Highly Recommend Southern Occasions Event Center. We had planned our daughters wedding at our house as an outdoor event, until a tropical storm was on it's way. I called Taylor 3 days prior to the event and she bent over backwards to help us switch to this venue. She was so accommodating, helpful, sweet and we were so thankful after all the stress of switching everything. The venue was Beautiful and we could not have asked for a more perfect wedding. The venue has all the room you need for a ceremony, sit down dinner, appetizers, bar and dancing. Would plan any special occasion here. If I could write a thousand reviews for Southern Occasions, I would. My experience working with Taylor was amazing. We came to her with some unique ideas of what we wanted and I immediately felt like she saw our vision and was willing to do whatever it took to make it happen. The venue is beautiful, the food is fantastic, and Taylor and Nikki are a breeze to work with. June 8th was my favorite day and I owe so much of what it was to them. Attended the catering center for our annual high school banquet. The place was a nice size and had a lovely atmosphere inside, and the hospitality we received was also a great addition. Made up for a wonderful experience, and I'd definetely recommend it for small events and celebrations! More...

I had the complete experience at this venue! We didn’t just rent the space, but we used their catering service as well. The space is beautiful! The walls are rustic brick and the floor is beautiful, light wood to compliment the dark wooden façade on the front of the building. Perfect for pictures!! A floor to ceiling hutch full of gorgeous dishes and decorations adorns the back wall and there are sconce lights periodically along the wall. They also have beautiful chandeliers scattered across the ceiling! So elegant. A sound system with handheld and hands free mics is available. The staff set up all of our tables and set out decorations (even though it barely needs any!) and were on hand the day of the event to coordinate deliveries. They’re very helpful and flexible! The catering was absolutely delicious! The caterer was awesome about talking through food options and handling our back and forth decisions. They served our drinks from a bar and the food was beautifully displayed and served from our choice of place in the main room (There’s also a space off to the back to set up the food to accommodate a larger group with more tables!) I’m so excited for Portland to have a venue such as this. When Jaska has a vision for something it comes to life and is beautiful. The Southern Occasions Event Center does not disappoint!! Taylor and staff took such good care of us. She worked so well with our Event Planner and made for certain that our event went perfectly...it did (if something went wrong, we were non the wiser, lol). It was really nice having things set up and taken down for us. We also used their catering service. We had a pasta bar, a variety of breads and butters as well as salad bar with all the mix-Ins. This is hands down the best venue in Portland. Not only is it the best because it’s so unique, it’s the best because of who it running the venue. I don’t think I could say enough amazing things about Taylor. I never once had a worry about how things were going to be at the venue. Anytime I had a questions, even if it was 8:30 at night Taylor had no problem answering my question. The week of the wedding Taylor called and texted my mom and I double checking on things.
