Daniel and I can't begin to thank Stephanie enough for all of the stunning and beautiful shots that she captured for us on our engagement session. She was so kind and easygoing and knew exactly how to get us laughing and smiling. When we got the photos, I actually started sobbing at work! Stephanie did such a great job perfectly capturing our day! I cry every time I look at our photos. Stephanie did our engagement photos, and honestly I was cringing thinking what they would look like when we got them back because it was the day before I was leaving back to New Zealand for 7 months so we were pretty sad but they turned out beautifully and she somehow managed to capture some laughs and smiles out of us despite that and we love those pictures. Stephanie and Jarred also did our wedding photos and oh my goodness they are stunning!!! My father in law thinks we paid a lot more than we actually did and said she was worth every penny for those pictures, I agree. I have to find 1 picture of over 900 photos to send thankyou card and they are just all so good so choosing just one is tough!! I loved working with Stephanie, she was so easy going and accommodating and helpful. If you're in Central Illinois and want really great wedding pictures then this is who I would recommend! Can I be cliché and say, Stephanie deserves 1000 stars?! Because it's the truth. Let's start from the top. Throughout our entire engagement/wedding, we had to plan very well, or something was not going to work, because of other things going on in our lives(ie: internships living in different states).
Stephanie was beyond accommodating and made sure our engagement pictures were taken well before it was time for our internships to start. Not to mention, during the entire engagement process she was so quick to respond to emails and answer any questions. Her honesty, was what I appreciated the most. I was the bride who would see something and go “oh maybe I should do that” I would email Stephanie and she would walk me through the pros and cons and why she has seen it either successful/unsuccessful in the past!
Stephanie kept in contact the entire year we were engaged, but we really started planning everything out 3-6 months prior to the ceremony. What I mean by that is, scheduling the day of, ensuring all the right pictures were on the "photograph" list, etc. It made me (an OCD Bride, who was graduating college, getting married, moving, and starting a full time job all in the same month much calmer).
The actual day of the wedding was amazing, mainly because of the schedule she had developed. We were able to base the rest of the vendors schedules off of hers, it was perfect. We started the day with her and her husband arriving where they would catch the tail end of everyone finishing getting ready. We were running about :45 behinds schedule (trust me brides, it happens) but Stephanie planned perfectly and never once did I feel rushed. What happened next was the best part.
Once I got my dress on the emotions started coming to me. (I am crying sitting here thinking about it). The best part is, I have the pictures to prove it. Stephanie was right there, taking every moment in with me and it helps me relive the day, each and every time I look at the pictures. She captured the emotions we felt when Riley and I read our letters to each other, to when I cried when I saw my dad for the first time, to when Riley (husband) was trying not to cry as I walked down the aisle (he was trying to be tough, or so he says). She captured every raw emotion. Even the emotions I didn't get a chance to see.
In conclusion, I had seen Stephanie's work multiple times prior to booking her, and her photographs pretty much sell themselves. But the support she gives to the brides and the passion she has for her job, is what really makes me so thankful we picked Stephanie to capture our big day. Because of her, my husband and I are able to relive our wedding day each and every day--you really cannot ask for more!! If you are looking for a passionate, honest, caring, loving, talented, amazing photographer (who, by the way, gets your pictures back to you wicked fast) Stephanie Bartman Photography is who you need!

Stephanie did a great job at our wedding. For us, timing was everything as we wanted a short reception and didn't want an overly long period between the end of the ceremony and the reception.
We had a small appetizer hour at the church to give us time to get photos of the families and wedding party.
I've been in a lot of weddings and the most crucial element of a good wedding photographer happens BETWEEN shutters. If they aren't on top of getting people in and out of position, it drags on and makes for worse pictures because half the wedding party is sick of it.
She was on top of it and got everyone organized quickly and effectively. Our entire day went off without a hitch, which is impressive since we basically automated the entire process. That made timing even more important and she was an integral part in helping us accomplish what we wanted on our wedding day. We got so many compliments on how smoothly everything went and the pace of our wedding. She definitely contributed to making that possible.

Stephanie did an AMAZING job with our wedding. She made sure to capture the candid moments (which was very important to us) as well as staging some wonderful posed images that came out better than we could have ever hoped for. As part of a couple who tends to be camera shy, Stephanie made both of us feel very relaxed and brought out the best pictures that we have ever seen of ourselves! She perfectly captured the best moments of our wedding and even let us relive some of the moments that we missed in the blur that was our wedding day.
