🗣LISSEN….Chef Tiffany Derry owes us NOTHINNNNN TUHNIGHT!!!!! ERYTHANG we had was DELISH!!!! Our server even bought us new silverware after we had finished our appetizers so we could get the fullness of the all the flavors 🙌🏾🙌🏾 cast iron cornbread, stuffed zucchini flowers, fried chicken with homemade Louisiana Tabasco, duck fat fried potatoes, coulette steak, and orange juice cake. From the moment I first walked in until the time i left🙌🏾 I highly recommend you get the cast iron cornbread for starters along with a beverage of your choice that is sure to tantalize your taste buds. Next choose a salad to prepare yourself for the flavor explosion you will experience!!! Run don’t walk!!! On our second visit to Roots, we decided to try entirely new dishes. Although we considered our first dining experience at Roots to be exceptional, our 2nd experience was BEYOND… just BEYOND. Every bite was unique, inspired, and delicious. The apps… shrimp and grits (wow), greens, and cornbread were outstanding. For entrees, we had the halibut, jerk lamb chops, scallops, and duck fat friend chicken. Supreme. For dessert… the cinnamon chocolate cake and fruit pizza (trust me, sooooooo good). Last visit we had the zucchini flower mozzarella poppers, black eyed pea hummus, and the duck. All fantastic. Really can’t say more about how outstanding the food is. It’s only matched by the service and sincerity of the staff. It’s clear that everyone at roots loves the food, believes in the importance of creating experiences for guests, and loves being there. Lizzie, Aubree… everyone. Just… wow!!! More...

This is not a family friendly restaurant. There is nothing on their website or when you make a reservation that states they have "no accommodations for children". This restaurant does not have a children's menu and there is nothing on their prepared menu that is child friendly. I read an article in 360 magazine about Root Southern Table #rootssoutherntable I made a reservation for myself, daughter and my 7 year old grandson, who were visiting from out of town. We got to the restaurant and my daughter asked for a children's menu and the hostess said they didn't have a children's menu. We asked the waiter if they could make a dish of shrimp for my grandson to eat. The waiter checked with the kitchen and said they no they couldn't because everything was already mixed and prepared for the evening. We decided to leave. My daughter and I were disappointed we were so looking forward to trying this restaurant. If I had known they had no accommodations for children we would have made different arrangements for my grandson. We drove 40 minutes, so disappointed. More...

Your entire staff is wonderful…. the seating hostess was great, both bartenders so wonderful and fun, and Bernadette took fabulous care of us! Drinks were delicious and the food was heaven on a plate❤️❤️❤️. This was one of the most perfect dining experiences we have had in the DFW area. Congratulations! Great food & service (Will was great)! It’s a little loud inside, but we will definitely be back …. Highly recommend the cornbread, fried chicken, scallops, and orange juice cake … The Kool Aid cocktail was quite tasty too!

Will was great, he was our waiter and made great recommendations. Everyone that we encountered at the restaurant, was very polite. The food and Drinks were great!
