Wow wow wow wow I love this place so much. What caught my eye was the Yelp pics online about the margarita flight and that was the best decision I made! ! All 4 of the margaritas included in the flight was fantastic. We also got the chicken fajitas which was also great. Service was good and they were all super nice. Had a nice lunch here with some hits/misses, but overall enjoyed the meal and would return! Service was a bit in-attentive, our waters never got refilled and it took a while to flag someone down. Chips - their house chips are great. Perfect thickness and greasiness, and I really loved the salsa which has nice roasted flavors. Ceviche - this was the only disappointment. It has so many ingredients and not a ton of fish, and I wasn't the biggest fan of the flavor either. Octopus - amazing texture, and tasty sauce. We wanted to grab a late lunch before going to my hair appointment and decided to have tacos. We got sat down right away with an option for a seat on the patio but we requested for the booth away from everyone. Free chips and salsa provided as soon as we sat down. Our server recommended the four taco starter and we got a pitcher of margarita for the table. We opted for the $5 up charge for the margarita with grand mariner. Food is overpriced. 4 taco appetizer was meh. Meat was very dry. Service was AWFUL. Went there on a Saturday night at 7:30pm just for some apps and a drink. Place wasn't busy at all. Got sat down immediately and was given free chips and salsa. At least they did that for us because we waited 15 minutes before the hostess finally approached us about having no waiter. After about an hour we finally got our apps but of course they forgot one. So we had to reorder it. Another hour later we finally got it. Took them a whole hour to cook 3 pieces of filet (sugar cane filet on the menu.) Pretty disappointing experience. And no, they weren't short on staff. So I'm not sure if it was just our luck or what it was but me and my group were not impressed. It was pretty empty when we arrived and it took forever for someone to come to our table and take our order, we waited at least 20 min before we had to wave someone down. Finally when the waiter came we ordered a few drinks two watermelon margaritas and one margarita flight. We also asked for guac and chips cause we were starving! Now me and my friends don't eat seafood or pork so we asked the waiter if they have a regular guac because the one on the menu was a sampler which has lobster and carnitas which we obviously don't eat. He said yes no problem I'll bring you a regular guac. 5 minutes later he comes back and says there's a power outage and we can't make you the margaritas so we said ok for now can you at least get us the guac and chips since we've been sitting here now for 45 min legit dying of hunger. Before we could even finish our sentence the power went back on finally after an hour our drinks and the chips come but no guac I guess he forgot. Now forget the fact that we have now been sitting waiting for an hour just for drinks and guac. The drinks were so bad! I don't know what it was but I have never tasted such a nasty drink! There was absolutely no flavor to these drinks and my friend who got the margarita flight basically said each drink tasted worse then the other. We told the waiter that we didn't like the drinks and he kinda gave us a stink look he just wasn't so friendly, we asked if we can change it to the frozen coco which was a lot yummier. He comes back with the manager I believe it was the manager and as he finally brings the guac it was the guac sampler which was not what we had ordered when I told him that it was suppose to be a regular guac the manager and him basically looked at each other and he said it was his fault and basically didn't really apologies but kinda walked away with an attitude and that was basically it for us we didn't even take the chance to taste the food because the experience was just so bad with our frustration and hunger we basically told the waiter we just want the check he didn't apologize or try to compensate us it was just very bad service for me and unfortunately I will never return to this place ever again which is very unfortunate because the food looked amazing! UPDATE: Table of 20 Gets Absolute Priority Over Table of 2. Long story short: A party of 20 people who arrived 30 minutes later than my party of 2 was served their food prior to my party of 2. Oh and the kicker - the massive party ordered the same shit we did. When the restaurant staff failed to get us our order they then blamed the chefs for my lamb being over cooked (needless to say they forgot it entirely, as nothing was refired).Our waiter, upon being called over to the table, also asked: "do you want the bill?" Best way to describe the restaurant, food, and drinks - disappointing and underwhelming. Plenty of great Mexican food in the area, but this is not one of them. Flavor and taste doesn't even come close to the price. - Food- Everything I ordered felt like it was missing something along with very little flavor. Everyone that raves about the food makes me question what Mexican food they've ate. saltine crackers rival the flavors of some of this food.The guac was a spoon sized scoop of smashed avocado with a chip in the middle and some slabbed salsa. -Disappointing for the price. The ceviche lacked flavor even when adding hot sauce and lime to it. At least the presentation was okay. -Disappointing and not worth the price. I'm honestly not happy complaining about the lack of flavor to everything, but the tacos were just ok. The food was good. But the service was so poor and I just couldn't justify giving more than three stars. Once we sat down, all was well, we got the water, the drink orders in, food orders in and we were just waiting for the meals at this point. The appetizers all came out correctly, and they were delicious. Then came the disappointment; we were waiting for our entrees to arrive but we never thought too much of it even though it took a bit longer because right after we finished our appetizers, there was a large party that came in. Naturally, we thought our food were delayed because of the large party. But things took a turn when we noticed that the large party all got their entrees and while we were still waiting. The waiter eventually came by our table, and before we had a chance to speak and ask about our entrees, the waiter jumped in and asked if we were ready for our bill...... We had to explain that we never got our entrees and the waiter then flipped through his notepad and said they would check on it. A few minutes later, the waiter came back and said that the reason for the delay was due to our rack of lambs were over cooked by their kitchen staff so they had to refire another rack for us but our other entree of tacos were ready the whole time. There is no way we would believe the explanation when the waiter already asked if we were ready for the bill. Secondly, I do not know which one is worse, even if we chose to believe the explanation, that means that my tacos had been ready the whole time, for 30-40 minutes, and wasn't served. So in theory, my tacos would've been cold at that point and the restaurant would still serve the food that had been idling for that long to their customers. In the end, we never got our lamb nor the proper tacos. But the restaurant did pack the said tacos to-go but the fish was dry and portion was little to none. As we were leaving, we overheard another table asking their server where the last dish is for just ONE person since everyone else - in their mega sized party- got their food. In short, it's always better to be honest to your customers than coming up with an excuse that harms the reputation of your own kitchen staff. More...

We had a large party of 15 people and were well taken care of. I like the casual but still sleek style of the restaurant. DELICIOUS margaritas - I had this blackberry tequila margarita (I think that's what it was called) . The crispy pork app is a must try and the sautéed shrimp in garlic sauce is yummy. We went for dinner on a Sunday night and sat outside. Good vibe. Service was great. Cocktails were great. Food was great. I didn't get the margarita flight, but I wish I had. Went here for cocktails and small plate. Great atmosphere friendly staff. My wife had the Cadillac Margarita and I had the Cucumber. We did the Guacamole sampler and the Shrimp Ceviche. It was very hot in the restaurant, like uncomfortable hot. We were sitting outside at first then moved inside and still was hot. That alone would make me not return. Our waiter was passive aggressive which was extremely strange. When I asked him if we could move inside I was already walking in and I caught him rolling his eyes, then when my friend asked if the air was on he did it again when he was walking away. The straw that broke the camel's back is when I asked for plastic utensils, he rolled his eyes right in front of me then snatched the silverware off the table. I didn't let his behavior bother me too much, I laughed it off but it was still off putting and unwarranted. The food was not even good. Fantastically delicious. Listen. My tastebuds haven't been awakened like this in years. Everything is so delicious I couldn't stop eating. The shrimp ceviche has an ABUNDANCE of protein with the perfect balance of acid and pickled vegetables. Utterly phenomenal. I managed to eat half of my salmon salad which was the perfect sized salad; the combination of salmon with all the fruit and pecans are just divine. The atmosphere is stunning, attire being cute-casual. The music isn't too loud. All around amazing ambiance. Lastly, thank you to my server Wilbur. My family and I were excited to try good Mexican in Santa Monica. Unfortunately this wasn't it. Our guacamole sampler appetizer was brought to our table, and the person delivering it couldn't tell us which green lump was which of the three types. He also delivered it without chips. When we asked for chips we waited (a theme of the night) and then had some plopped on our table along with the standard salsa and beans we had said we didn't need more of. About 2-3 minutes later our entrees arrived. My wife's Mar y Tierra enchiladas sounded awesome, but tasted tangy and odd. My enchiladas mariscos were bland and the enchiladas were of the soggy variety. The Sol Agave salad our daughter ordered was not bad. While we ordered drinks before the appetizers arrived, they didn't arrive until we were already DONE with our meals. Not good. My wife spotted them sitting at the bar for quite a while. Keep in mind the restaurant was not terribly busy and did not seem understaffed. Finally, our server disappeared for a long time when we wanted to pay and leave. I spotted him behind the bar and asked for the check. He nodded and started to head our way, but then stopped to take another table's order before getting to us.The cherry on top was the added surcharge for paying by credit card. Yes, in 2022. We came in on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. Apparently there was some cyber conference across the street that gave them a big lunch time slam. It took us about five minutes to get a waiter, and we put in our drink order, then a few minutes later we put in our food order. App came out, was delicious. Then we waited another 15 minutes and still didn't get our drinks OR any water so I had to get up and ask a waiter for water. Our original waiter came back and asked if we had gotten our drinks and I had said no. After another 10-15 minutes (at this point the restaurant had already cleared out) our drinks finally came out after our entrees came out, about 10 minutes after in fact. So we are 30 minutes into our meal before the drinks came out. My blended drink was completely chunky and undrinkable. The waiter admitted he had made it himself for some reason. When the check came we were charged for both drinks even though we told him the blended drink was undrinkable. MOST decent places would have not charged us for these drinks - you'd assume this place would be no different. It's a shame because the food was actually really good. Bar staff was friendly, but the food was not good. The restaurant seemed relatively slow and the food took close to an hour. The "famous carnitas" was ice cold. The tortilla soup, also cold. The chicken taco came, a tortilla and chicken... only. I asked for some hot sauce. It was obviously their own and was good. Then I was charged $2.50 for it on the bill. A great place to eat by Santa Monica pier. We started with the margarita flight and even as a person who doesn't like the taste of hard alcohol, these were super tasty and well crafted. I ordered the pollo al gusto with spice mole. The mole sauce was very well well balanced- perfect sweet and savory. The chile replenish with cheese was also very satisfying. Had a reservation for a Saturday night. This was my first time here. It's a nice space that is close to the beach. The view is unfortunately blocked by hotels. The wait staff was super friendly and provided timely service. They bring complimentary chips, bean dip, and salsa to the table. All delicious. We tried the margarita flight which is 4 smaller margaritas (watermelon, mango, cucumber, and tamarindo all with tajín rims). The tamarindo and mango were my favorites. For food, we had the Chile Verde taquitos and the Pulpo alas Brasas. Both were really good. The pork in the taquitos was super tender and the octopus was also very tender and delicious. The chipotle crema that comes with the octopus complimented it well. It also came with a fresh bed of greens, cucumber, and tomato in a balsamic dressing. For dessert we shared the Butter cake that had a layer of Abuelita's chocolate mousse and vanilla ice cream. All in all a very good dinner with excellent service.
