I've never hired a DJ before until my wedding, but I have been to several events with DJs and I can sincerely say no one is better than Jimmy! He was insanely good. He played the songs we requested and he quickly caught onto the type of music our guests got into most. He took requests, which I know the kids had fun with, but made my day completely unforgettable! When it started to rain, he did not stop the party! He threw a tarp up over all of his equipment and himself and he kept it going! We all danced in the rain, while listening to our favorite type of music and celebrating this beautiful day. Along with the caterer and photographer, he made our day extra special. Not only did I have my dream wedding in Key West, I got to relive it in the most magical form. I am so thankful my mother in law surprised me with a wedding video by Joana. She was sooo sweet to be around and worked perfectly with my photographer. The quality is perfect and I’m obsessed with all of the details she captured that I would have forgotten over time. AMAZING!!! Jimmy and Joanna are truly one of a kind! They were SO easy to work with and made everything SO simple. We booked Jimmy for our DJ services and booked Joanna for videography. They are both so down to earth and truly portray the "Key West" vibe. They both know the island so well and Joanna was awesome at navigating when capturing our moments during sunset! The Soundwave team was amazing. We booked Soundwave due to its awesome reviews and it did not disappoint. We coordinated through James Cooper and DJ Rahm Rodriguez was our DJ. My husband and I hired Jimmy from SoundWave as our DJ for both the ceremony and reception for our destination wedding in Key West. We have nothing but good things to say about him as he was able to have people up and dancing for such a short reception (2 hour brunch reception). He was very responsive whenever I contacted him and was such a pleasure to have at our wedding. We had booked SoundWave for our DJ and videographer. Jim was the perfect DJ! He played all of the music we requested and at the perfect times. SO easy to work with. He was energetic and exactly what we were looking for in a DJ. A videographer was the last thing in our budget so we did not want to spend $4,000 on a video. I basically told Joanna that I just wanted a video to be able to look back at the ceremony and reception speeches/dances. I even said that I didn't need to have a fancy edited video just something to watch later....I got WAY more than I asked for. It was worth every penny and the best money we spent. I was speechless when they sent us the sneak peek video and I am so excited to see the full version!! Jim and Joanna Cooper are absolutely amazing! My husband and I used them for our DJ and video services for our Key West wedding at the Pier House. Jim was incredibly thorough, being sure to keep in mind everything that was so musically important to us. I'm so Type A, and had a list of music that I wanted for dinner and dancing. Jim was wonderful and understanding and made sure to play everything that was an absolute must. During the reception, Jim read the crowd well, and played music that suited everyone. The dance floor was always full, and everyone had a blast, most of all our four year old son. Jim played all his favorites. Joanna was so sweet. My husband and I are very private people (part of the reason for a small, intimate wedding in Key West), and at no point during filming did we ever feel like our space was being invaded. Most of the time we weren't even aware that Joanna was there filming us, which made our wedding highlight video that much more incredible. When we watched it we were both in tears. It felt real and not staged at all. She was there to capture the happiest day of our lives, and that's exactly what she did. The editing, music selection, and literally every frame made us feel like we were back to that day. I was amazed at how quickly we received our highlight video back as well. James Cooper is a DJ Mastermind. In full transparency, we used the whole Family Affair team to do our wedding. Planner, Photographer, DJ, Videographer were all one great package. How did we find them? Through Jim and his wife Joanna. When we initially were seeking vendors on our own, Jim was one of the first people we spoke with. We had spoken with a few other DJ’s before Jim and none really had the vibe and connection that we were looking for. Jim was perfect from the beginning and was by far our most responsive, vendor. He led us through not only the DJ selection process, but guided us towards a path for other vendor selection that ultimately brought me and my partner’s stress level to almost ZERO.

As a DJ, he is incredible. My partner and I were nervous to say the least when we were telling a DJ that we wanted the night to start out with inclusive Motown and approachable pop music that eventually turned into millennial gay dance party extravaganza realness.

Did Jim flinch? No.
Did he tell us he loved the idea? Yes.
Did he execute? 100%.

Everyone, and I mean everyone (my partners family aren’t big dancers) got onto the floor at some point, and most of our friends and close family wouldn’t leave.

My partner and I decided to change our first dance song the morning of our ceremony.

Did Jim reply to us day of the wedding immediately? Yes
Was our last minute change an issue? No.
Did he compliment our choice and say it would be perfect? Yes.

Joanna was our videographer for our wedding and reception at Hemingway House. We wanted to wait until we watched our video before writing a review. What we wanted was a nice, simple, but high quality video account of our perfect day. Jim was incredible with our custom playlist and ceremony music. And a fun staple of Key West, I've learned from other vendors' feedback.

We had a very specific vision that Jim met with ease and enthusiasm.
He talked with us day-of to ensure the timeline was on-track, and was patient and worked without hiccup with things got inevitably delayed.

He was on-time, his set-up and lights blended right in, and he was very sweet. Though a backdrop in the eyes of our guests, his playlist and his announcements were spot on to us with what we idealized and his professionally worked without any hiccups.

Jim at SoundWave is true professional! He stepped in to DJ my friend's wedding last minute when the originally scheduled DJ no-showed, but honestly if I wasn't a bridesmaid I wouldn't have even known that Jim wasn't supposed to be there the entire time. Jim and Joanna were fabulous to work with, along with the Family Affair crew. Joanna videoed for 4 hours and Jim was our awesome DJ back in January 2018. I gave Jim an extensive music list, to which he was able to play to the crowd's interest. When my first dance with my groom was going on too long, he told me to wink at him and he'd fade out the music. Worked like a charm!! Joanna put together 2 different videos, the first about 5 mins long, the 2nd almost an hour long! I'm in LOVE with both. We had our wedding in May 2018 and we can honestly say that from the second we spoke to Jim (DJ) and his wife Joanna (videography) we knew they had to be part of our day! Not only did Jim recommend absolute amazing song ideas for the ceremony, but he let us play our humorous, costume changing dance songs throughout the night! Every guest mentioned how fun he made it for them, too! We have all experienced some weddings that don't allow you to have the party you want, but WOW did Jim let us have our party!
