a slice of cake is a bit much, but I do understand it can be difficult to bake such unique cakes. I will for sure go back one day! More...

Needed a last minute small, beautiful custom cake for an upscale Hollywood birthday and called the morning of, relieved to discover that many of the cakes offered online are available on a first-come-first serve daily basis in store. On the phone I was able to reserve (and pay for) the Vanilla Coconut Jam cake that I had wanted, with option of white, pink (or both) floral on top. I thought the $70 price for the 6inch 6layer cake was great, and it looked cute, trendy and just what I needed to impress/surprise a 30-something female friend for her Hollywood birthday dinner.It was a Paleo Cake with Vegan frosting, and considering those ingredients it tasted good, not "amazing", but I think people are willing to sacrifice amazing taste when they know they're eating an organic, all natural "sugar free" bite. We took a 2 hour Uber ride to Pacific Palisades to visit the Sweet Laurel Bakery, and it was definitely worth the trip! The desserts and coffee were delicious! There was a large selection of desserts, and we tasted many of them! Everything was absolutely delicious!  The staff was also incredibly friendly and welcoming!  We highly recommend this bakery and will definitely return!  We wish they had a location in our hometown of Houston! I absolutely love this place. I have purchased 3 cakes, tried several cake slices, tried over a dozen cookies, and tried a couple of the chocolate chip brownies. All of them have been delicious, fresh and moist. They sell their cakes nationwide on Goldbelly so I was able to send my Mom the Lemon Coconut Cake for Mother's Day. She was blown away and has not stopped talking about how much she enjoyed it. I love to buy a whole cake and I can just freeze it and take slices out to eat whenever the moment strikes me. I am about an hour away from the bake shop so stocking up is the best way to go or I would be wanting to go back every week. I have purchased their cake slices at the Erewhon in Calabasas when I was not able to make the long trip. My birthday and anniversary are about a week apart and I could not think of a better way to celebrate my special days than with a special treat from Sweet Laurel so I stopped by both days. As a business owner myself I understand what it costs to run a business with employees, a storefront, service vehicles or in your case delivery vehicles and the expense of all the supplies it takes to run smoothly. So if people don't get why a superior quality product is not the same price as a cake from Albertson's then I guess they have no idea what the difference is between dining at Mastro's and dining at Chili's. I found Sweet Laurel Bakery yesterday when walking past them. It's my newest GEM of a find! Gluten-free and grain-free desserts made with maple syrup are INSANELY good and low in sugar! !!! They deserve nothing less than 5* reviews. Yes, the prices are somewhat higher than what you might find at your local grocer for gluten-free, but if you live in the gluten/grain-free natural sugar world as I do, these prices and portion sizes are reasonable. What a great bakery! Sweet Laurel's makes me only want to eat grain-free baked goods because they make them so delicious and they don't leave you with an uncomfortable sugar high. My husband and I stayed in the Pacific Palisades for 2 nights, and we ended up coming here twice because of how much we enjoyed it. The staff is also super helpful and friendly. Let's be straight & honest, I came here for photos only. I pretended to know what is GF then asked for any cake that looks good on picture plus a red color tea to go with it. First bite tasted moist, solid and not bad. I was thinking what it would like if my mattress was made out of it. For those suffering from serious food allergies and certain auto-immune issues, this is a deliciously safe bakery with great service and adorable ambiance. Yes the prices are higher than other allergen-friendly places, but this is the first local place that I know of that serves grain-free/refinedsugar-free/dairy-free desserts that I can actually eat. Hi hi! First off found this place on insta- Immediately walking towards the place there was a girl sitting outside who happily greeted us and offered samples- she quickly gave us more details of what the bakery had to offerWe walked in and looked at the menu- luckily we kinda had an idea since we had looked at the menu prior to visiting. I ordered a carrot cake and lavender tea My friend ordered a Keto brownie & Keto muffinThe only reason I gave 4/5 was because i didn't know the drink wasn't sweetened - The guy mentioned he wish I would've asked for sweetness- he forgot my cake too and I had to ask if my cake was on its way(awkward) i was a first timer (he knew)- I believe he should've asked other than blaming the customer- I do appreciate he fixed it- Other than that it was amazing. We appreciate the value of customer service- and Sophia was kind from the start which made the experience!! The baked goods were also unique and very light in taste- people that come  to this place have to have an open mind and not expect your heavy sweet desserts. If your going to have sugar, then at least put these thoughtful baked goods into your body.I was reading the wander L review at was shocked how she made her claims on how expensive this place was. I would like for her to open up her own business with all the expenses that it takes to operate, then-on top of that pay a premium for the expensive ingredients to make these healthy desserts, wander if you just sit down and run your numbers on what it costs to operate a business your would remove your review that doesn't add up. You wander L belong to the yum yum donut club! Period! Then when you end up in the hospital because of diabetes, you will be running back to sweet laurel to get your ass back in shape. This is a completely gluten-free bakery and they have a few drinks as well. The decor  is absolutely beautiful, their desserts are beautiful and so nicely presented, this is the ideal place to pick up a cake for a fancy event or birthday. Service is wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The prices are high, but considering the quality and effort they put into their products, I feel it is worth it. My family stopped by to check out this bakery that Katherine Schwarzenegger promoted in her blog. I was excited to try the coconut jam cake, but was also persuaded to try their new chocolate chip banana bread, so we ordered both. The portions are quite small for the price, but I understand that they use organic natural ingredients so I was willing to look past the cost. We both agreed that the cake was fine, but nothing exceptional. We could tell that it was a healthier cake because of the texture and it was not overly sweet. I personally don't think it's worth the $10 price, but that's just my opinion. The chocolate chip banana bread was phenomenal. I would guess that most people would not guess that it was grain free, dairy free and refined sugar free. I would definitely come back for the bread alone. The bakery is clean and nicely decorated. Sweet Laurel is a cute little shop that was recommend by a friend. She told me everything is gluten free and that I needed to try it. I was skeptical at first but when I tried their lemon coconut cake and chocolate caramel cake, I couldn't get enough! It was perfectly moist and flavorful and couldn't tell that it was gluten free! So, so, so, so adorable! The pink decor on the inside is literally a dream for me and perfectly emulates the inside of my Legally Blonde brain. It is decked out in the most delicate blush colors with lots of art along the walls and throughout the store. I could sleep in this bakery and dream of desserts for years to come. I ordered the vanilla coconut cake and it was so delicious. It was soft and moist with a perfect amount of sweetness. The best part is the cake and everything here is gluten and dairy free. I usually stay away from places like this for fear of the desserts not being sweet enough. This place has broken down that stereotype. They really know how to emulate all the flavors of a cake that is made from both dairy and gluten. I was very impressed. They also have a great selection of teas and coffees to complement the sweets. My cousin ordered the rose tea and after taking a sip, I wished I had done the same. It was light pink and had the perfect hint of rose. I will definitely be ordering this next time.
