Went to a private event at State & Fig. The restaurant was reserved for a wedding rehearsal party. It was an intimate venue and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pre-fixe menu had a few different options for all the different tastes and diets. I ordered a great vegan starter (spring mix salad with mini avo toast), vegan entree (1/2 order polenta covered in roasted veggies and 1/2 order mushroom risotto covered in roasted squash), and a vegan apple tarte. Delish - would recommend for some good California coast cuisine and beverages! More...

Yummy brunch!! Loved the food. Do yourself a favor and don't, for any reason, sit inside. It's so incredibly loud and echo-y we were cringing just trying to make it through it our meal. Couldn't imagine going there with a hangover, I'd die. We asked to get placed outside instead where there were clearly open tables and we were turned down. More...

Mac and cheese was amazing. Excellent ceasar salad. Service was good, but it isn't a place to go if you are in a rush.

The breakfasts are good, though a little limited. And the prices have gone up quite a bit lately so they aren't really much of a deal any more. Certainly better than Jeannine's, with a calmer ambiance. Pet peave is that thier tip estimate includes tax in the basis, which is sleazy. More...

A lovely spot to relax and enjoy a nice lunch, especially when it is a warm sunny day. Tucked away off an interior courtyard walkway that is generally quite and peaceful. Both inside and outdoor seating available. Food is good and local Santa Ynez focused wine list is pretty decent for a small cafe/restaurant. Nearby parking available in a public lot. More...

Second time here. We ordered two dishes, chicken panini and short rip benny special. The panini came first and we really enjoyed it. The short rip took longer than 20 min, the server told us that the kitchen has problem.Later on, she brought the rips for free due to the belated serving. The price is reasonable for big brunch. I recommend this place. There is one restaurant right next to here, but that is more crowded and a little loud. More...

The Service: Our server, Doug, is so wonderful!! Very attentive service and very professional~ He is super knowledgeable about the menu. The Food:Fig Toasts - Grilled crostoni, ricotta, fig jam, arugula, lemon EVOO (the crostoni crunchy outside & so soft inside! The fig jam is not overly sweet, it totally compliment the rocotta cheese. Wonderful appetizer!)Tuscan Sausage & Kale Soup - Grilled bread (hearty soup, perfect for cold weather. Lots of ingredients inside the soup, every bite is full of surprises!)Braised Short Ribs - Roasted carrots, soft polenta, arugula, pecorino, truffle essence (the short ribs totally melt in my mouth, super tender. The polenta is a little bit cheesy, love the texture!)Great outdoor seating area. More...

Love the location, nestled in amongst several shops and other restaurants. House Benny was great, and the gentleman in the kitchen was very gracious about my eggs Benedict order right when they stop serving at 2:30 pm. Fried chicken was very interesting, and house made potato chips were delightful. Sandwich buns were delicious. More...

State & Fig is a great place for lunch, tucked in a small walkway of different shops/restaurants. I came for a late lunch on a Monday around 3pm and pretty much had the whole place to myself. I had a portebello mushroom panini and couple bites of the fig burger. The portebello mushroom panini included a generous amount of red bell peppers. The bread had a touch of pesto sauce and it all melted nicely together with provolone cheese. This also came with a side of arugula salad. I loved how they put the vinaigrette dressing on the side.I had a few bites of the burger and it was just ok. I did enjoy the fries that came with, lightly crunchy and not overly salty.Service was ok, can't complain, prices were fair. I'd come back to State & Fig in the future. More...
