I have been going to Nancy's shop for a few years and I am just now writing a review. I moved away from Braintree and make the half hour trip just to get my nails done. The spa is spotless and full of light and great energy. The nail techs are professional and take their time with you. There are always plenty of techs available. The pedicure tubs and chairs are new , the chair massage is wonderful! The tub is lined with plastic for additional sanitary protection. Get the extra 10 minute leg massage for $10 just heavenly. Spa by Nancy is my go-to nail salon! My mom and I always have excellent service from all of the staff and I am always getting compliments on my nails. Rose and Nancy do a great job with waxing and I most recently went to Henry for my pedicure and gel manicure. He was extremely meticulous and I was more than happy with my nails. The gel section is organized and makes it simple and easy to find a matching polish color. First off, this is a full service salon. Everyone is good at what they do and there is always a back-up. I have been coming to Spa by Nancy for the last three years. My hair stylist recommended them and they have been excellent from day one. If you make an appointment they are ready for you when you get there. If you don't make an appointment, you are never waiting past 15 minutes, and if they are that busy they will let you know. I have received a deep pore facial and the results are wonderful. The owner Nancy did my first one and Ty one of her esthetician did the second one. Both were fantastic. I recently started getting eyelashes...OMG to DIE for. Vicky is the esthetician that does the eyelashes and she is great. I am always getting compliments on them. I have her cut them, cause I wear glasses at times. She has been out and I had to have the lashes refilled and Elaine, Nancy's daughter did an amazing job. They called me ahead of my appointment to let me know that Vicky was out...did I still want to get them done? Duh, Yes!!! Elaine did an excellent job. The prices are VERY reasonable, the services are above reproach. I will always recommend them. Oh, the bikini wax...very, very good!  Lenka is at the front desk, but don't let her fool you. She keeps everything organized and very professional without being impersonal. I love all of the ladies...oh, any type of skin issues, talk to Lenka she will have an answer, if she doesn't she makes excellent recommendations. I think of them as my personal GLAM squad!!! I love Spa by Nancy! This is my go-to nail salon, and I've truly never had a bad experience here. I come all the way from North Quincy and I'm always so glad to have dropped in for a gel mani and pedi! The ladies who work here are all very nice and very professional. It's also clean and inviting, and there are lots of gel colors to choose from. I always try to come with cash for tips, but if I forget, there's an ATM right in the lobby.I've never had to wait in line here either. Great place with excellent service! They took my daughters and I in a pinch and stayed 45 minutes past closing time. My youngest and I got our acrylics filled and painted with gel (lots of great color options) and my other daughter got a pedicure and they all turned out great. Will definitely be coming back here. I really like Nancy's. I was recommended here when I moved to Braintree by a friend and have not had a bad experience. The most recent time I went, they used hot stones to massage my legs before the polish and that was an unexpected treat! Awesome service everytime. Been a customer for 7+ years, before they moved to this beautiful building. I'm not good with committing to a set time so I normally just walk in. Never had to wait and nancy is so quick to grab an amazing nail tech to service me.Had a pedi 2 1/2weeks ago and shellac less than a week ago. Lynn did my nails here for almost a decade+.  Problem is she's been working there so long that she has many regulars (like me), so it's hard to get an appointment with her these days - she's always busy.  I used to be able to walk-in and see her but no more.  Her foot massage is excellent and her polish is absolutely perfect.  She did a great job with my in-growns and always nips my cuticles perfectly.  She's really a nail expert and would always be my #1 go to nail person if she was consistently available on short notice!  There is plenty of polish to choose from here, they have affordable disposable flip-flops if you forget yours, they'll do extra foot massage for $1/minute (always worth it), and they added hot towels to their service several years ago which made it even better.  I've never had a polish last as long as Lynn's paint job either - it's so weird to see peeling paint on my toes because she kept them perfect for so many years. I love this place! I know it doesn't have any fancy decor, and it looks like a typical nail salon but time after time they do such a great job! I am very picky when it comes to what I like done to my nails. I happen to be someone who's cuticles need a lot of loving every time I get a manicure. I had Lily and I happened to mention that my cuticles are always a lot of work. She made my nails look so nice they looked fake. It was great.I got one of those new manicures that they bake in between layers. It was called Gelish. They had tons of colors to choose from and it was only $25. It lasts for about 2 weeks, which is a lot better for me.  I am a nurse so usually manicures don't last long anyway on me, but no the Gelish. Lily made them look so great and they lasted 2 weeks =)The do only take cash, which is a bummer, but yes there is an ATM across the street. The parking is also not great, they have street parking and then a few spots in the back, but whatever that is what you are going to get for any salon on a main st. The doors are a little confusing. They have 353-355, so it is a couple of units, so there are 2 locked doors and 1 that is open for customers. My sister also went here with about 5 of her friends and they all loved their nails as well. I will definitely be going back here. More...

I've gotten my nails done here a few times (overall I don't get my nails done very often anyway) and may have found my first go-to nail salon. It is affordable ($12 for a manicure) and clean (they have sanitizers at every station). They also give a discount when I only get decorations done on 2 nails rather than all 10.My only gripe is that the polish chips easily and quickly. I work with my hands a lot so I understand that my manicures probably get more wear and tear than most people, but when I got a mani/pedi the day before my vacation last month (and didn't have to work in between) every other nail was chipped before the plane even landed. I was hoping they would at least last until I got back to work.I wish I remembered the name of my last stylist because she did a fabulous job. She found a pink that matched my new bathing suit perfectly and did cute white flowers on them. They looked really beautiful so I was pretty disappointed that they didn't last the whole week. She chatted with me while doing my nails, which is great because I hate it when you have someone who just ignores you/talks to their co-workers the whole time.It's also really convenient that they are within walking distance of my apartment because everything in Braintree is so far apart for someone used to living in the city (besides, there's not much parking). They take walk-ins too, which again is great because it's so close and I can just decide on a whim to get my nails done if I'm bored on a weekend. More...

I have been getting my nails done now for about 7 years, and this place is the best I have ever gone to! They are so friendly and the cool thing is when I was getting a pedicure they were doing my refill at the same time which saved sooo much money!

I love this place. It's the only place I go to get my nails done.  I've never had to make an appointment, there is always enough staff on to do walk ins. They're friendly and clean and the staff knows many of the costumers by name. They always do such a nice job! And it's not too pricey! More...

I've been a client for 9 years. I see a specific tech. and make my appts. ahead of time. I suggest everyone make an appt. The walk-in traffic is high and in her quest to make everyone happy, nobody is turned away . That needs to be managed better. Nancy gets very upset when her clients are upset and you can feel the tension in the salon when it's overcrowded and many people are waiting. As for the language barrier, if you see a specific tech., take the time to talk to her - the longer you do that, the more you will understand. I do believe that all of the technicians should be asked by Nancy to speak only English in the salon - that will (1) improve their English and (2) not make clients feel as though they are being talked about. It's also obvious when Nancy is scolding the girls - you can hear the tone in her voice and it makes things a little uncomfortable. Such scolding should take place in the back room. Even if we cannot understand what's being said, we can tell that scolding is going on. I wish they would take debit/credit cards and I know many people feel the same way. As for color selection, she has the best in town. However, a lot of the polishes are very old and should be discarded (or replaced if a new bottle is available). They continue to use very old polish. There is a lot of competition in Braintree Square as well as South Braintree Square. In fact, a new place just opened directly across the street from Nancy's. I know the fear is that if they don't take the walk-ins along with everyone else in a timely fashion, they'll leave and go elsewhere. That may be the case with the stray walk-ins who have never been there before but I don't think the regulars who have been with Nancy for years are going anywhere. Once you are a regular client of Nancy's, you become one of her 'sisters' and you get to know the girls by name and it's a very comfortable, affordable place to be. More...

An absolutely excellent salon with a very professional and skillful staff in addition to an extremely personal owner. Believe it or not, Nancy knows the name of every one that walks into her door! I have been going to this salon for almost ten years. This is one of the cleanest salons that I have been to. Nancy is always cleaning and updating her salon to be definitely the best in the South Shore region. It is definitely a place where my friends and I can count on a manicure and pedicure treat. They also do a wonderful job with waxing. The wax they use is extremely gentle and does not hurt like the other salons. I've been going to Nancy's for a couple of years now and I have never had a problem. I got my first pedicure here ever and they were so nice and made me feel comfortable. I even talked my mom into her first pedicure ever and now she's addicted to this place! The place is three large rooms, one just for pedicures, one just for manicures, and one ""drying"" area. You can see them clean and sterilize everything, so no worries about sketchy foot baths or implements. The owner, Nancy, is always there and goes the extra mile to make sure her customers are happy. Every now and then my son (he's 4) accompanies me and they love to humor him (he sits on my lap and they rub his legs with lotion too, give him candy, etc.) They even have male customers occasionally so tell your guys to come here too! Nails by Nancy is a clean and bright establishment.  The workers are friendly and there are always lots of people on staff.  I came in on a sunday for a fill (for my french tips) and a pedicure to match.  I came with a friend who was also getting a manicure and pedicure.  We were both taken at the same time and they even put us next to each other so we could chat during the session.  They have nice big comfy leather chairs with foot spas for the pedicures.  Both of the women who did our manny's and peddy's were extremely thorough.  This was my first time here, and the woman who did my nails and toenails, her name was Lisa, was so gentle.  She was very patient and diligent with my nails, making sure not to rush or make a mistake.  She made sure I was completely satisfied before putting me under the dryer.  My friends nails and toenails came out awesome too.  It's a week later and I haven't a chip or a crack on either my nails or toenails.  I'd definitely recommend this place because they are very efficient.
