For anyone who is confused about how to get here - turn on Pershing and go straight to the dead end and find a place to park! They're the last door in the building on the right.I can't say enough good things about this gym!! I was in Portland for two weeks with the military and sadly spent my first week doing hotel gym workouts with only dumbbells and a treadmill. I was ECSTATIC when an acquaintance told me about this wonderful powerlifting heaven here in town! What was even better was the very reasonable price they charged me for 24/7 access for the rest of the time I was here.Basically, if you're a strength athlete, this should be your home in Portland. I wish I could afford to build a place exactly like this back where I'm from! More...

Best facility I've had the opportunity to train at. Affordable, no-nonsense garage loaded with top-notch powerlifting equipment, mobility tools, and accessories for every kind of lifter. Only complaint is that parking can sometimes be an issue, since there is no actual parking lot, only street parking. More...

Really fantastic powerlifting gym in SE PDX! SU has top-of-the-line equipment and plenty of it. No waiting around for a squat rack, bench press, or deadlift platform. Plus they have great stuff for all your accessory work. Kaylie and Tony are skilled, knowledgeable, and encouraging coaches. I’ve learned so much since joining and am a much better lifter thanks to their guidance. Whether you are just starting out, a seasoned pro, or somewhere in between, Strength Union is a welcoming community! More...

I moved back to Portland and joined a commercial gym, where I wasn't too happy. I found out about Strength Union, and have been with the team from the start. Tony & Kaylie are great coaches who provide informative & knowledgeable feedback. they are amazing athletes themselves, and push our athletes to become better. the environment of the gym is really something you would want in a powerlifting gym with top of the line equipment. The space itself includes a bathroom & shower, which is beneficial! The members are all nice, and it feels like one big family. I'm so glad I joined Strength Union. I would recommend it to anyone in the area. if you're visiting, definitely stop by! More...

One of the best decisions was to give this gym a try. If you're a serious powerlifter in SE Portland, then you should most def look into trying out this place. I used to be a commercial gym hopper, so training became hard and inconsistent. Then I found Strength Union! Been a member here for about 8+ months and I've added 50+lbs to all my lifts. Great environment and real knowledgable staff! Shoot if you sign up, you are guaranteed an A1 spot from me! More...

They're very knowledgable and have a strong presence in the sport of lifting and working hard. If you're intimidated by the idea of gyms of this nature, don't be. SU is very welcoming and you won't regret your time spent here... Unless maybe you're doing something like a 4x10 on deadlifts haha Come join the family! More...

Top notch powerlifting gym, when you first get there it seems small and as though it may lack everything you need to complete your workout but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The equipment and atmosphere are quality and the owner, staff and other lifters are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. I’m seriously considering a membership in the near future with Strength Union, and it is a plus that they are 24/7. The only downside for individuals who have never been there is that it’s difficult to find and if you put the address into the GPS it will take you to the wrong place (but still relatively close) and they don’t have a sign up outside with the gym name so you don’t really know that you’re there when you get there. If you call though they will help you find it and get there. I really enjoyed training there though and I will be back! More...

Strength Union is small and may be hard to reach at first, but they're everything you're looking for in a serious, professional gym. Dedicated stations for bench, squat, deadlift, overhand press, and more. Dumbbells run through at least 120lbs. They also have chains, bands, and various bars. The one shower they have works really well and the area is kept clean. They provide a safe space to keep belongings. The gym's owner/operator, Aaron, is a friendly/hospitable individual. Do bring a water jug though, as there's a fill up station, but not an actual spout.Free for first visit, $10 drop in rate. Will be using this gym as a companion to my main gym, Downing's Gym. More...
