Last night we were really looking forward to visiting Smoke, Fire & Coal for the 1st time. I had just been released from the E. R. after waiting there 7 hours without food. Needless to say, I was pretty hungry. I checked numerous times on the website & it said no wait time, come on in! We finally arrived at 8:10pm & when my sister went to get a table, she was told that the kitchen had closed early. 2 hours early! The gentleman she talked to said they "sometimes close early on the off season". The restaurant was still pretty busy and downtown seemed to be too. I'd understand closing maybe an hour early, but 2 hours early? All 3 of us were so disappointed because we really had been looking forward to going there. I was less than impressed. We had 4 in our party. Three ordered 2 meat meals. The 4th ordered a half rack of ribs. All of us had cold food. The only thing warm was our Mac and cheese. 2 of us ordered a salad as one of the side options, one ceasar the other a regular salad with dressing. Both of us received a ceasar salad. We all ate because we were hungry. The brisket was ALL fat. I know this can be fatty, but not like this. This was our first and last time coming in. When told our food was cold, the waitress said, "Oh, I'll let the kitchen know." When we left, we went to the host station and waited 3 to 4 min to be helped. The other server walked past us without any acknowledgement. When asked what the kitchen had said, she kind of shrugged and said they apologized to her. We were not apologized to. I generally don't make a big fuss about poor food or service. All service jobs are difficult enough. However, I'm bothered by the lack of caring or professionalism exhibited by all of the staff. Obviously they reheat there food, just not adequately. Ordered half rack of pork ribs with Peach Brussels. Both came out luke warm. Ordered six Fire Roasted clams on the half shell. Came out severely overcooked. Super overpriced for poor food. This place will not last long in this area if this is the best they have to offer. I will not return. More...

My husband & stopped by and had an awesome meal!!! The brisket was cooked to perfection! Moist & melt in your mouth yummy! They were kind enough to let our service dog join us.
