I love strength camp Portland! I am recovering from 3 car accidents back to back and I can finally start working out again. Sophie is amazing! She listens, watches your form, and really cares about getting you to achieve your goals. I’ve had numerous personal trainers in the past but none of them compare to her! She asked me all my goals and I was very precise with the exact muscle groups I needed to strengthen. She has completely personalized all my workouts to where I can do them without any pain! I never thought I would be able to get back to this intensity of working out until I found Sophie and this awesome place! I highly recommend to anyone! I've been going to classes at Strength Camp for about a month, and am so happy to have found this place! I've been a member at traditional gyms off and on for the past couple years but it wasn't working for me. I would get so bored doing cardio on the treadmill or elliptical, and I almost never worked in any strength training because I didn't have the time or interest in designing a balanced routine for myself. At Strength Camp, I don't have any of these reasons to avoid the gym. I'm never bored because everyday is different. The workouts are planned and led by an experienced trainer, so all you have to do is show up. Finally, I've been surprised at how much I value the community aspect of Strength Camp. Everyone is welcoming and supportive, and it has been way more fun and motivating to work out in a group. I definitely push myself harder than I ever would working out alone, which is a huge plus in my book. I have always struggled with working out consistently and with finding a routine that works well for me. I've tried running, swimming, and doing self-led workouts at a gym, all of which only lasted for a few weeks at a time. I've finally found a workout structure that not only motivates me to show up week after week, it has actually become something I look forward to every day, which is HUGE for me. I walk away from every workout feeling stronger, more fit, and more accomplished. Strength Camp is more than just a gym, it's a community built by motivating, knowledgable instructors and kind, encouraging people who push you to be your best self. Almost three months back I was really struggling to emerge from the grief of losing my Dad. I was doing my best to eat well, and have always been pretty active (at the time I was working out at home, using various apps and YouTube), but I felt like I was in a rut that I couldn't seem to climb out of. I was starting to feel very isolated, anxious and depressed so my Doctor wrote me a prescription for Prozac. Shortly thereafter my Aunt encouraged me to join her for a workout at Strength Camp Portland. She had been going for several months and had great things to say, both about their Coach Phillip, and the community of people that she found there. I signed up for a two week trial, going Monday-Friday, first thing in the morning. I haven't looked back. I've never before been a morning workout person but I can honestly say that there hasn't been one morning since I joined Strength Camp that I have dreaded the workout. I really look forward to it every day. Phillip puts together challenging routines, that can accommodate all abilities, and leave you feeling accomplished and energized for the rest of the day. He is also a genuine, grounded person and truly cares about the growth and well-being of his clients. My fiancé and I have been training with Phil at Strength Camp Portland for 6 months and it’s the best thing that we could have done. I have a long, very long history of sports injuries. In the past I have tried to workout on my own and I manage to lose 20-30 but then I end up hurting myself and gaining them back. Having someone guide you and correct your form is very beneficial to get the most out of your workout. Over the years I have learned that there is a fine balance between pushing yourself and hurting yourself. I love that Phil is able to understand when I need accommodations on certain days when my knee is hurting. I know a lot of people are hesitant to sign up because they think that they cannot afford it, but when you stop eating out and cooking your own meals you actually start saving a lot of money. Strength camp is very different from other gyms and cross fit because it focusses on strengthening all aspects of you. It has definitely helped me become more physically and mentally strong. During my first week of the free trial I visited the cross fit that is two blocks away from my house and I ended up choosing strength camp over it although it is a 30-40 minute drive for me every morning. I highly encourage you to give the two week trial a shot, I promise you won't regret it. More...

This is for sure a place to learn your strengths and weaknesses build from the ground up proper form not injuring your body but build the best you that you can be. Work on your peaceful space and healing.Meeting wonderful people to call family and know you could have a terrible day and they will be there to support and work it out to feel that much better. I have been going to strength camp for about two months with my mom now. Phil is a fantastic trainer and super knowledgeable. He is great at personalizing everything so it is challenging for us at our own levels. SInce going here I have already begun to see positive changes. I am happier, more toned, and can do so many more things in everyday life because of the strength I am developing here. In addition Phil helped me train for a physical test I was taking in a month from joining. I passed and I never could have done that on my own. Phil's doing amazing things with Strength Camp. His sessions are very intense and the people that work with him are all very loving and supportive of one another. It's a great environment to work out in whether you're just starting or have been going for a long time. I'm a collegiate athlete (golf) and have been working out on and off my whole life. I started working out with Phil this last summer anywhere from 3-6 days a week. Every session is a grind, but the whole time he makes you aware of the amazing progress you're making. I cannot tell you how amazing Phil and Strength Camp Portland are, I have been working out with Phil for about 6 months and am seeing so many results - strength, speed, mobility, and all around wellness. Phil is a great trainer who has a ton of knowledge and passion for what he does. If you get bored easily while working out, Phil is for you. I joined Strength Camp Portland a month ago and committed to going 5 days a week and eating a healthy diet. Since then I've seen AMAZING results and feel STRONGER than ever! ! I can't stress enough how amazing this camp is and how great Phillip, the instructor, is. He provides a variety of class times that you choose from that fits your busy schedule. It's a non judgment free zone, and all the clients are extremely supportive and encouraging! Every class has an average of 5 people. Even though it's a group setting, it still feels like I have my own personal trainer. Phillip designs every workout that is catered to your personal needs.
