Adam was fantastic with our dogs, and catered his knowledge of training to each of their unique problems in order to help give us the tools we needed to ensure they are happy and confident pups. Adam was very kind to our puppy. That was one of the first things I noticed right away. He was able to encourage Charlie to get in the right positions and pointed out unique strengths in him. Charlie has worked through a lot of things and through Adam’s training, I feel my dog and I are pretty in tune with his needs while respecting my authority. This is one of the most worthwhile things I've ever done! Adam is amazing with dogs AND people! He explains his system right away so you know what you're getting into and then explains each step along the way so you know exactly why you're doing what you're doing. I did the training package where we met weekly and he came to where I live and worked with me and my dog. It was wonderful not having to drive somewhere only to be ignored because you're working with a large group of people. The one-on-one aspect is really nice because he can kind of customize things to your dog's needs. And the results are amazing! My dog pretty much acted like she was jacked up on Adderall 99% of the time before I started working with Summit Dog Training. This guy is absolutely fantastic-reliable, smart and frankly a lot of fun. He explains why he does everything very thoroughly and he’s not lying about the results - my dog is soooo much more under control now! I can’t reccommend Adam at Summit Dog Training enough. He helped us work through managing and improving the fear aggression our dog suddenly started showing as well as improving all his other commands. We had gone to sit means sit previously for e-collar training but I always felt like that program left me with a dog who was half trained. I can now say I have such a wonderful dog who I am able to take with me everywhere. We learned a wonderful new way to introduce him to dogs and I only have to say “come” once now. Our dog even responds well without the e-collar on and I thought that would never happen. His program is very well rounded and I couldn’t be more happy with the results. We first contacted Adam at Summit Dog Training for help with our new lab puppy. We had "trained" our older dog on our own a few years prior when he was a puppy, but wanted a little more structure in taking on the new dog. Right away Adam was responsive, energetic, flexible, and really fun to train with. We decided to do the once-a-week in-person sessions. I was a little nervous at first with how much of a commitment it was going to require from us outside of the sessions. But, having the weekly session with Adam, and then with us trying our best to be consistent throughout the week, I was AMAZED at how quickly she learned things and improved her obedience. The best thing about his training program is my husband and I learned just as much as our dog. The program is designed well, works on all the major skills with room to tailor it to your needs, and the skills build really well on each other. While Adam worked a lot directly with the puppy during the sessions, it was more focused on demonstrating for us and teaching us the skills to work with her too. He was able to give us immediate feedback on how we were using the skills with her and help us identify what was working best for her personality. That's what matters in the long run since we are with her for the long haul. Since the training has concluded for example, we've been able to use some of those training skills to help our older dog walk better on a leash (something he was never good at!). It's so exciting that we have have been able to start working on walking both dogs at the same time with a stroller, I never thought it'd be possible!Lastly, even though our formal training work is finished with Adam, I know that if we called him with any problem or question, he would respond and offer his help in a heartbeat. I am so happy I picked summit dog training to help me with my dog. He was so great to work with and really helped improve our dog with his fear aggression and other problems. I have spent a lot of money on other trainers and none of them were at good as Adam. I can’t recommend him enough.
