Discovered this restaurant on a recent trip to the area with my husband. Great food and service. We visit the area frequently and will make this one of our regular stops.

Great spot. Food was amazing. I believe to really get a sense of a place you should try a variety of what they had to offer. So for starters we had the burrata, lamb meatballs (reminded me of a gyro) and crispy rice (think rice ball). The portions were small (think tapas) so perfect to share and hold you off until dinner. The burrata was my favorite (love the combination of squash, pears and pecans with arugula). For dinner we had the scallops which were light and cooked to perfection and duck (I personally don’t like duck but my husband said it was good - he’s also a picky one so that says a lot). For sides we tried the cheddar grits (amazing - absolutely delicious - and I don’t generally like grits) and havarti Mac and cheese - which I would say was average and least favorite if the night. Slightly disappointed with it especially compared to everything else. For dessert we had the apple tart and oatmeal ice cream which did not disappoint! A great way to end the meal!! The place is BYOB which I recommend - though they do offer a delivery service if you forget. Selection was meh so I wouldn’t forget if I were you (we did - lesson learned). Staff was decent enough and ambience was great. It’s not a large spot so I would make reservations as it fills quickly and after eating there you will understand why. Would definitely recommend- I look forward to our next visit. More...

Probably my favorite place to go to in Morristown. I always get the polenta fries. The menu is unique & I enjoy the farm to table type restaurants.

Good. I wanted a burger but they had no beef. I ordered chicken which turned out to be their version of chicken and waffles. The waffle was made from sweet potato. The syrup was honey. Overall not bad. More...

Wonderfully delicious. One of the best byob restaurants I have been to this year. Service was fabulous. Very detailed; specials explained, and food questions answered professionally. Oh, and the food: lamb meatballs are a must. We had the rice ball appie special as well. Two great tastes. Spaghetti squash entree and salmon entree made the evening. Many happy faces with satisfied grins. Go and enjoy the food. Hurry!! More...

Went for the fifth or six time this evening. They had a special 6 course fall tasting menu which was delicious but way too much food and very rich. Would have been happier ordering off the ala carte menu. My cavatelli had a heavy hand with the vinegar which overwhelmed the flavors. Other people at my table did not have as much vinegar so I’m not sure exactly what happened. Pumpkin pie with marshmallow and caramel was delicious though a bit too much clove for my taste. Biggest issue with the evening was the pacing. Five courses came out within less than an hour. Once we complained they slowed it down and gave us a break for dessert. We really needed that break throughout the meal. Staff was very friendly and attentive. If I were to return which is likely based on proximity to the Mayo Theater, I would make sure to tell them how I want my food paced. Highlight of the meal for all 4 of us was definitely the cauliflower and pumpkin soup. More...

Went to dinner with group of 4, got appetisers (mussels and corn fritters) both good tasty full of flavor and good portions. I got the chicken and waffles entree which was made with sweet potato waffles and covered in honey - one of the better chicken and waffles I've ever had. Friend got the lamb which was recommended by server Alex and he said it was very good with big portion. We tried a medley of deserts and they were all good - ice cream sandwich, ricotta cake and cobbler. Only thing no one seemed to like was the strawberry shortcake. BYOB, staff was accomodating with glasses etc. We had a reservation but still had to wait but they were very busy on a Friday evening so it didn't bother me. More...

South+Pine is a very good local restaurant owned and run by a notable young woman chef who lives locally. Food is great, crowd can be a bit boisterous, staff friendly and well trained. BYO let's you bring your favorite beverage, or there is a very good wine store just down the street. More...

Absolutely love this place. The polenta fries have solidely been one of my all time Morristown restaurant favorites. The owner, Leia, is immensely proud of her restaurant/staff and that shows in both South & Pine's menu offerings and interior design.

The food was excellent!!! It’s made to order, so you’re able to remove an item from the dish if you wish to do so. Gorgeous interior, and packed with customers! Waiters and waitresses are very pleasant to speak to. My only complaint is the service. My table was constantly forgotten about, never checked up on, took forever for the check. We wanted to stay for dessert but did not wait to wait another 45-60 min just for that, on top with the check. I’m sure it was an off night, but it’s definitely something to consider. I’d go back if I don’t have immediate plans after. More...

Menu is full of really delicious options, a lot of which are locally sourced/made. Everything was so good! They have a lot of different flavor combos, but also some staples. There really is something for everybody on the menu! The outdoor seating area is great and the interior is very trendy and modern, but also cozy. Highly recommend for an event or celebration! I just took off one star for the prices. I know this is a more upscale place, but $6 for a small square of hashbrowns was a little ridiculous. More...

I'm a fried chicken junkie. I had the best chicken and sweet potato waffles that I've ever had. It was extra crispy with sweet-spicey harissa honey. We started with the stuffed squash blossoms. If you never had these, don't miss them. We could have eaten another two orders. My wife was very happy with the Hudson Valley trout. The chef decided that the piece he sent was too small so he sent another piece. NICE.BYOB. Reservations strongly suggested. We will be back More...

Passing through town and looking for a local (aka non-chain) eatery lead my wife and I to South+Pine. What a find!To make a long story short, dietary limitations meant I needed to request a modification to a menu item. Not only did Eddie and the staff meet the request, they created the best meal I had on my week-long trip. But, outstanding meal aside, what amazed me most was the enthusiasm and creativity applied in creating the meal. I can't say enough to express my appreciation. So, if the opportunity ever presents itself, take a quick diversion from the chain eateries congesting the highway exits and stop by South+Pine. I'm confident you'll be as impressed (and satisfied) as I and my wife. Thanks, Eddie and team! More...

Awesome food. The menu is changing everytime so not sure how helpful this will be but started with the chorizo sliders which were basically a fried mashed potato cheese ball - they were good but not rock my socks off. We also got the muscles - soo good would highly recommend that. For dinner we got the shrimp which was good and the halibut - definitely get that such a great sear and fantastic flavors. It is BYOB but a solid restaurant. More...

Very good! My wife had the Shorties (boneless short ribs). I had the shrimp. It had a bit of a kick, and a hint of curry I believe. Choc bread pudding for dessert, more than enough for two people. Good size cup of coffee, not the half cups it seems many places serve these days. More...
