Went there for late lunch (around 2pm) and had a great pulled pork burger with sweet potatoe fries and a glass of wine. The staff was adorably nice! ! Cool place to get some barbecue. It has some vegan choices. Smoke & Barrel is one of the popular places in Adams Morgan. Lots of good drinks in addition to food. They have happy hour and the late night specials. I came with a female friend on one night. It was late and they were just about to close the kitchen so we got a drink. The next time we came for happy hour and got in on some of the good food. It has all kinds of barbecue. This doesn't mean you have to be a meat eater. You can get some of the vegan wings. Came to DC for a hockey game and stumbled across this gem! Not only were they the only bar open at 2:30 but they had a great selection of beers on draft and bourbons! Not to mention the amazing food! Jace was bartending and made us feel right at home as if we were at our local watering hole. Then to top it off they had our hometown Genny Cream Ale in Tap! 10/10 will be back! This place is awesome! Great environment and where else can you bring your meat eating, bbq loving friends along with your vegan pals? !This place has a few of a community hang out for folks that are regulars but it's welcoming to all. The bbq is delicious - better than when I was living in Louisiana - I recommend 'muddy' style but it's all very good from my experience. The sweet potato donuts are out of this world. Wow! What a find! The bar downstairs was a revelation with a witty and fun vibe, provided by the bartender Matt. We happened upon this location by chance but will assuredly return again for libations and some laughs.

I used to love the one in DC because they had a killer brunch and excellent beer list. This new location in Arlington was not that busy even tho I stopped by around noon on a Saturday. No wait as there were plenty of open tables, I guess the locals haven't figured out what they are missing yet. The staff didn't seem to know the menu that well but they were friendly. They still have a solid beer list tho I think Dominion W&B restaurant still has the best one in NoVA. I knew they had an extensive beer list but the food was characterized as pub grub. Not that I dont love a great burger and fried treats, but this place has much more. I had a delicious roasted corn salad with chicken. My husband had the salmon and loved it. The beer selections we're great and they have 4 oz. glasses if you want to try something. Service was great. Been here twice now, incredible food both times and excellent service. Definitely a go-to hangout spot now on our rotation. Great beer list. Only thing I’d recommend is getting some shades for the windows. The setting sun is blinding and it would be nice to feel less exposed to the outside and more cozy when sitting at the bar at night! I visited again since my last review and the service was much improved - Water is now served in pitchers at each table that were often refilled, so we had no complaints there, and the staff went out of their way to make sure everyone was accommodated. Thanks S&B team!

I leave with a big smile every time I visit Smoke & Barrel. The food is AWESOME and the staff is GREAT! The brisket is one of my favorite things on the menu, juicy and full of flavor.
