Q&As

Everyone I meet has an inspirational story and being the person who shines the light on someone else's personal power is very magical. I love what I do and find so much joy in seeing others begin to meet their full potential. Overcoming trauma, depression, or anxiety can be a journey...even finding the right and true balance in life without these barriers can be difficult and so much easier when you have support and guidance.

I've worked for various private and community agencies and found that I best help clients with freedom to establish a purely individualized treatment plan, which is much more possible in a private practice setting. I also found inspiration in leadership roles where I had the opportunity to build programs while collaborating with other independent wellness practitioners. Furthermore, in order to best help my clients, I also have to have a solid self-care regimen with the ability to meet my own potential and being in private practice allows me to do this so that I can maintain resiliency and have more time and energy to provide the best service for my clients.

I am genuinely a holistic practitioner and although I have years of training in diagnostics and clinical mental health, I see everyone as an individual with unique needs in order to work toward meeting their potential. This may include exploring issues of nutrition, environmental factors, relationships, communication difficulties, behavioral and thought patterns, and physical health in addition to psychological health and/or trauma recovery. If I feel strongly that a client's needs are beyond my scope of practice, I will help a client find their way to get these needs met. The first years of my training were specializing in assessment and tuning into an individual's needs while maintaining a comforting and nonjudgmental space for clients to freely express themselves. I am also highly skilled in various evidenced-based therapeutic modalities such as EMDR, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, ACT and other CBT methods, Seeking Safety, and various other mindfulness based skill building and practice.
