About

We start with our website design clients by getting the full picture - what they do, what their goals are, and what they like and dislike about websites they visit frequently.

Rather than working from the ground up, we select a pre-built Wordpress theme to use as a starting point.

I found Sarah through a business networking group on Facebook. I had a fantastic and stress free experience working with this firm. Sarah explained the process to me up front, helped me tremendously with content, and answered all my questions quickly along the way. I know nothing about web site design and development so I needed someone to take the ball and run with it. My site went up in short period of time which was great. It's sleek, functional and easy to navigate. I get compliments on it all the time. I highly recommend working with Sarah and have already recommended her to colleagues and friends. More...

There are website developers, and then there are SUPER website developers. I had the pleasure of working with Sarah directly at Spencer Austin Consulting. She was referred to me when I needed a website developer to redesign my site in which I display my art... In order to compete and remain up to date, my website needed to be visually stunning and professional looking.  From the start Sarah worked with me to develop a working theme and look for my site. She was able to present some pretty awesome looking themes and thus I was able to pick the one that fit me best.  The entire step of the way she worked with me closely and was VERY patient with me since I was asking for a lot and her rate was  beyond reasonable; what she did for me was a gift!Technical issues... As an artist/ designer, they always come up in my line of work so I expected it when we were working together. Keep in mind that I am going to be picky since my work is visual. I need my site to look exactly how I needed it to, as well there are some technical aspects. Sarah was patient with me, worked with me, presented options with  me. She never once shut down or gave up saying "I can't deliver this, sorry" it was always I want to work through this, and she did and in the end delivered a top notch site with a fast turnaround.Sarah is very astute and I am forever grateful that she was so willing to be there for me and work with me to provide me with such a professional website. I have other sites as well and when it is time, I will be reaching out to her once again. In the mean while I am recommending her to whomever crosses my path. Thanks again!P.s. I don't think my site has had this much traffic in quite some time, and it's mostly me admiring it on a regular basis! :) More...

Q&As

A great website is well thought out, visually appealing on all devices and easy to navigate for site visitors. Website's should encourage visitors to learn more about a business or organization without difficulty. It should also be a positive experience since typically the first point of contact between a potential client/member with the organization is via the internet.

What are the goals you'd like to achieve for your organization with this project?
What are some of your main concerns with hiring an outside web designer/developer?
Do you have a timeline in mind for this project? (We like to beat timelines)
What do you dislike about your current website (if applicable)?
What do you like about your current website (if applicable)?

I love exceeding client expectations. Being able to prove that reliable and honest website designers exist and being able to take the worry and stress out of website design/redesign for my clients is the best feeling. I also love the creativity that goes into designing a website, at the end of a project is always feels like I've beautified a small corner of the internet, and that feels pretty good.

While in college at the University of Maine at Farmington, I interned for two different non-profit organizations managing their websites and Facebook pages, and really liked it. After graduating I moved from Maine to California and began working at Advocacy & Management Group, Inc. (AMG) in Sacramento. I started in membership services, processing client members’ dues payments and helping with event coordination. I soon realized that we could manage our clients’ social media profiles more effectively if one person focused solely on them, and delegated other administrative tasks to other employees. With the support of my boss I became that person, learning as I went about what worked for each client. Eventually I was promoted to Digital & Social Media Manager, and was tasked with managing client websites as well as social media accounts.

I loved my time in Sacramento, I learned a lot about myself and about digital and social media management. While working at AMG, there was always this thought in the back of my mind that I would someday like to be my own boss. Then, seemingly right on cue (funny how life works this way), my husband was accepted to Harvard Law School, so the opportunity arose to move back across the country and create a career for myself.

I have experience working with a variety of organizations and creating new Wordpress websites that they can be proud of. Many of them I still work with in some capacity today. I pride myself on quick response times while also making sure that projects are done correctly the first time. I want clients to be actively involved in the planning and content of the website (as much as they'd like to be), but I don't want them to have to worry about the backend technical details that can be overwhelming. I will not be unresponsive after launch, quite the opposite, I make a promise to clients to check the site regularly for updates and any issues and I'm an email away if anything arises. Finally, unlike other designers, I also provide thorough written instructions (and screenshare recordings if requested) for all of the day-to-day edits the client might need to make after launch. These instructions contain everything needed to maintain and edit the website in one place (including all logins - hosting, domain, and Wordpress).
