Fries were good but the bang bang shrimp were just okay. They did have a DJ that was very good the night we were there.

The food is delicious and quick, but the service is slow and unprofessional. I've been numerous times during the afternoon because of the location being convenient. Yesterday was the last time I'll ever go. 3+ employees hanging out at the bar, they turn around to look at us walk in, shout to sit where ever we want. 5+ mins later, no joke, someone wonders over like we are interrupting their social hour. She brings us weak drinks and walks away to not be seen again until we call for someone, still at the end of the bar having a social hour ignoring us. The 2nd drink wasn't too much better and then when shift changed she was abrupt and rude to get us to close out with her. Expensive drinks for an afternoon too. The new sever never asked us if she could get us anything yet walked past us numerous times...we just watched her ignore us.I have only returned the several times I have because one of my friends likes the location. It's like your bartenders don't want to make money. The AC is out, I'm sitting at the end of the bar, and they are firmly affixed to the end of the bar talking to each other. I'll sit here and drink all nite and tip handsomely, but the ladies aren't even trying. This place could be great, but I'm bored, and I'm going somewhere else. And where the hell is Keri?? Also, this redhead is gorgeous, but she spends her time walking in circles waiting on no one. And the dude at the bar is only focused on the ladies at the other end. Get this place under control!! I'll start off and say the servers were great, made sure we had whatever we needed. The drinks we had here were okay. My husband and his friends had beer and a mixed shot. Both were fine. The food? Absolutely dreadful. I had a house burger. Dry yet undercooked. My husband had fish tacos..inedible. My husband's friend has shrimp and grits.. also inedible. Fries were somehow inedible. Service was terrible. Â Seated at 6:30 and waiter took drink and appetizer orders. After coming back three time to say they didn't have the ingredients to make a drink. Finally got drinks. Sat there until 7:30, Â nobody came back to take another drink order and still hadn't received the appetizers. People at bar who were seated long after us were being served food. I went in for brunch today, February, 20. It's winter... First, I'll say the food was great. Zero complaints about the food (French toast). Highly recommend their brunch. Thus, the 2 stars. I made it through my meal but physically could not stay any longer.For brunch we were told to sit wherever we like! It wasn't too busy so that was great. I quickly realized their garage door on the wall was open and it was COLD. It was 57 degrees outside (11:30am). I explained to the waitress that I have Raynaud's and asked if the garage door could be closed. She agreed to ask the manager (who was wearing a toboggan), who responded NO. The reason was because they were about to have live music. Despite having Raynaud's 57 degrees is cold in general. Anyhow, we moved to the opposite side of the restaurant, which didn't really help the cold factor. I don't believe my request was unreasonable. I think the accommodation would have been appropriate. It's ideal to leave brunch because you've finished your food or it's just time - not because it's so uncomfortable that you physically can't stay. There's that. More...

We found this gem today while walking around the Lakeview district and figured we'd give it a try. We were not disappointed. This place is amazing. We had the Wickles fried okra and pickles, shrimp and grits, and chicken and waffles (served with a velvet cake waffle). They were all very good. My daughter ordered some fries and they were unbelievably good. They have a huge bar with just about everything you could imagine and a lot of local beers on tap. Probably the worst experience I have had in Birmingham. Stale food, items no longer served still on the menu, and service that is subpar. We were charged for a $120 tip. Make sure you check your bank statements if you decide to dine here. Do not recommend going here at all. More...

Great ambiance, good drinks - but don't go if you're hungry. Right off, our server was not only inattentive (the bartender literally had to come from her station to take our drink order) but also not very knowledgeable about the menu (didn't know the fish of the day or what dressings were available for the salads). As far as the food itself, my partner and I were gravely underwhelmed. The Mac & cheese egg rolls were bland and tasted straight out of a box. The salmon (in its 'various seasoning') was drenched in this oily, salty concoction which took away from the taste of the actual salmon. The kitchen staff made zero effort at sprucing up the INSTANT mashed potatoes that were offered as a side. My gf's mahi mahi was stiff and gray, and the iceberg lettuce used for the salad was wilted and disappointing. After bringing our concerns to the attention of our waiter he agreed that "the m&c egg rolls and potatoes are THE two least favorite items on the menu". Fine time to make a suggestion, eh? To top it all off, after using the contactless payment option (nice) and leaving a gracious cash tip despite the overall experience - I wake up to review my bank transactions only to find an additional $20 was added to our final bill. Looking for a nice place to relax, grab a drink a a bite to eat...this is the place. This restaurant was formally known as Sky Castle and has been open for 2-3 months. The space is spacious, nicely decorated and can easily fit a large group of people. Â This is a prime location as its right off of the interstate and conveniently located in the Lakeview part of downtown.I ordered the fried pickles and wickles as an appetizer and the chicken phill cheesesteak with fries as my entree. The food was made to order and was absolutely delicious! You can tell that the food was freshly made and not something that was frozen and then warmed up to serve. Very subpar experience.I had visited here before when it was Sky Castle but this was my first eating here with friends from out of town. We ordered beer specials (1/2 off local beers) and upon receiving my receipt I found out that local sours are not as discounted. Make sure to clarify with your server before you order. We ordered the trashcan nachos for appetizers and they were probably the best part of our entire experience. We each ordered the Doc burger and here is where things start going downhill. Upon arriving at the table, you could immediately tell the bun was not very intact. It basically disintegrated upon the first bite. The burger was overcooked and rubbery in texture. My friend ordered the loaded fries (which includes a $2 upcharge) and was extremely disappointed. The cheese was not completely melted and the sour cream was smothered over the top. It took away from the fries themselves which I thought were ok by themselves. Really expected better after my friend recommended the place to us. This used to be Sky Castle and still kind of similar to that, which I love! They have happy hour from 4-6. The HH specials are limited to beer and $1 off wine, no food specials for HH - hope they add that  and wine/cocktail specials eventually. The restaurant is aesthetically nice ... cute sofas, seating, cow rugs, nice outdoor patio seating, several TVs playing sports, super long bar and it's pretty spacious in there. The food was good!
