I made a reservation for the 1st time at this fairly highly rated hotel. I have stayed at the Green Bay Aloft for many years with great success and wanted to try a new GB hotel. I am a Packers season ticket holder thus my season-long need for a room every Fall. I expected some sort of response from the hotel when I had just a few questions about our upcoming stay. Not a single response. Nothing. I have cancelled our reservation for a wedding weekend because they do not seem to read their emails, or simply decide not to answer questions. This place was a huge surprise to us. We live by and have walked past multiple times and never thought to check it out. This time we did and the food, service, and beers were amazing! !! Food was solid. Host was pretty much absent. Servers were friendly and efficient. Ambiance was nice but seemed a bit forced. We came in and several minutes when we were finally had the host acknowledge us -- when we indicated we had reservations, he waved vaguely at the dining room and told us to sit whereever we wanted to. It was a Saturday evening at 6:30 and the dining room was less than 1/2 full -- it did not really fill up as the evening went by. On the far opposite side of the Inn there was a severely elevated outdoor dining area that was all but deserted on a lovely evening. Nothing "special" on the drink menu (lots of beer and alcohol, nothing interesting that was not alcoholic). The appetizer menu was uninspired so we passed. I had the beef pot roast with mashed potatoes, my companion had bangers and mash. The pot roast was very nice, but did not have enough gravy. The bangers and mash were exactly what my partner wanted but he said that he had hoped for sausages that were a bit more special. Both came with a vegetable mix -- which was a vegetable mix (green beans, carrots, and cauliflower) The Irish look was all over. Was a great place. Service lately has fallen off a cliff. Last two times, hostess literally tried to talk our party into leaving and saying they were busy (tables half empty) and maybe 45 min wait, maybe an hour. I have been to this restaurant a number of times over the past years. So when I had the chance to take my husband there for the first time, I was excited to have him experience this place. We made reservations. We arrived early last night, and were taken to our table by the host, who immediately brought us water and menus. From that point it was half an hour before a waitress finally came to take our drink and food order. It was a good 20 minutes before we got our drinks. Twenty minutes later the waitress came and handed us our check... saying "I see you have finished your meal!". We quickly advised her that we had NOT received our food yet!! Another 10 minutes passed before she finally brought us our food... which was cold and sloppily thrown onto the plates. We had an appointment to get to, so we quickly threw our inedible food into boxes and demanded the check. Note: By this time we had been there for over an hour!!! I paid the $63 bill. We stopped here after a Packer's game even though Yelp said it was closed. The hostess was fine with seating us and was a very attentive waitress after seating us. Hubby got the Shepherd's Pie and said it was very flavorful. The only thing he would have liked different was to have had bread or a roll to clean up the bowl!! I had the bacon wrapped pork medallions with a garlic, whiskey sauce. There were three good sized medallions, mashed potatoes and some sautéed root vegetables. Great pub with bartenders that know how to pour Guinness. Friendly after game crowd with lots of regulars. Had the lamb shank which was cooked to perfection with an amazing sauce. Very satisfied!!

This review is for the Inn, drinks in the bar and breakfast in the restaurant. Got to the Inn on a Wednesday two hours before check in. They made sure our room was ready and let us check in early. I understand with staffing shortages that wouldn't always be possible but this rainy day, it sure was nice. We loved our room with the wide open look. Clean, neat and really good coffee. After touring Door County, we arrived back at the Inn about 8:00 and headed to the bar. Bartender woman was very hospitable, drinks were reasonable and people were convivial. She even let us stay a bit beyond closing. Breakfast was part of the deal so our omelet chef cooked up some fine eggs and we got a head start to begin shopping, heading to the Pro Shop at Lambeau Field. We were visiting from out of town and it was our friends birthday. She said she wanted to try st. brendans for dinner. Nobody had been there before, so we decided to try it. Walked in at 6:05 and was greeted by a young lady. We told her we had a party of 4 for dinner. She took our name and said it would be about 15 mins. At 6:30 she came out and apologized for the delay and it should be just a few more minutes, that they were short staff in the kitchen. At 6:55 a young man told us that the owner was having a party in the next room and wanted his food cooked first (bad customer service on the owners part). We were finally seated at 7:10 (and by the way, the place was half empty). We finally ordered and was served at 7:40. The food was ok and that was it. One of the greatest Rubens I have ever had. Sandwich was piled high with VERY tender chunks of corned beef. The sandwich was NOT greasy as some Rubens can be.
