The DJ we had for the event I attended was very unprofessional. He arrived late due to getting lost which happens and is understandable, but he didn’t call and let anyone know he was running late so panic started to set in. Then when he arrived, he told the coordinator that he didn’t have 3 out of the 5 ceremony songs. My concern is, If he didn’t have those songs as he claims the bride never sent them, (which she did and he admitted to not checking his email) then why didn’t he contact her a few days prior to the wedding to see what songs were needed? The other thing is he took multiple smoke breaks and left the DJ booth unattended so no one could request songs. I just believe if you are being paid for a service, then you should keep your breaks to a minimum. Within the 5 hours that the reception happened he was missing probably 5-6 times. Maybe if you’re going to leave the station it would be courteous to post a sign that says “will return in 5 minutes” that way guests aren’t looking around all the time for the DJ. The last thing I want to touch on is customer service. If someone’s paying you for a service and there has been a miscommunication on any part, there is absolutely no need for rude behavior. He thought the bride messed up (which there is proof several places that she didn’t) and he was embarrassed so he decided to place the blame on her and was rude right from the get go. The panic and anxiety that was placed on the bride, the wedding coordinator and matron of honor was totally avoidable if he had just been honest from the beginning. First, he should have come prepared. Second, he should have admitted his mistake, and third, don’t make someone else do your job for you when you are being paid for that service. I had to download and pay for a music service so the ceremony would have music and the coordinator played the music (over the dj’s Bluetooth speaker). Luckily my phone had service because that location doesn’t usually have it or else we would have been without music for the ceremony and that could have ruined the wedding for this couple. And he did not willingly provide this $50 refund. The bride and groom confronted him after the wedding about his mistakes and he replied “What will it take? $50?” And at that point the couple was completely over the attitude and unprofessional behavior to which they said fine. Would get a full refund if I could. Didn’t have our ceremonial music, made us use his equipment, was rude from the get go, didn’t take any criticism professionally, and now to top it all off is now trash talking back to people that are reviewing him and being extremely rude instead of taking the criticism silently and constructively. I thank him for the services he provided. After everything the wedding was not ruined and I could have gotten over the mistakes that were made during the wedding. I have never given anyone a bad review because I usually think when something goes wrong it’s more then one persons fault. In this case I have to let people know my experience. After sending this DJ TWO lists of all songs and also sending at least one of the important songs (unity song) to him privately on Facebook he showed up to my wedding and didn’t have at least 3 of the songs for my ceremony including the unity. My best friend had to buy Apple Music 10 mins before I was about to walk down the isle and buy all my songs and actually do the music hisself with the DJ’s speaker..not only that but from the second he got to the wedding until we confronted him after he was rude. I have multiple guests throughout the night comment on how rude he was. Anytime anyone wanted to change a song or play another song HE WASNT ANYWHERE TO BE FOUND ????????♀️. My wedding was amazing and I’m not going to let one DJ mess that up but I feel like others need to know before hiring him. Yes his prices are cheaper then most but there’s a reason for that. More...
