Steel Fitness Riverport

As a member of many training facilities during my life and now happily at Steel Fitness Riverport, one thing I can say is it is hard to keep members happy at any gym. I am one of them but I have come to realize that if I always chase brand new equipment, the next best cardio class or the social scene that my intentions were skewed and never achieved my goals. In the end it is about the gym culture that will get and keep you there once you have made the commitment to your healthy lifestyle. This is why I want to share some kudos to this gym for its unchangeable positives and for proactive changes I have seen in the last few months that check all the important boxes for me. 1. Great location and rate2. Indoor parking 3. Staff was friendly and helpful but seems more outgoing now 4. Workout areas are kept clean and see vast improvements in the locker rooms 5. Mutli level workout areas and a unique outdoor space provides less distractions 6. All the staples in weight training equipment and machines is in great functioning shape and new equipment being added 7. Cardio Equipment is quite expansive in selection and timely repairs being made as needed 8. Building maintenance appears more active and is on top of paint, keeping the lights replaced and utility tasks9. Appears they are adding adult and youth classes in their very own areasFor these reasons I will remain a member and would like to say thank you to the those responsible making it a great place to workout. I love this gym... I especially love the Kids Zone, and so do my two littles(6yrs and 3yrs old) They have fun in the play room, and I get to workout in peace knowing they are in a secure and clean space. Our favorite KidZone caretaker is Miss Mandy! My daughter looks for her everytime we hit the gym, and will talk about all the fun things they did long after we leave the gym. More...

I really enjoy classes but a lot of the gyms around me don't offer them. I first tried this gym using a groupon coupon for 10 sessions/classes. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed my overall experience. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The classes worked well with my work schedule and the gym is always clean. The instructors are helpful and enthusiastic. I'm already feeling stronger and more in shape.I officially joined the gym about a month ago and I'm happy with my decision. More...

Great gym, fair pricing, always have a good experience here. The gym is never super busy like others allowing you to come here and workout without fighting over machines. Nice area space. Good clean equipment. Attractive customers. Plenty of lockers plenty of showers. Could use more toilets though in the mens room. I really enjoy being a member of this gym. It's a well equipped gym with three squat racks and all the equipment I need to do my daily workouts. There are two floors--the second floor consists of the locker rooms, elliptical, and treadmills. The main floor has the weight machines and free weights. There is also a large open room where classes are held. I'm usually there at late hours when there is no class in session, so I'm able to use that space for my own workouts. If there is a class going on, there's also a smaller sized open area on the second level where you can do your own thing. They also offer towel service, free wifi (fast enough that I can watch Netflix while on the treadmill), and the front desk staff are always friendly and welcoming. The only complaints I have are: limited hours on the weekends (they close at 7pm), no stair master, and no one wipes down the equipment after use. More...

Not as spacious as alot of commercial gyms, but it has everything you need. The staff and trainers are well trained as well and friendly. The patrons are nice too and not alot of meatheads or growling power lifter guys. I feel comfortable working out here and not like im in a competition for miss america. The facility is clean and equipment is new. The monthly fees and down payment arent the cheapest but you get what you pay for in life. Overall a very good gym. More...

In all honesty the gym has lots of perks that outweigh its downfalls. The price can be a bit steep for the size of the gym but all of the equipment is kept clean and if anything is ever broken it is usually fixed within a short time. An added benefit of the higher price comes a more mature community as well, haven't experienced too many rude people. Some complain about classes getting in the way although I've never experienced this. Trainers are very nice and helpful, workers are there to assist if needed. There is a wide variety of machines and plenty of weights. Parking is fine although at its peak hours the gym can be slightly crowded but never to the point of impeding a workout. A true gym ! Less talking, more training going on here. I can work out, hit the sauna, and don't have to worry about bringing a towel as they are provided here. I typically always did strength training with weights, but the classes offered here like TRX, Climb, and high intensity classes really caught my attention and gave me a more well-rounded training routine.
