Clean gym and lots of equipment. I did have one negative experience with a patron but the management was very responsive.

Really great facility. Training and results focused. They use Myzone technology for heart rate monitoring. They also have a studio for Fitness on demand. Worth checking out!

I like their facility for their hot yoga. I'm not sure I would return here just because I don't live in this area. The facility was very well maintained and I was super impressed with their locker room.

First, I would like to point out that I’m the guy that has a trained and state certified service dog that accompanies me to the gym every time I go. I’m pointing this out because a few reviews down Mr. Burch has written down that when he was in the shower my service animal was in the locker room perhaps making the reader to conclude that I leave this K-9 all by itself while I go about working out. This is not the case at all. Mr. Burch failed to tell the readers that my service animal was clearly in a marked vest stating that she was a service animal. Every time I take a shower I have my K-9 wait for me lying down in the floor by my locker. That’s what she’s trained to do. She is trained to be by my side at all times but when it comes to taking a shower, I draw the line there. Mr. Burch needs to read up on the state laws concerning service animals if he was worried about this K-9’s disposition. To be brief, when a K-9 is clearly marked as a Service Animal, it’s against the law to engage with these animals in any way. It’s a class 3 misdeameanor and you can go to jail if the handler decides to press charges. With a true service animal, one should never have any worries about that animal. That’s the difference between a trained K-9 and one that’s the everyday pet without training. As far as the gym experience: I’ve been going there for 5 years and everyone has always been extremely friendly and outgoing. They always greet you with a smile and are pleasant. The owner is always a pleasure to talk with and very friendly. The comment where someone said she was rude to them and wanted to charge her son more does not fit the character of the owner that I know. The owner just had some new renovations done to this location by adding an additional two rooms of workout areas and equipment including a very nice state of the art Les Mills program. I’m very satisfied with this club and it’s employees. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a gym that doesn’t restrict you to what times you need to be there and give you the freedom to workout on your own schedule, then do not hesitate and get a membership! You won’t regret it. More...

Ah I LOVE this gym and everything about it. First, location. It's in the Southern Village community, with a lot around it. And there's ample parking outside. Also, it's close to Fan Branch and Morgan Creek trails! So I like to hit the trails first, and then walk over to Snap Fitness for the remainder of my workout. Secondly, hours. They're open 24 HOURS A DAY. It's the only gym in Chapel Hill with these hours as far as I'm aware. As long as you have your badge, you can card in anytime.Third, they have a lot to offer. It is a mid-sized gym, which is more than fine, because it is never too crowded at any time of day. You never have to wait on someone to get off the elliptical or treadmill, because they'er all occupied. Also, the Les Mills workouts they added this year are excellent! I've only done the Step one so far and loved it. Looking forward to more. For this, they have a group exercise room in the back, separate from the hot yoga room. I have yet to work with the trainers, but they are all super friendly and very willing to help with your fitness goals! Overall, definitely recommend this gym over others in the area! More...

A smallish, but friendly gym. Open 24 hours. A decent selection of weight machines and free weights, elliptical, and treadmill. Usually not crowded. Personal trainers are available. More...

Snap fitness gets the job down. Nothing fancy, but never busy after 7:00pm. Everything is usually in working order, clean, and organized. The price point is right for what you get. When you sign up, they push you hard on personal training and getting you free training session, which was obnoxious. Additionally, there is a lot of equipment (eg, weights, exercise balls) scattered throughout the gym that is labeled as "for use by personal training clients only". More...

I am really enjoying my membership at Snap Fitness. I've belonged to a lot of gyms and Snap Fitness is great. I love that it is open 24/7. Sometimes I work out before going to the office and its nice to know it will definitely be opened. I've been to other gyms that say they open at 5:30 am. Only to get there at 5:30 am and the place it dark. Snap Fitness is always open. The club has plenty of equipment. Lots of benches, plate weights, and dumbbells. All kinds of cardio choices. I love the new rowers they got and stair mill and the big TRX mount. They just expanded and have a new functional training area and a new group exercise class room. The room is neat. They have graphics on the walls, and a high def video wall. There's a kiosk that has a huge menu of classes. You pick a class and it plays for you on the wall. Very cool! They also have live classes with instructors. I have not done classes in the past but I am going to try the bodypump class. It looks really good. Everyone there is very nice. When I joined they gave me a tour of the club and were very knowledgeable. I don't do personal training but I see it going on and they have some top notch trainers there. When they are not training they are on the floor there to help you. They will spot you. I may actually buy a couple training sessions to learn a few other workouts. You can still teach this old dog new tricks. I see them do a lot of functional training, I would like to incorporate into my work out. I see the owner there a lot and she is very nice. Always says hi and asks how everything is, and if everything is okay. I've never seen an owner so hands on like she is, at any other gym I've ever been to. She really cares. And she keeps the club super clean. You can tell that is a high priority to them. The last gym I was at was always dirty and that was terrible. Its nice to work out in a clean environment. I would recommend they get more bands and mats. There are some there but they need more. Also, one of the TVs doesn't work but they said that would be fixed this week. All in all I highly recommend Snap Fitness. Its high end, clean, has everything I need. Their customer service is outstanding. And its inexpensive. Less then the other gyms in the area. Can't go wrong. Go to Snap Fitness. More...

My experience at Snap was short but pleasant. My family lives in Carrboro, so every time I'm visiting them I feel guilty about eating and not exercising. Well, not anymore. We came together for a private workout session with Josh on Saturday morning. He created a circuit that would allow the three of us to exercise together, independently of our level. It was a 7-station circuit that activated mostly upper body, lower back and abs. Throughout the session he increase the length of each exercise, which added a layer of difficulty to every exercise. If this was only about Josh's attention and professionalism, it would be 5-stars, however there were two things in my experience that could have been better:- the room where we did the circuit is where they usually hold Hot Yoga classes, so you can imagine how warm it was, right? - some of the equipment is outdated and asking for a replacement. The gym itself has a great location, in the middle of Southern Village, with a parking lot right in front of it and it's 24/7 -- so you can work out at any time, even during finals at UNC. Prices are reasonable. You finally have no excuse to avoid working out. More...

I recently went with a yogi friend to snap fitness at Southern Villiage for my first hot yoga class. The instructor, Lexi, was welcoming when we first arrived. She is very knowledgable on beginner level poses/movements as well as the more advanced poses/movements. She never made me feel stupid for not knowing the differernt poses and instead provided positive reinforcement and direct instruction. Although I can't compare her classes to any others based on personal experience, I think anyone new to yoga would find her classes welcoming and a great beginners class. Lexi definitely likes to push her students to really challenge themselves. After class with her, you can be proud that you did it. And despite the inevitable muscle soreness you'll experience the next day, you'll be ready to go back in there and do it all over again the next day! More...

Their price is too good to beat, I don't mind that is a little small because the equipment is quality and it never seems crowded. Always open too, great location.
