We worked with Soundsations for our June 2018 wedding and we can't recommend them enough! Our DJ, Mark, was so very easy to work with that it made the planning process a breeze. From the start, he said that there are no rules in wedding and was willing to play any song we desired and was very flexible with our reception. He also went above and beyond on our wedding day, when it started raining during our outside ceremony, he rushed his equipment inside the tent to ensure that we could finish up the ceremony without making our guests wait too long. We worked with DJ Jim for our wedding at Morningside Inn. Jim truly has expertise in working with Morningside's unique layout. There was excellent communication between Jim and the staff at Morningside to ensure the wedding flowed. Jim was open to playing all types of music (including culturally traditional wedding songs) as well as giving his professional recommendations. Jim DJ'd our wedding at Inn at Perry Cabin on July 4th. He was very friendly, professional and responsive through out the planning process. We worked with Jim (who does a lot of close work with our venue, Morningside Inn), and he was great! We connected with him on a personal level, and he really did a lot of awesome stuff to help our wedding flow. Because of his close work with Morningside, he knew all the staff there already, and so communication was seamless. He was also super receptive to our desire to meet with him in person, and he played many of our desired songs (unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to play them all, and our guests had some odd requests - what do you do?). Our guests were also very happy with his included commentary - he kept it feeling like a party, and he was smiling and laughing along with everyone. My sister was married about a year ago and had the pleasure of working with Soundations and DJ Ewok for their big day. Her wedding was stunning and the music that night was perfect. I wanted to write this review not just as a spectator at her wedding, who witnessed first-hand what a fabulous job DJ Ewok did, but I wanted to leave a review here because I am a wedding coordinator. I know just how much goes into the planning and execution of a couple’s big day – how much emotion and expectation surrounds every moment from procession to recession to first dance to last dance. I know how hard vendors work to make this day and all of its precious moments as close to perfect as humanly possible. And with the eyes of a critic, I watched every move on the day of my sister’s wedding. I must say, DJ Ewok was wonderful. I absolutely loved sounsations! I got a good deal too because I was referred to him by a friend. Jim, our DJ, went above and beyond what I expected. We spoke on the phone before the wedding and he was very helpful when I was unsure of certain song choices, or the order things typically go in. I would definitely recommend Jim as a DJ! DJ Ewok did an amazing job at our wedding in Lewes, Delaware. A a friend of ours had been a guest at en event DJ Ewok did last summer through Soundsations and we got his info. All I can say is he made our wedding on the beach and the reception amazing!!!! The ceremony and venue were a choice he recommended as well. We had a meeting about a month before the wedding to go over song lists, requests, bridal party names and a timeline. He got everything down and everything turned out great. We had all of our special songs and when we asked him to go with the flow, he did a great job of playing to the crowd to keep the party going and everyone on the dancefloor. We were very happy with DJ Ewok's work at our daughter's wedding in April 2015, so much so that we have already booked him for our next daughter's upcoming wedding. He met all the specifications provided by the bride and groom, including finding several obscure and non-traditional songs that they had requested for various parts of the reception. All the music was seamlessly edited, and DJ Ewok had a nice CD of all their requests ready to give them on their wedding day. He made a point of meeting with every member of the wedding party to ensure that he would announce their names the way they wanted. He kept all the events flowing smoothly. When my daughter forgot to bring the special garter she had purchased for the garter throw, DJ Ewok had a selection of garters ready for her to pick from, including one in her wedding colors. My husband and I just got married this past weekend and we had an AMAZING experience with Soundsations! We had Jim for our DJ and he was awesome. The planning tools on their website were the most helpful in choosing our songs for the wedding. Jim went beyond and above his DJ duties!!! Our caterer was 2 hours late, him and the venue owner called every caterer they personally knew to see if anyone could make a emergency replacement. What a wonderful wedding reception we had on the Summer Soltice! The DJ(Ewok) from SoundSations was superb! Fun to work with and plan, very professional and was able to get a very mixed age crowd out on the floor, dancing!

DJ EWOK handled my company party event and did an amazing & awesome job. He arrived promptly provided sound system for our personal presentation and then handled the remainder of the evening with my old "croonies" on the dance floor until midnight. He kept the night moving without missing a beat.

BEST DJ EVER! My biggest fear was that the dance floor would be empty at my reception, but everyone was dancing all night long! I couldn't have asked for anything more. I emailed Jim less than 24 hours before the wedding to make last minute song changes, and he responded right away and made the necessary changes! He was very fun and outgoing. Spent a long time on the phone with him doing planning things, and he was so easy to talk to and understanding of everything I wanted. Best part - you can make your playlist and planner online. Soundsations was great. Jim was the DJ at our wedding and he was fantastic. He was very responsive to my guests' requests during the reception and accomodated some last minute special requests from me. The mix of music was delightful and we had a good portion of our wedding party up and dancing most of the night. Nothing really negative to say about Jim or Soundsations. A couple of times (months before the event) it took a little while to hear back from Soundsations. DJ Ewok with Soundsations did an EXCELLENT job with our wedding reception!!

He and DJ Lojack together make a great team and had everything ready for us. Ewok covered when we had a transportation snafu and had to wait about an hour for a member of the wedding party to arrive, he made sure the guests knew what was going on, apologized for us, and kept everyone waiting entertained. We had to do a couple things on the fly and that threw all of us off, but again, he and Lojack kept it going so no one from the outside looking in knew things were off kilter. We cut things out last minute (like a couple traditional dances) because of the timing snafu but he and Lojack didn't miss a beat and were incredibly accomodating. They had all the music together that we wanted, suggested some great things for the music prior to our arrival, and were able to make a reception reflective of us as a couple with totally opposite tastes in some music. :) It was exactly as we wanted it! When folks didn't know how to do certain dances, he taught them and got things going, the music was age appropriate (we're 40-somethings with our parents, peers, and teens on the guest list) high energy, perfect! Every single photograph of the reception has people smiling and happy - we were thrilled with the service!

Side notes:
Soundsations utilizes a web-based platform that shows you all the different things that people do for wedding receptions, intro songs, cake songs, this song, that song, it can be overwhelming at first, but it is a wonderful tool - it links to a huge database of music and keeps the top 100(?) requested songs for whatever category you're looking at updated in real time. Start planning your music EARLY so you don't miss anything - great dates for us while we were reminiscing through the database picking ours.
We wanted a couple out of the ordinary songs that weren't readily available, however, Ewok found them for us to use - thank you!
Ewok and Lojack add a certain air to the reception... they maintain an elegant affair and feeling but turn it into a rocking party where everyone has fun! Even my 91 year old grandmother, her best friend, and my handicapped uncle were on the dance floor.
Ewok takes care of you, he runs the show on the timeline you've discussed before hand, knows who the contact people are, and calms your nerves so you are able to just enjoy... ahhh... We had a blast! More...
