The pulled pork and sides were very good. The pork was not dry and had flavor without the sauces added. The cucumber salad was crunchy and tasty. The mac n cheese was perfect very creamy and cheesy. I love having variety and having 3 different sauces to try on my meat was great! This was my first visit. I loved the overall look of the place inside and out! The staff was very friendly and welcoming! There was a great beer selection for those of us who enjoy local and craft beer as well as a nice cocktail menu . Our food was delicious! I had the fish tacos which were made with golden fried catfish shredded cabbage and tomatoes. I added a side of sweet potato fries which are served in a fun tin bucket and would have served a whole table. My son chose the Cuban sandwich which he devoured! His girlfriend had a fun burger called the "frickle" burger which was huge and juicy and of course included fried pickles. The bartender was our server and she was great! The hostess was super friendly! I'm happy that I'll be visiting Worcester regularly because I can plan to return to the smoke stack! More...

First off, We were greeted by a very polite bartender. We started off with the coffee Porter and buffalo wings. Those were probably the best wings we've had in a decade! I chose to have the 8oz burger, I swore it was grass fed because it was such a unique flavor. Loved it. Had to take a Scooby bite because it was beautifully large! (That's what I said) It was huge!  It was incredibly tender and juicy! The coleslaw was fresh and delicious! My husband had the brisket and it was tender and juicy and delicious! My wife and I recently dined at Smokestack Urban Barbecue and it was delicious. The bar was a little dark by my standards and I had a hard time reading the menu.  The bartenders were both attentive and gave us the opportunity to try several different draft choices before deciding on a Mighty Squirrel Kiwi flavored IPA for my wife and a Wormtown for me.  Both were delicious with the Mighty Squirrel being a major surprise for me, the hint of kiwi was just right.  We both ordered sandwiches, pulled pork and the brisket with the barbecued chips.  The sandwiches arrived promptly, we each tried the others and then proceeded to devour our selections.  Smokestack lived up to its reputation as the best barbecue in Worcester. I can't wait to return and try the ribs and other entrees for a more full dining experience.  I would have given 5 stars but the parking lot is small and hard to get in and out of sorry to say. Had a great first time experience at smokestack! Brisket player was nice and lean and certainly plentiful. My girls enjoyed the pulled pork dinner. We added the sampler plate. So much tasty food. Solid bbq joint in heart of Worcester, Mass. Nice ambiance, great service and pretty decent bbq. Smoked wings were outstanding, got the chipotle bbq. Brisket was good, a little dry for my taste but still enjoyable. Surprise of the dinner were my friends sweet potato fries...really amazing. As good as I have had. Sides were decent. We were driving home to Westchester county NY from New Hampshire and needed a place that was convenient to the Mass Pike. Saw the good reviews on yelp and decided to give it a try . Everything was SO GOOD from the service to the food to the casual atmosphere. I got the pulled pork tacos and my husband had the ribs with Mac n cheese, greens, and bbq beans for sides. Also came with cornbread. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful and delicious. Whoever was back there cooking was doing it with love. With a rare date night on hand, and a hankerin' for BBQ, hubs & I headed to try smokestack.Parking in the neighborhood is. .. Um... Complex, but please don't let that discourage you. The restaurant has a lot that holds about 10 cars, plus on street meter parking.  Around 7pm on a Thursday night we entered the clean, modern interior, and were met, greeted, & seated immediately. Menu was straightforward. Prices were reasonable.  We started with bourbon peach tea & fried pickles. The pickles were delish (didn't love the accompanying sauce, but that's personal taste.)  For entrees we had brisket and half rack of ribs.Portions were good, not gluttonous. Meat platter comes with 2 sides + cornbread. The meats were smoky & tender. No sauce needed.  Two cocktails, appetizer, and two full plate entrees came in under $70. Plus, we have enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow.  Definitely worth a trip through Kelley Square! More...

Tonight (6/29/19), we tried Smokestack  for takeout and, man , am I glad we did.We ordered quite a bit, as you will see.  All was ready by the 30 minutes they told us.BBQ chips - holy smokes.  Nice crispy fresh potato chips with a smidge of bbq rub.  That dip, though.  Wow.  I thought,"Why?" Then I tried it.  Blue cheese bacon and just enough other notes to be smooth and savory.Smoked ribs - perfect.  Tender, moist, just enough residual fat and a great balanced smoke.  The rub did it's job adding flavor but not shouting over the pork.  Small ring, but the flavor was amazing.  They gave a small tub of the three bbq sauces.  Gotta say, not a fan of mustardy sauces but theirs converted me.Smoked wings - fantastic.  Smokey and cooked long enough to render out some of the fat.  Tender and cooked through.  The honey habanero sauce was fiery, sweet, and delicious.The Caesar salad was great with fresh clean romaine and a dressing that was not too heavy.  I look at croutons.  Why? Because they can be a secondary consideration.  It's just one other measure of attention to detail.  Theirs were great and even survived the trip home in the container with the greens. The extra steak tips on top were juicy, cooked medium well and seasoned just right.The BBQ chicken salad was a mosaic of delicious bits but the corn and chicken were standouts.  Well done.We also had the beignets.  Best eaten while still hot, they were delightful with the light sprinkling of powdered sugar and the hot fudge to dip.  Eat them hot, they get a bit tough when they cool.Bread pudding- haven't eaten it yet.  I'm too full.  I'll update tomorrow.  (Next day edit 6/30/19) I ate the bread pudding for breakfast.  Nice.  Kind of bready, but it's really good stuff.  Would be elevated with a creme anglaise or just a little something to just make it a little easier to get down.  Again, it is still really really good.Want to see a neat trick?  Buy me some more of their ribs and I'll make them disappear. Third time here and they never disappoint. The smoked wings are awesome. You choose from three sauces but we get them plain and ask for all of the sauces on the side. Perfect!! The ribs have a good smoke ring. The pulled pork sandwich is huge. The mac n cheese side is delicious. And they make their own onion strings. Good all by themselves!!! Went here for dinner after hearing a lot about it. This place was great and totally hip. I had the brisket Reuben and my mom had pulled pork and my dad had the half chicken. We all loved it. I would so come back here. This place was fast as in we got seated right away with no wait and our food got to us in no time, you gotta love a place that serves you right away and with a smile on their face. Stopped by for dinner on a road trip back to New York City and I thought the experience was overall great. I came with a party of 9 around 8pm and we were immediately seated since the restaurant wasn't really busy. Our server was extremely nice and helpful. The food came out pretty quickly as well. I decided to share a combo plate with my boyfriend since that typicall feeds two people. We chose the sliced brisket, pulled pork, and spare ribs. The sliced brisket was juicy and flavorful, which was awesome. The spare ribs tasted like any other place; nothing to special. The pulled pork was a little dry and bland, which was unfortunate. Aside from our dish, our friends got other things like the shrimp Po-Boy, brisket reuben, and pork tacos. They overall enjoyed their dinner. If we ever do take a road trip and we pass by Massachusetts, we may stop by here again. More...

After a Army vs. Holy Cross COLD baseball game this was a great spot to warm up and refresh.  Friendly staff got us going with a good local craft beer selection.  Other drinks available (Margarita and Mule both good).  It's about the BBQ, though.  Smokers in the parking lot tell us this place is legit.  I had a very healthy pulled pork sandwich with great slaw and good options for sauce.  Also had wings - some of the best sized wings I have had.  Left very satisfied and would go back for both dishes.
