Web Design

To help anyone understand why I give StudioCRA a 5 star rating, and why StudioCRA deserves the highest rating, I have elected to go into substantial detail.
I am a retired lawyer with two Internet sites, www.cloud9photography.us and www.wowthewonderofwomen,com.
My major in college was Political Science.
College, law school, and life taught me these lessons: Honesty is rare and has an unique precious beauty. Ditto competency. Be leery of hype. Never squander your credibility. Trust but verify. Be kind, fair and gracious. The devil is in the details. Most people are immature--they grow older but not wiser and do not value wisdom. Most people do not have convictions, let alone the courage of their convictions. Most people follow the heard and are expedient and do not have a strategic vision or the tenacity to pursue their strategic vision. As a result of how I am programmed I am leery of people [I dealt with liars and BS artists all of my life]. When someone starts to drive me crazy because they will honor the deal I made with them, instead of me functioning like a patsy who empowers them to drive me crazy, I take away the car keys and shut them down and enforce my boundaries against them.
I have hired 6-7 web designers for my www.cloud9photography.us Internet site. I hated being dependent on them. All of them left a huge amount to be desired. As a group, it was clear to me they always put their perceived best interest first and they reduced me to a status of low importance. One even took my money, shined me on for months, failed to do anything constructive, and then admitted he spent the money and could not build the site he promised to build, and promised to repay me, which he never did.
My www.wowthewonderofwomen.com Internet site started out as a SmugMug site, where my Cloud 9 Photography site is parked.
For approximately 1.5 months many senior people at SmugMug had actual knowledge that my WOW site had galleries of totally nude women and others with a lots of bare breasts, and, for 1.5 months those senior SmugMug people took my hosting fee, etc., provided tech support and allowed me to continue to upload such pics, none of which are porn.
Then, bam!!! After I invested a lot of my sweat, time and energy uploading about 1,100 pictures to my WOW site on SmugMug, learning how to use SmugMug, a senior SmugMug official--the sake one who approved representative samples of the kinds of pictures I wanted to put on my art nude site, told me I was in violation of SmugMug's "family friendly" standards and I had to make all galleries that showed any nudity 100% non-visual to the public and also 100% non-searchable for keywords!!! That type of draconian censorship, to me, effectively killed the utility of my SmugMug art nude site.
I hate censorship. I hate SmugMug's flip flop on me and the many time consuming and expensive problems SmugMug caused me. SmugMug sucked me and for 1.5 months allowed me to believe what I was doing with my WOW site on SmugMug was okay with them, and, then, after I made that huge investment, they told me--firmly and repeatedly--I had to make my WOW site 100% "family friendly" or close it down or they would close down the entire site or at least the galleries with nudity.
Damn!!!
So, I then had to start to find a web designer to build me a censorship free Internet site.
I dreaded starting over. Absolutely hated doing that.
No local web designer would take on the task. They were either flakes who did not respond to my inquiries or they told me they found the art nude subject matter to be repulsive or they feared negative blow back if they got involved with it.
After a couple of months of searching I found a web designer who appeared to be very promising, Greg Goodman, and I ended up hiring him. Mr. Goodman started off having excellent rapport with me, and I had enormous confidence in him. I liked him for a lot of reasons.
Mr. Goodman and signed his contract and I paid him the required initial fee, about 25-50% of his total fee of approximately $4,500 to build me a new censorship free art nude site.
Unfortunately, soon after he started to work on my site Mr. Goodman unilaterally declared he was quitting and he would make a full refund and he was quitting because he and his team were convinced they would never be able to pleas me!!!!
I did my best to convince Mr. Goodman otherwise, without success.
While Mr. Goodman was, in some ways, gracious and he did make a full refund, he also wasted a good chunk of my time, delayed me, jerked me around, and put his perceived best interest before mine, and, to me, that makes him a flake who violated his commitment to me.
So, I was then back to zero [-0-], where I did not want to be, having to start over, looking for a new web designer, fearing the worst, a repeat of horrors from previous wed designers.
That search, by itself, was time consuming and it took a few weeks.
Somehow, I stumbled upon BARK and I reviewed web designers affiliated with BARK.
Somehow I came across reviews of one "Claudio Arguello" and StudioCRA, all of which were favorable. A few were somewhat detailed and highly praiseworthy for this Mr. Arguello, so I elected to call Claudio.
Claudio conducted himself beyond reproach. I experienced him to be credible, competent, honest, realistic, sincere, a trustworthy person, so I elected to pursue everything further with him.
I was always open and honest and upfront with Claudio, including problems I had with Greg Goodman. I was somewhat afraid to tell him about the problems I had with Mr. Goodman for fear that would stigmatize me in Claudio's mind or poison the relationship from the get-go, but, I am a firm believer in being truthful and factual.
Claudio, to his credit, did not seem concerned that Mr. Goodman baled out on me because he [Goodman] claimed he believed he could not please me.
I urged Claudio to just be assertive and share his best recommendations and reasons for same but once I make my decisions based on what he told me, build me the site I want based on MY decisions after I give full considerations to what he recommended.
Claudio said he was ok with that broad directive from me so he and I then shifted to contract negotiations and terms of hire and payment, etc.
Claudio and I then went over about 4-6 proposed revisions of the StudioCRA contract.
As an attorney, I did NOT like several critical areas of the original StudioCRA contract. Being a retired lawyer, I paid close attention to the contract's terms.
I believe the attorney for StudioCRA who drafted their standard contract had made it too one sided, in favor of StudioCRA, and, as a result, I balked and insisted upon revisions to make that contract more clear and more favorable to me.
Claudio, being the intelligent reasonable person that he is, said he understood where I was coming from and would try to get approval for the requested changes I wanted.
Claudio and I then, for about one month, went back and forth.
I came extremely close to walking away, disgusted with some of the contract's lopsided terms and StudioCRA's intransigence about making changes more favorable to me.
Once, I sense Claudio and I were at a breaking point. I was correct. When I was ready to forget it Claudio came right out and told me his superiors were not willing to make any more changes, so I had to take it or leave it. I was 100% disgusted.
I agree with President Donald Trump: If you cannot get the deal you want, walk away.
When Claudio told me, nicely, in effect, "take it or leave it", with a big tight pin on my nose, to close of the "stink" from the still lopsided StudioCRA contract, I, with extreme reservations, went ahead and signed the contract and paid StudioCRA one half of their fee, up front.
I did this for several reasons and one of the main ones was this: Claudio Arguello had earned my confidence.
Claudio was the "axle grease" that reduced my "friction" with StudioCRA.. He "saved the day".
I also knew that if StudioCRA did not perform to my satisfaction, American Express, which I used to make my first 50% payment, would intervene on my behalf if I complained.
As a bonus, StudioCRA's fee was about $800 less than Mr. Greg Goodman's fee.
Claudio proved to be worthy of the confidence I placed in him.
Claudio and his StudioCRA associates are very talented and, to their credit, they delivered to me a new version of my art nude site that is, in my opinion and that of some close friends, meaningfully better than the original version.
Claudio continued to make himself approachable and available. He was always friendly, competent, above board, helpful, and clear, etc.. What more can a person realistically want or hope for?
After I paid StudioCRA in full Claudio kept his promise and gave me a written detailed PDF that tells me what I need to know for how to upload images to my new art nude site.
I seriously considered not paying the last payment until Claudio gave me that PDF but I paid in advance, relying on my confidence in Claudio's integrity, and Claudio did not fail me.
I have not actually used that checklist so I cannot confirm that it is adequate but I have high confidence that it is.
My biggest, and in my opinion, meritorious criticism of StudioCRA is this: Their attorney should revise their standard contract to make it clearer and less lopsided in favor of protecting StudioCRA because, in my opinion, as an experienced attorney, parts of it are unclear, and, as a whole, is too lopsided in favor of StudioCRA, which tends to drive away a customer like me who takes the time to read it and pay attention to the details, the content.
One more thing I do not like about my arrangement withStudioCRA is this: After paying them almost $4,000 to build the site, they recommend I pay them a $110/month fee for three separate reasons, plus extra for tech support.
At SmugMug, I paid about $150/hear, period.
On the other hand, a different web designer quoted me a fee of $20,000 to build a new art nude site!!!
I told Claudio I needed to reduce that $110/month and, to do that, I eliminated the one service he said was the least important so the monthly fee is now down to $80/mth. I hate having to pay $960 per year after paying almost $4,000 to have the site built.
I did NOT like investing my time to write this long review of StudioCRA, but I did it primarily to honor and pay tribute to and manifest a meaningful "Thank you!" to a man I appreciate, like and respect, and hope to meet some day, Mr. Claudio Arguello.
After Claudio and his team built me the site I asked him for his honest opinion as to what I was like as a customer. I asked him that question because I was curious and I wanted to learn from him.
Claudio's answer to my question is credible. Claudio told me [paraphrased]: Peter, you were excellent to work with and easy to work with. You knew exactly what you wanted, you were specific, detailed, clear, prompt, flexible, and decisive, never wishy washy; yo did not flip flop or agonize or take a long time making decisions, which made my work for you much easier, and you were receptive to my suggestions.
I liked what Claudio told me and I am not surprised.
I am happy Claudio took me on as a client and did not abandon me as Greg Goodman did.
Looking back, while I have no idea what kind of a site Greg Goodman would have given me I am glad, in the long run, that Greg Goodman backed out because what he did lead me to Claudio Arguello and StudioCRA.
Now, I could have given StudioCRA 4-5 stars, with or without a brief explanation to support that rating, but, if I had been so brief, how informative, how believable, would that type of review have been?
Not much, in my not so humble opinion; thus, for better or worse, I sent into the detail I did, and I was upfront in discussing what I deem to be the "roses" and the "bricks" arising from my dealings with StudioCRA.
My Bottom Line: I am a hard grader and Claudio Arguello and StudioCRA, despite the negatives that I reported, earned a 5 gold star rating from me, for the reasons stated.

My galaxy s5 screen wae cracked, I tried to fix it myself. Big mistake. Do not watch those youtube videos and imagine your a phone repair man. I did get the screen off only to see the lcd was cracked as well. Took it to Ifix Galaxy and dealt with Tyler. Very professional and nice. He tried a couple of different screens and they would just not work. He was very apologetic and charged me nothing for his time (I would have lol). I did some investigating on my on and turns out the heat gun I used just fried it (Youtube videos said you can use a heat gun and don't worry the phones can take a lot of heat pffft). So I fried my phone and to pay it off and get a new one was about $600.00. So the lesson here is take it to a pro, though my phone was not repairable, Tyler was very professional and was right about it being a lost cause. I could have saved over $400.00 dollars had I just went to Ifix Galaxy in the first place. I will not hesitate to go back there if I have any future problems, BEFORE I destroy my phone trying to save a few dollars. More...

I had a very long drawn out repair time due to the limited availability of my phone's parts, but iFixGalaxy did a really great job keeping me updated with the whole process, and now finally a month later I am now reunited with my phone. With iPhones they said they have a much higher availability and only take 3-5 business days. My Galaxy Note 5 needed it's front display, back glass, and charging port replaced so everything took an extremely long time to receive from their vendors.On iFixGalaxy's part, they did a fantastic job, and I completely blame the limited availability of all the parts I needed for my repair on their vendors. I have had two experiences with them on a Mac Book Pro and have been very pleased with their knowledge and service. My screen became loose on my Mac Book after many years and was also cracking after an unfortunate luggage incident. I had it replaced in LA but it became unglued just months later. They replaced it with much better adhesive at a lower price. I am still in the middle of getting a new battery installed in my 2011 Mac Book and they have been great. They ordered a battery which turned out to be defective but they ran a complete diagnostic on the machine to rule out all possible problems. Just waiting on the new battery to show up. I am planning to have them come to my office to work on a icloud problem on my IMac which i really hope they can resolve. Good team there. More...

Customer service IS NOT DEAD!!! Last weekend I was frantically driving around St Lucie West trying to find someone, anyone, to help me with my iPhone 5c that had stopped emitting sounds. I went to iFix Galaxy after having found out from the AT&T store that they could not help me in any way other than to sell me another brand new wiz bang iPhone! This was not an option people as the phone was working perfectly well otherwise. I found out about iFix Galaxy from another phone repair store that did not have the parts in stock to fix my baby. Guess what! Not only did they have the parts, but at iFix Galaxy the store manager was able to fix my phone in LESS THAN AN HOUR for a total cost of $35!!! Now if that is not customer service I don't know what is.
