such a super cool and fun spot for breakfast! this place is such a good fit for the highlands with the fun graphics on the walls and the comic book like menu. it just makes me want to go back to being a kid! not to mentions its like as soon as you walk in you can feel the bubbly vibe they have rocking though the place. just a fun time being here, and the food isn't bad either. i myself got small orange juice and the super chefs eggs benedict. which was super good and really hit the spot to start off a good day. my fiancé got the pancake platter which was also a fun mix to the world with red and yellow pancakes sitting in front of you and not to mention the pancakes where very thick and fluffy. one thing i remember clearest is the benedict was not pouched eggs, they were over easy, which i know realize is the way to go. made things much more simple and much easier to handle. the pancakes where almost my favorite part honestly, with each one having its own individual flavors and its own little spot on the board its quite nice to start out with the ones that are good and end on the one that is your favorite. but to me the small things count.. and they brought us extra glasses with out own pitcher of ice cold water, and for someone that drinks a lot when they enjoy an meal this is an essential thing to generate an good time for my self. but if there is one thing i could complain about it would be the price. i don't like complaining on price much because you have to pay for good food, but on this one i think they where shooting for the stars with the prices. with both of us getting orange juice and just one entrée each, i think we ended up with a good $50+ bill, which would be no big deal on a usual outing but i will have to say i left hungry. and if i spend that much money i would like to be full when i leave. but the thing that keeps them in the race is the fact that when the food got to me it was hot, i never ran out of something to drink, the place itself is just too cool and i didn't have an option to complain. i will surely be back, just too many things i would like to try not to return. i would also recommend this place to anyone who likes good food, but fair waring it can get expensive. I had heard a lot about SuperChefs before I went there, but I ended up there by mistake. We were looking for another place, say SuperChefs and changed our mind about the other place. Good call. The restaurant has the typical strip-center vibe to it. There are Christian quotes on the glass windows and a super (eh) nice staff. The food was terrific. I had the pulled-pork barbecue quesadillas, er, Spiderman Superdilla. It was a lot of food for a quesadilla and was delicious. It did get a little over-bearing toward the end -- too much sweet for too long. Perhaps half would have been better. The waitress recommended ordering it with chicken instead of pork. That would work, too. My lunch partner had the chopped salad. It was a good looking chopped salad. I am looking forward to going there again and trying more of their offerings. More...

A visit to Super Chefs will have you tempted to use tHe adjective "super" to describe your entire dining experience. Situated in a cool urban setting, the interior has super heroes themed pictures blanketing the walls. Ample Parking is available on the side of the building. The menu is very extensive and creative. We were seated almost immediately and our server, Jazmin, allowed me to sample a little bit of the shrimp and grits. I decided to do a half order of the grits and half order of the seafood biscuits and gravy. Both of these dishes had heavy Cajun influence and the the flavors were "super-delicious." The side order of candied bacon was awesome. The wife ordered a Lobster  BLT breakfast sandwich. The combinations of ingredients was amazing. This is a great addition to the brunch scene. More...

This review has been a long time coming! I've wanted to try this restraint since I moved to Louisville a year ago! My husband and I finally made the move and I have never been more happy with my brunch choice! I had the seafood biscuit and gravy. It was in blue on the menu which means it is a chef special. I've started going for these items on a menu because I feel like the chef puts more time into these dishes or they love making them or believe they themselves this is what they do best. It took so long  for my husband and I to even get through the menu! There is so much to look at and read. The chef, Darnell, has done so much on food network and in Louisville! I was so impressed by simply that. He really is a local guy and I love it! This is definitely a new stop for my husband and I when we invite our friends to Louisville! My only disappointment is that our breakfast nachos did not have an over easy egg. The yolk was not runny but I can get over that. More...

The food was amazing! "kings of brunch" is an accurate description. They are definitely the poster children for Sullivan Culinary alumnus. I'm not usually a gravy fan and eggs and gravy would not cross my mind, this is Ultimate Comfort Breakfast foods.  The breakfast nachos were amazing, and they would even be sufficient as an entree. Throwing chorizo in a sausage gravy was close to genius. But don't come on an empty stomach. This is the place to lose count of your calories and indulge. Candied bacon is sticky and sweet, satisfying my need for bacon with any and every meal. I could not choose which waffle I wanted, but the chef has that figured out. The Wakanda platter gives you 4 of them, one of each to try. They have gluten free and diet sensitive menu items on request. The told me they are no longer honoring the yelp check in "free waffle bite;" and they no longer serve alcohol even though there is a full bar, it did appear empty. No liquor license, no alcohol. My friends and I ordered different things so we can try different  things. We settled on the Waffle Platter, Seafood biscuit and gravy, and Chicken wings  and Waffles. Best breakfast place around! I brought my in-laws here and they are big foodies and really like quality food. When we first walked in it is super casual and definitely a Diner and I thought "crap. There is no way they will like this place." WRONG. They complimented everything about this place. And yeah it's not fancy but eating next to a giant Lord's Supper Mural with superheros instead of Jesus is pretty fun. I ordered the eggs Benedict and not only is it a TON of food but it also is some of the best eggs Benedict I've had at a breakfast place. It had a grit patty instead of toast or English muffin. Every meal we got came with a house fresh salad too which was DELICIOUS. I loved having something fresh along with a heavy meal. The hash browns were also great. If you go you definitely have to buy a side of candies bacon. It's their thing and has a spicy kick to it that is great! Definitely recommend if you aren't needing some place fancy. More...

WOW! This is the go to brunch place! A great selection of savory and sweet, plated so luxurious and it tastes even better! The waitress was very patient and very helpful.  The menu was a little distracting and hard to understand because it looks like every word is popping out at you. But the cartoon letters and designs play well to the super theme. Although when you check in to this establishment they offer you a free waffle bite and have a yelp sign at the door they claim to not have a partnership with yelp, per what the waitress said. So check in but claim no free waffle bite.. The Superchef's omelet paired with the crispiest potato cubes and small portion of a side salad is the absolute best way to start your morning! The candied bacon and stuffed inside the fluffy omelet fills you up with every bite! I can see why this chef's a winner! Pancake or Cake? I didn't enjoy the pancakes, but it doesn't mean you won't. SuperChefs is my HERO!We live right down the street, so this place is our go to Sunday brunch spot.  This place is so good in fact that we are known to go multiple weekends in a row! Great for our bellies, not so great for our wallets lol. Most everything at SuperChefs is A La Carte so it can be somewhat pricy but, it is well worth it and you get some bang for your buck. The menu looks like a little comic book, and it tells the back story of the owner of SuperChefs and how he got started etc.  But my favorite feature is how they point out specific options on the menu. I hope I describe this accurately but they have a key at the bottom of their menu, each image showing you "gluten free options", "weight gain", "energy booster", etc that you can find next to their menu items for your dietary needs.  I thought it was a cute and unique way to incorporate dietary needs. On our most recent visit I actually did was a Yelp! Elite is supposed to do, and took photos of our bill and paid attention to pricing lol.  We started our feast with the mini breakfast pizza ($6.99).  This was probably my favorite out of this visit.  This crust was thicker but crunchy, kind of like a flatbread. I loved it.  I couldn't really pinpoint the sauce.  I want to say it was maybe hollandaise? idk, nor do I care tbh lol it was good.  Cheese, basil and an over easy egg, sprinkled some cayenne pepper and voila.  Breakfast pizza FTW! We then continued the flavor journey to the entree's.  I got the Juggernaut Super Sandwich ($12.99) , and the boyfriend got the Lobster BLT ($12.99).  I will have to say that he chose the better entree.  Although my sammach was delish, it was too much.  His bacon was perfectly crisp, and the lobster was sweet and chunky and delicious.  It was on a croissant that was baked to perfection.  Buttery, light and airy. mmm.  It was also served with a side of hash browns/home fries.  They were good as well, just needed to be a little more cooked/crispy for my liking.  The Juggernaut is a fried chicken sandwich with an egg, pepper jack cheese, and some honey all stacked between a HUGE RED WAFFLE!  It was literally huge, messy, and delicious.  My only complaint is the waffle itself.  Its just entirely too thick and dry.  But I added a touch more syrup to the sandwich and it was a-okay in my book.  My sandwich was served A La Carte but I got an order of fresh fruit ($2.50).  It had probably one strawberry, a tablespoon of blueberries, and three chunks of cantaloupe.  I had asked our server what specific fruits came in the cup and she just said "seasonal".  I was kind of disappointed in that answer just in the sense that maybe I had a food allergy.  If I would have known that cantaloupe was served in the cup I wouldn't have purchased it.  To me it wasn't worth the $2.50.We also ordered a single Reece's pancake ($4.00).  It was thick and fluffy and yummy. This is probably my boyfriends favorite part of the meal lol.  Not my jam personally, I wouldn't be able to finish one on my own but it was tasty nonetheless. In total with this visit with the food and two coffees, we spent $47.56 after tax, before tip.  Not too bad considering that the only thing that didn't have some sort of left over was the hash browns and the fruit cup.  Now, on our very first visit (no pricing) the boyfriend had ordered the cajun biscuits and gravy, and I got the "wings and waffle".  His biscuit and gravy was served in a cute little mason jar that you would dump on your plate yourself.  His had just enough spice, enough gravy, and a not too dry biscuit.  But I do have to say that my Wings and Waffle was better.  Again the waffle is too thick for my liking, but nothing a little bit more syrup can't take care of.  The star of the show was those wings man.  Sweet and spicy and cooked to perfection.  The next time we go, I will probably get this again.Superchefs is only open until 3pm and we got there around 9 or 10 and got sat immediately.  But soon after we got sat a wait would start.  So my suggestion is get there early if you do not like to wait. There is a small parking lot to the left of the strip before the chase bank, and another small lot behind the building.  Both of which is all shared with the other 4 or so restaurants/businesses. So you're probably better off just parking on the street.Keep in mind, that they no longer serve alcohol either! More...

We discovered SuperChefs on Yelp while visiting Louisville looking for a brunch spot. I'm gluten free and this came up as an option that had some gf alternatives. The location is perfect on Bardstown Rd and around a lot of shops. The theming of the restaurant really keeps up with the superhero aesthetic. It is a large menu with breakfast and lunch options that have a LOT of southern flair. There's messaging in the menu about the founder and the goal of the restaurant which was very cool. The television plays old episodes of Guy's Grocery Games from Food Network which one of the chef/founders was on. That was fun to see! They have a gluten free mix for the waffles. On the menu there's one labeled gluten free but they actually can use the gluten free waffles for any of the options. These waffles are OVER THE TOP and stacked with toppings, fillings and fun platings. My order was the Elvis waffles with egg whites side. My sister ordered the triple threat strawberry waffles and a side of hash-browns. Neither of us were able to finish the meals but they were fun, over the top and the gluten free waffle was delicious. Vibe was energetic and the music selection was a great mix of older and newer R&B. Food was out of this world!! Menu was a bit overwhelming (because it's really busy) but the upside is that there are lots of gluten free options which means those of us cursed with a gluten sensitivity don't have to miss out on the delicious options. I really hate that Yelp does not allow 1/2 star ratings. Superchefs is definitely a 4.5. Four stars is just utterly disrespectful to this restaurant. I've been meaning to travel to Louisville for some time to visit Superchefs, and this past weekend I finally made it happen. It was worth the visit. First, let's talk about the customer service. We got there at 2:50pm on a Saturday. Although they close at 3pm, they still allowed us to be seated and they did not rush us to finish. That type of customer service can only come from the owner and management on down. Back home in DC, someone would have been standing at the door waving patrons away. Of course I had the Wakanda platter and the Superchefs omelette. I had not eaten all day. When I saw the Wakanda platter and how small I thought the waffles were, I was already planning my next meal. I was completely full off the second waffle. My eyes were bigger than my stomach. The food was full of flavor and the prices are beyond reasonable. I even enjoyed watching the reruns of Guy's Grocery Games featuring the owner play in the background. Plenty of room inside, an attentive staff, food came out quick and hot, and the bill did not cause me a headache. I am certainly looking forward to my next visit to Louisville. My only complaint would be the price of orange juice. $10 for 2 large orange juice. Compared to the rest of the menu it seemed a bit pricy. Are these oranges flown in from some remote tropical location? Still, I'll be back and we're going to orange 2 large OJ's again. More...
