I went to Napa State Hospital because I was deemed, “tangential and have pressed speech.” That means that I tend to go off on a tangent and talk fast. I may be tangential but if the doctors listened longer than 2 minutes I’d have gone back to my point. I’ve always talked fast. My whole life. I spent 2 months in Napa $1,500 per day per person. What’s a standard SSI check $900! That’s for a month. I’m an advocate for Stop The Stigma. I know Johnathan Davis (Korn) is an active advocate for Mental Health. I believe the “talk about and stop the Stigma” part of the conversation extremely vital. I get more pressure from family about meds than I can almost stand. People know little about the process, meds, how/why they work or don’t but will be super quick to tell you, “you have to!” Just because they’re a ‘doctor’ doesn’t mean they’re the best one for you, period.
