Great place to meet a friend a or group of friends to catch up. I had a beautiful drink with flowers in the ice cubes! And not only that, it was delicious as was the food. Service is close to perfect!

Had the mahi mahi tonight and it was fantastic! Our waitress was fabulous, the atmosphere was cozy, and my daughter loved her bacon cheeseburger and fries! We will be returning for sure!

We and another couple went to dinner here a week ago. It was a Saturday evening. The weather was pleasant so we ate outside and inside seemed a little noisy. There are two things that tell you whether a restaurant is ok, good, or great. That's the food and the service. Often the food will be great but handled by a waiter or waitress who talks too much, doesn't know the menu, is poor at their job, or whatever. At Southbound both our waiter (can't remember his name, as it John? Older guy been there 5 years) was phenomenal. He knew his stuff had a dry sense of humor and was on top of everything. Wasn't the waiter that has to ask every time he does anything and disrupts conversation. Very pleased. Food was top notch. My favorite part of the menu was it's brevity. Have both dined and drunk here on several occasions. Food is always great - pimento cheese and nacho appetizers are excellent well beyond their humble origins. Drinks are well crafted but served up by a fairly inattentive bartender whose strong yet dated beard game seems to give him the confidence to act like a complete dbag. Southside used to be a foodie desert and this place was a gift. Times have changed, and availability of close and diverse options now will result in my passing on the attitude and frequenting some more chill sources of a good cocktail. More...

I was fortunate enough to venture into Southbound the other night for a beer and some light bar food. Their beer selection was amazing with local selections covering a variety of styles. The food was awesome, very creative and all delicious. We got the bread plate with a variety of house made breads that were all great. Head Chef Craig came out and talked with us for a bit. Craig's passion for the food he makes was overwhelming, it was a real treat and a lot of fun talking to him. I highly recommend Southbound. More...
