If it wasn't for the amazing French toast, I would of walked out. Service was terrible. I came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, walked in and there was no host or anyone around to seat us. I think there might of only been 2 people seated and 2 people at the bar. Not busy at all. Finally a woman sat us and she ended up being our waitress. Took our drink orders right away. It was 3 of us and only one of us got a drink from the bar. Took about 15 minutes just for her to bring the drink and finally come back to the table to take our order. Food took about another 30 minutes and was brought by what looked like one of the cooks or the bar keep. There was a side of ranch missing so we asked the gentlemen who brought the food for it. It never came and we never saw our waitress again. We got through the entire meal without our waitress coming by. And no refills. Finally I got up myself to look for our waitress. I found another lady and asked her to help us. She then told me our waitress suddenly left. No one told us or even bothered to take our table. We asked for a manager and lucky for them "there wasn't one in today and they only come around once and in awhile." What type of establishment doesn't have a manger on duty?? We visited the Brandon location last night, 7/20, for the first time. 1) Music from inside was audible in the parking lot, incredibly loud inside. A minor adjustment was made, but it still made conversation challenging. 2) I ordered boxtie with smoked salmon but was told they were out of salmon. There's a Costco less than a mile away, Publix a few blocks beyond that. How can you be out of a key ingredient? 3) My friend asked about happy hour pricing on drinks. Our server said she was new and had to check. That was a common theme with her. Her training was very clearly inadequate although she was very sweet. 4) I ordered fish & chips. The fish was delicious, piping hot with an incredibly crispy crust. The "chips" was a pile of soggy luke-warm fries. 5) We were a party of just two, but our server managed to mix up our credit cards when she brought them back. 6) I really wanted to convey this information to management directly but the web site has no option to comment or send an email. I've been in a couple times with different friends visiting from Clearwater and Orlando, they're impressed with the service and fulfilling dishes. This is a great spot, especially the outdoor patio, to catch up with groups of dear friends. I ordered Strandhill Public to go after being in the area and running into it! It's in a little tucked away area of Brandon in my opinion but worth a visit. The plaza it is located at has plenty of parking. I got the Irish whiskey burger and fries and it was good! I ordered medium rare but the burger was more medium. We have been wanting to try Strandhill Public for a while. They have really good reviews. The ambiance is so great inside and our server was extremely kind. I love this place! Great food and drink, and even better service! Had my birthday dinner there in February and it was wonderful! I wish google and Yelp would get the hours right for this location. They are not open as late as they say. I was told these times are a reflection of the Tampa location. Came in with a group of ladies on Friday thinking they would be open for another couple hours. They had just done last call 10 mins prior to close. We were disappointed and getting ready to leave when the bartender said "sit down ladies"! My girlfriend and I had dinner and drinks here the night before heading back to PA. They had delicious house drinks. Strongly recommend the "Fitzgerald's Cousin" and "No bell on your bike" drinks were delicious and strongly recommend them even if you're not generally a cocktail drinker. We also had the fried pickles and I have never had a fried anything with such thick breading. The Chef must be a wizard of some sort. More...

Two words: Elevated Irish. We came to try it out, in celebration, my wife, baby daughter, and I. We sat outside, the weather was quite nice, and so was the service. We got a couple of beers, Purple Haze, and ordered some food. We started off with the Irish Nachos, they were actually very good. My wife had the Smoked Ricotta & Tomato salad with a pan seared salmon, and let me tell you, that was delicious! I myself had the Corned Beef sandwich with buffalo cauliflower, very tasty, very filling! Overall the experience was quite enjoyable. Initially I thought it was going to be a bad night: it was St Patrick's, and also my wife and my anniversary, and as we walked in to celebrate, it was so busy and initially we were completely ignored by the staff. ... so we sat down at the first open spot in the bar, it was then that the rest of the night turned amazing: despite having a kitchen close down and initially forgetting to make our food 2 hours later, that Mr Austin Polk... went way above and beyond to make our night spectacular. He took care of us all night and I am not exaggerating.... almost 20 years of going to bars all over the world, this has been the best we've been taken care of by a bartender... ever. Would like to give it 5 star's because the food in the service deserves it. We will start there. Our waitress was extremely nice and very apologetic for the extremely loud music. Was in the mood for a burger but didn't want an ordinary one like to get everywhere else. Friend of mine had told me about their Irish whiskey Burger. So we ordered Irish whiskey burgers and some soda bread for a starter. I will say this the burger is definitely in the top three of one of the best around. Unfortunately our stay here was horrible. Our server must apologize at least four times put extremely loud music but he said he had a live band and they were in control of the volume. a couple next to us and the guy on the office side of us went outside and sit down because he couldn't hear. I could not even hear my wife one foot from us the server is actually came in between songs to take orders and see if you needed anything because you could not hear. we were going to stay for a while and order some extra stuff to take home with a shepherd's pie and the beef stew obviously that did not happen. we were most likely order it to take home with us another time or if we can find out when you don't have an annoying loud band. if you'd have had that about 1/4 of volume it was it would have been an extremely nice day. i had a get together for my husband's 50th .  They let us do this outside on the patio.  Great outdoor lounge area tented area for our party.  Everyone enjoyed the food. Service waa  great.  Awesome celebrating outside with friend and family. Well done! More...
