A very good golf course making a come back. After years of neglect, the new owners have committed to restoring Sterling Hills to tip top shape like it was when it first opened. They have a long ways to go, but fairways and greens are in great shape (except for all of the ball marks...my God people, how lazy can you be?!)We played early and got around in 3 hours. Pro in the shop was extremely friendly, and they even gave us coupons for free breakfast or lunch.If you're looking for a fun, enjoyable and not too demanding track at a great price, I highly recommend. I was attending my Son's wedding. The staff was wonderful. The banquet room where the reception followed was very nice. Food was very good. Lovely surrounding grounds.

The new management team and Sam Gardner have turned this once pristine golf course around after the disastrous previous owner. ..who ran this course in the ground and did nothing but milk it and put nothing back into it . Those days are over . This course has undergone a metamorphosis. It was a complete awesome day playing here. You can tell they are working hard to change...and it shows . Greens are super true and wonderful to putt ...fairways are getting better than I’ve seen it in years .Sam is a great ambassador for this course and Mike made us feel welcome. The last time I was here the old people had an ex cop by the name of Steve Ramirez who has/had absolutely no people skills and chased people away with hassling them ...why spend money and have a person yell and constantly be irritated. Sterling Hills is an outstanding course for golfers of all abilities. Recent upgrades and changes have helped to resurrect Sterling Hills to its original glory. The condition of the fairways has been a noticeable and much appreciated improvement. It’s affordable rates and professional staff present additional quality and value. Love how the course is coming back into shape ! The greens were some of the best and quickest I have played on this year! The free lunch included in the green fee is a great treat too . The new owner and his excellent management team headed by Lee Harlow created the environment that makes you feel rewarded for being a loyal golfer. It trickles down to those that work at the facilities. They care about a golfers experience. The teaching pro Dan is for real and will not waste your time by getting to exactly what you need to learn without starting from scratch. The grill makes excellent food. Sandy the cart gal is as good as they come. I lost my wallet and it held a bit of cash. She found it and called me by the next day and not a dollar was missing. I been playing here since it opened. Since the new owners acquired the course they have been dumping every penny into improving a huge list that they intend to cross out one by one. It is the best I have seen in ten years and they are not done by any means. So realize, although it is not perfect, they can do a lot more to perfect it if you play it more often. Let's play it forward and watch it evolve because they are serious about making one of the best experiences anywhere around and remember Rome wasn't built in day. This is a diamond in the rough! With an abundant of courses surrounding Ventura county, my friends and i were surprised on how amazing this course turned out to be. Fast greens, challenging layout (similar to courses in Vegas), great staff and the burger is delicious for $55. Cant beat that! The only reason i put 4 stars is because some of the fairway greens were still under repair but will definitely be a 5 star when the new owner completes the TLC on this course! Already booked our next group outing at Sterling Hills More...

I went to a Woman's Luncheon here. The facility was beautiful. The views from the Banquet room were lovely. The bathrooms were nice. There was ample parking. The staff was very helpful. This is an absolutely beautiful club and course. The greens are so lush and were so fast the last time we were there.  The course was a pretty tough one but fun none the less. There were so many people playing who'd remarked at how wonderful the course looks now. Had I not heard those remarks, I never would have known that the course was making a comeback. The carts were in good shape and were free of damage or clutter. The driving range was so peaceful. I loved watching the butterflies flit about. My lil one liked to run back and forth trying to catch them. There was a special event taking place inside the main building and it was so beautifully decorated. I can see why people would host parties here. The staff were so friendly and everyone was just so nice. I'd like to go back some other time and check it out again and see if there have been any other changes or improvements that I might notice. Oh, and did I mention? The rates are so reasonable. DO NOT READ YEAR OLD REVIEWS!!! The new owner and management are fantastic! I played the course yesterday and it's in solid shape with great greens. I can see they have invested a lot of time and money into bringing back a course that was left to die (this takes time). As a golfer, where else can you play 18 holes with a cart, lunch and bucket of range balls for $40...NOWHERE! This is place is well worth it and I would suggest visiting and hopefully you enjoy the round as much as we did! More...

I've been golfing here for a few years now (Actually the first golf course I ever played). For awhile, the course really went downhill. However over the last 6-8 months I'm under the impression they're under new ownership. The new owners/management have really been doing a great job with the course. The gentleman Sam in the pro-shop is very friendly and helpful. The course has improved ten-fold over the last 6 months. Tee boxes have been leveled, fairways have improved greatly, greens are top notch, bunkers are raked and in good condition.
