Smarty Pants

I contacted Smarty Pants the week of my daughter's 1st birthday as I realized keeping almost 30 kids entertained at a party in a restaurant was going to be challenging.  Smarty Pants was super responsive and we were able to get them scheduled for balloon twisting the following weekend. Everyone absolutely loved the entertainment and the balloon twisting was the hit of the party! Both the young and the older kids loved every minute of it and the kids were kept entertained for 1.5 hours.  I've had so many friends contact me saying that their kids want Smarty Pants for their next party. We had Smarty Pants come in for our son's bday party and it was amazing! They captivated a group of 3-7yr olds for the entirety of the 45 minutes showtime. The show is magic, comedy, and balloons all rolled up into one that had the kids giggling, gawking, and laughing all the way through. Our son also had so much fun being on stage as the "helper"- the smiles on his face were priceless. All the "take home" balloons we got from some of the props used were icing on the cake. Smarty Pants and Miss Dena were the hit of our 4 year old's birthday party! They were great with the kids and the balloons amazed all ages! Face (and arm) painting was awesome. I was so busy running around during the party and Smarty entertained the ~20 kids easily. They were entranced by the balloon making and then had fun playing with their balloons. I was feeding everyone lunch when Smarty and Miss Dena headed out. I didn't get to gush to them in person so I'm glad to do it on Yelp! UN-balloon-able. Marty is simply amazing! His balloon creations are unlike anything my wife and I have seen - such a talented, professional, friendly, and amazing person. Smarty Pants was amazing! I did a lot of research for a balloon artist as I wanted someone that was reliable but that I would also be comfortable being with the kids. I watched all the videos and was so impressed by the interaction and fun! I booked smarty pants for the balloon portion for by sons 4 year old birthday party at a Southport pizzeria in the basement party room and it was amazing. The funny part is he goes there every Tuesday for kids night and everyone in the restaurant has such good things to say before he even got there. Smarty Pants was on time and so engaging with all the kids and made the MOST amazing balloon art for all the kids. Everyone kept asking where I found him! It was such a fun time for the kids but even more amazing for the adults to watch the magic he made with balloons. If I had more room I for sure would have done the bigger show but will for sure be. I just saw the Smartypants show at the DeKalb public library today, and I was so impressed! I'm in town from California on vacation to see family with my not so easy to please three year old daughter, and my mother suggested a balloon show at the library. I though, sure, why not, but didn't expect much. Oh how wrong I was! We got to the performance room, and it was packed full of excited kids! It was a super fun, professional show with great music, magic tricks and interactive balloon games. The Smartypants team (he and his wife) were incredibly fun to watch, engaged the crowd. My family has had the pleasure of seeing Smarty Pants several times. He makes rather amazing balloons and always keeps everyone laughing--kids and adults. We have seen him at a restaurant during busy dinner time. He takes his time to talk to the kids and get to know what they like and always creates something fantastic. We hired Smarty Pants and Miss Dena for our son's 1st birthday party and they were AWESOME. Smarty Pants is very upbeat and positive, he chats with the kids while he works, and he creates the most amazing balloon designs you have ever seen. I'm not joking. The kids at our party (and their parents) went nuts. They had purses, wearable angel wings, super tall, elaborate crowns and hats, guitars, dragons, minions...you name it. I needed a balloon artist last minute for my daughter's party.  Last minute beggars couldn't be choosers so I went with the first person who appeared qualified and was available.  Boy did I luck out.  He's the Michael Jordan of balloon twisting, seriously.  He entertained the kids for the full 90 minutes but what's more is that he was amazing at relating to the kids in a funny and totally non-creepy way.  Turns out he's a dad of a 4 year old, so he get it.  Each child at my daughter's party came away with a beautiful balloon creation all their own.  I would have him back in a heartbeat my daughter is still raving about Mr. Smarty Pants More...

We had SP for our daughter's 8th birthday - it was a SMASH! Smarty Pants was prompt for set up - worked with our space. There was a 30 minute show, very cute. Then he and Ms Dena made balloon party favors and face painting for the guests. Our daughter felt so special. I have to admit.  Being a parent is a tough business.  What makes it all worth it for me is seeing my boys laugh.  I also have to admit.  I unnecessarily go all way out for my boys' birthday parties.  I know kids birthday parties don't have to be so fancy and expensive but there are two things I really want when I plan.  Kids having fun and parents being able to relax watching their kids having good time.   I had Smarty Pants do my 6 yr old boys birthday party and I couldn't ask for more.  He was very prompt with responding.  He had no problem making Pokemon party possible.  They showed up earlier than promised to start setting up.  The show was very well prepared, well thought out, and very entertaining.  Most of all, I heard SO MUCH LAUGH.  Watching facial expressions on these kids faces was just priceless.  It's unbelievable what Smarty Pants can do with these balloons.  The birthday boy received few presents made with balloons including life size Pikachu.  After the show all of the kids got whatever they wanted made by Smarty Pants to take home with.  His wife did fantastic job with face painting.  Since kids got busy with balloon making and face painting after the show, parents got to relax and mingle.  Mission accomplished!!!  Thank you, Smarty Pants, for making my son's birthday extra special!!! I wanted my granddaughter's 7th birthday to be extra special. It was her "golden birthday". As i researched child entertainers, I came across Smarty Pants websight. I noticed he had appeal to boys and girls. I also notice his wife comes along a does face painting after the balloon show. My concern was the expense. I went out on a limb and booked Smarty Pants for our birthday party. I am so glad I did! Smarty Pants and his lovely wife Dena were fabulous with the kids. His show was entertaining and the balloon creations were spectacular! My granddaughter received so many exceptional balloon creations. Everychild left with at least two balloon creations. Every child that wanted their face painted, was awarded their request. Smarty Pants and Dena stayed beyond their hour and a half obligation until every child request for balloons and face painting was granted. It was a party to remember. I'm a parent of a 4 year old and volunteered for the school "park day" and decided to surprise the 4-5 year olds today with SmartyPants (I booked him just last night so excellent response time).  He got through almost 30 kids in the hour and was spectacular.  He was very nice, kind, and most of all did not dress like a scary clown just a friendly guy with a big smile!!!!He made such a variety for the kids:  Headbands, stick figures, dragonfly, hearts, monkey backpack, swords, and much more.He was there on time and actually made sure to fix any balloons the kids accidentally popped while he was there as well.Great Job SmartyPants, I feel like the SmartyPants for hiring him!!!! Smarty Pants performed balloon twisting for my daughter's 10th birthday party yesterday and was awesome! I can't say enough wonderful things about Smarty Pants and Miss Dena!  They provided entertainment for my son's and his friend's joint 4th birthday party.  WOW!  I, along with all of the parents, were blown (no pun intended) away.  The balloon show was a huge production....they did an incredible job of keeping the kids (and parents) entertained.  And the balloons!  He made special hat and "gear" for the birthday boys....it was epic.  All of the kids had a chance to get balloons after the show (and not just a generic poodle, mind you....these were masterpieces).  Miss Dena also did face-painting (my son went back for seconds....I've never seen a Spiderman like the one she did.  He was in HEAVEN).  We were so impressed by their professionalism, talent and creativity.  They are nothing short of amazing.  Parents and kids are still talking about them....they were a HIT!  Highly recommended! I hired Mr. Smarty Pants and Ms. Dena for my daughter's 5th birthday a few weeks ago.    It was an amazing party and very much worth every penny! !!  The Big Balloon Show was awesome - I had an audience of (15) kids, ranging 3 - 7 and everyone was glued to what Mr. Smarty Pants was doing...even the Adults!   We loved him!!   He did a very good job of tailoring the show to my home and audience.   Ms. Dena painted faces, arms, etc. after the show!   They both took their time and made sure that every child had balloons and faces/arms painted before packing up and leaving.  I couldn't find one thing that could have been better.  Thank YOU Mr. Smarty Pants and Ms. Dena!!! We had the honor and pleasure of having Smarty Pants at our son's birthday party.  He was a total delight from start to finish. He was simply the best at what he does and was also funny, witty and extremely personable.  He had already had a long public engagement that day before ours, and you could never tell he had been literally doing his work all day long and into the night for us.  He was engaging, never tired - he managed to engage kids of all ages from boys at the "too cool" age for balloons, to teenagers, adults and the seniors in our family.  I would absolutely recommend him to anyone for any aged group.  Looking and thinking for another party or event to have him again before my son's birthday next year! This show was at our local library, Downers Grove. I thought it would be some guy making balloon animals and tossing them out to the kids. It was not that. It was much, much better. Smarty Pants and the Lovely Miss Dena put on a show that was reminiscent of the circus.  It inclluded amazing magic tricks, music, audience participation, humor, . There were a few balloon dogs, but Smarty Pants also rode a balloon motorcycle, he used it to jump over the balloon bicycle. This show is appropriate for kids, and the adults who love them. I just hired him for my son's 5yo party.  He was GREAT.  He captivated all the children well at least  until they got their prize.  And, yes, there is a clear rule of no balloons under 3 and my guest were aware and abided by this rule.  He doesn't just make the ordinary horse and sword.  He makes many elaborate and colorful balloon objects.  The main center piece was around 4 feet tall and looked like ironman.  All my guest left happy and with lifetime memories.  Isn't that what its all about? With a huuuge delay, I drop a few words of appreciation. Mr. Smarty Pants dropped by for a regular Wednesday night visit at a local restaurant on Higgins and Cumberland back in January this year. I was there with a friend enjoying some seriously good Sicilian pizza when Smarty entered and in a split second became center of all things - kids ran towards him whilst laughter and balloons, oh many balloons, filled up the place. We had a word with the wizard, trying to concentrate on his story of life. But it was difficult to do so, looking at the beautiful creations being formed, touched up and twisted... In the past I have had the pleasure of working with Smarty Pants & Ms Dena. I am a balloon twister as well and admire watching SP at work. His work is out of this world and a great personality to go with it.Of course there are those times when you have parents who cannot be satisfied, especially when us balloon twisters have strict rules, no balloon creation to the little ones less than 3 years old.
