I'm new to the neighborhood and decided to try this hidden gem. Â The food is good, but that's not the reason I'll keep coming back. My dad asked me if I wanted a mango lassi. Â Because I have a severe dairy intolerance, I just double-checked with the waitress on the ingredients and she confirmed that 'yes, there is yogurt in the lassi'. Â From that one comment, she remembered me and came up to me while I was going through the buffet to tell me that the items I was putting on my plate had dairy in them. Â Because these items were not clearly marked on the placards, I truly appreciated her taking the time to point out the dishes that were dairy-free! Â The wording ''made with coconut milk, does not mean dairy-free, I learned. Â She even brought me my own naan bread without butter. Â I could not have asked for a more attentive wait person. Got tired of eating the same old stuff everyday and anted to try this place because I pass by it quiet a lot while driving. The staff is very attentive and kind while willing to answer any questions about the food you might have.I had ordered the tandoori shrimp and was slightly disappointed when I found it only had five pieces of shrimp in it, but after eating it I discovered why, these shrimp were huge, about the size of a child's fist and with the mountain of rice given as a side I came out filling very full and ready to nap.About the only issue I had with the place were some of the prices for items such as biriyani, which back home in the DFW area you could find for $12 and below. Some of the best Indian that I have found in Denver, hands down. Everything was amazing and portions are HUGE for what you pay compared to other Indian restaurants I have been to. The owner came up to my friend and i because it was our first time and made us feel at home and gave suggestions of house favorites. He ever brought us an appetizer on the house! We probably had 5 or 6 different people taking care of us so I assume that they pull tips but everyone was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend if you want authentic Indian and will return! Wonderfully run, but more importantly authentic and absolutely delicious! I was in recently with coworkers for a quick lunch. The buffet was hot, fresh and constantly monitored (versus sitting, stagnant, etc.). It's so far and few to get a quick AND delicious meal. The naan was delivered hot and fresh to your table. We have been trying several Indian restaurants in the southeast area. I think we found the restaurant to keep coming back for Indian food. We typically order take out when trying restaurants We started with the onion bhaji which was crispy and full of flavor. The garlic cheese naan was great along with the cilantro sauce. The main dish was the curry chicken tikka masala, medium, with rice which was rich in flavor with tender chicken. The favorite was the biriyani chicken rice. This was unbelievably great. It was on first time at Star of India and the owner Gar was absolutely gracious. He comp us a couple of veggie samosas which were tasty. The food is so delicious. I've gotten mine to go twice and was not disappointed. I suggest the veggie samosas, saag, chicken tikka masala, naan bread, pretty much anything though.

As you walk in, be prepared to be surprised! The strip mall location transports you to a different world. The decor is truly incredible, and I wish I would've gotten photos. This gave me high expectations for the food. Service was prompt and the food came out quick. The chicken in the chicken vindaloo was well overcooked, and if, you're into spicy food, I recommend getting a 10/10 on the spiciness scale because 8/10 wasn't much. The vindaloo was fairly disappointing in terms of flavor as well. It was more like a spicy marinara sauce. What a place!Clean, very tasty not too spicy or salty and fresh!They close the buffet at 2:30 for evening reopening every day. the owner was there he saw me and my 19 months old. Visited this place yesterday and I was beyond impressed with the buffet. I'm from the Indian subcontinent and believe me I am picky about my Indian food. Every single item I tried on the buffet was top notch, and seemed to be freshly made unlike some other Indian restaurants that I have been too. The flavors and the spices were authentic and delicious. They also bring freshly baked naan to the table when you do the buffet. I'm not a buffet person but everything looked very fresh and hot so I tried it. Â Everything was great. Â My GF is a celiac and this turned out to be one of the most gluten friendly places we have ever been anywhere. Â The waiter was friendly understanding and helpful.
