Wedding cake is pretty dang good here! Doesn't matter if you're not at a wedding. Frosting is sweet and delicious. You can feel the sugar burn your enamel away.

We used Smallcakes to prepare some special cupcakes for a Gender Reveal party for our daughter.  It only took them a couple days to get them ready and the cupcakes we received were delicious, with just the right amount of icing, to include the surprise icing inside.  The downside is that the cupcakes were kinda small for the price. They absolutely have THE BEST cupcakes!! So many fun flavors! Their ice cream is creamy, delicious, and made in- house! I ordered the mini cupcakes for my daughter’s team dinners....they were a huge hit!

Never ordered a bad cupcake here. They are moist and the flavors are distinctive.  Wedding cake is one of my favorites, has the classic almond flavor. We haven't tried the cookies or small pies yet, so can't comment on those. The ladies that work here are always pleasant and helpful as well. Parking is easy and plentiful, and the shop is decorated cute inside with a few tables to sit if you like. This is our go-to nearby dessert place! More...

We got a chiller which is basically an ice cream cupcake sandwich in a cup. We got the Boston Cream Pie cupcake with Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream in a cup. The cupcake was so soft and moist. Also a scoop of milk chocolate ice cream in a cup. Everything was really good. One con though is I was expecting small cupcakes but they were regular sized. Doesn't help when you have a craving and just wanted something small to satisfy that sweet tooth while trying to be somewhat healthy. We did share the chiller though. A solid small bakery, I'd feel no hesitation about purchasing cakes and cupcakes from here for any special occasion.  They are quite cute and would work well for many occasions.  This place is also good for a quick dessert.The cupcakes are fresh and moist.  The large kind, typical of cupcakeries...one is plenty for dessert.  They have a huge variety of flavors and there are several daily specials each day.  I love the cake, particularly their chocolate cake recipe is close to perfectionTheir frosting, however, I do not like.  I can't pinpoint exactly what is wrong...I felt like it might be missing salt or the ratio of butter to sugar was wrong.  It pipes beautifully obviously, but the taste just isn't there.  I'm a big buttercream fan and use it on all my cakes (I do a fair amount of baking) but ultimately ended up scraping ALL the frosting off of the cupcakes I purchased for myself.  That's not a good sign.  Now I don't like Sprinkles frosting either...but Smallcakes has better cake, so that's why they get 4 stars instead of 3 from me.  I understand that frosting is a personal preference kind of thing..but since I really did not like the ones I've eaten, the 4 stars I've given does seem too high.  Pricing seemed fair and the box I was given to transport the cupcakes was perfect..they don't move around and mess each other up.  Next time I'll probably get a cupcake ice cream treat without the frosting.  Cute shop, recommend tweaking of the frosting recipe.  I have a couple left of more exotic flavors, perhaps the other frostings will suit me better.  I cannot recommend the pink (vanilla) frosting or the strawberry, unfortunately. My, oh My!! Loved every bite of my cupcakes! The cakes are moist and just the right amount of sugar, the cream/mousse on top so light and fluffy, though sometimes too sweet. I ordered the chocoholic, cookie monster, strawberry, and heavenly heath bar cupcakes. The cookie monster was my favorite, it had vanilla cake and some cream filling. I didn't really like the cupcakes with chocolate cake because even though the consistency of the cake was amazing, it tasted like out-of-the box cake. We love the variety at Smallcakes! The cupcakes are huge with intense flavors. This last trip we found the frosting to be a little sweeter than normal. But still I loved my milk chocolate frosted vanilla cupcake! We also tried the lemon, chocoholic, birthday cake and wedding cake flavors. Smallcakes ice creams looked good but we didn't try them this trip. Missing out on ice cream is just another reason for us to go back, right?! More...

Small cakes can be described in one word, decadent. I find it amusing how they ask you how you were doing, once you walk into small cakes it is obvious you are doing fantastic, YOU'RE GETTING READY TO HAVE A SMALLCAKE! This place offers a delightful variety awesome flavors, along with a flavor of the week for those that like to get adventurous. The cupcakes are rich and delicious, and the staff here is exceptionally fun. The place is spotless, there was always a smile and there was always someone cleaning. Not sure what more I can ask for any cupcake place, great service, great cupcakes, great experience.I'm a fan of the Peanut Butter Cupcake, my wife loves the Wedding Cake. Dropped in at Smallcakes in hope of grabbing some dessert for kids of a friend. I was amazed by at the variety they offered and eye popping beauty of the cupcakes. They looked so good that my wife and I went back the same afternoon to get some for us to eat. The visual appearance was only a hint of the moist, flavors. Absolutely delicious! I went here a couple of months ago and forgot to give a review. I'm not one to go to dessert shops, but this was a special occasion. The selection of cupcakes were impressive. The presentation was very pretty. The cupcakes were really really delicious. Wow. This place could be dangerous to your waistline! I'm very glad that I don't live too close to this shop. So good! Got six. Cake is my favorite and I'm super picky. The cake was moist and the frosting very good. Lots of places have such sugary icing where you can taste and feel the sugar in the icing. This was just wonderful. My favorites were the yellow cake with chocolate ganache like frosting (decadent was it called?) and the birthday cake one. My fiancé liked the red velvet. I tried the wedding cake one and it was good, but I preferred the others more...I hate eating cake or desserts that don't taste utterly delicious, because it's fattening and a waste of calories! These cupcakes are so worth the calories. Fyi I went in on a Saturday afternoon and they had many displayed and it appeared they have much more in the back, as once i got some more came from the back. So glad I gave this place a try! Oh. My. Goodness. We went for dessert tonight and I can honestly say I have never had a better cupcake. My husband and I split the chocolate cream because they're enormous and we're trying to be good. I wished I didn't have to share it. I was actually scraping the liner, it was that good. I normally don't love cupcakes because I'm not a frosting fan and that seems to be what other cupcakes are all about. The frosting seemed much better proportioned and was amazing. They have 16 standard flavors and 3 special flavors of cupcakes every day. We got there fairly late and it looked like they were out of a lot of flavors, but they apparently have more in the back, so if you don't see what you want, just ask. They also make their own ice cream and that's what my boys had. The strawberry ice cream was amazing. One of the boys couldn't decide between two flavors so the employee suggested getting a one scoop size with both flavors. They serve the ice cream by weight, so it wasn't a problem to make it half and half. We will definitely be back. More...

I've spent over a week in Dallas, for work, but decided to hang on and visit family...although close to exhaustion. When all was said and done, I felt that I deserved a treat! Cupcakes, it would be! And so I began the search (on Yelp) and made my way to Smallcakes (Frisco)! I sampled the vanilla and chocolate buttercream, as I am quite particular. As SOON as I took that first "lick", I knew I was in the right place. The hardest part was making my selection, but with the assistance of a VERY KIND and PATIENT staff member/cupcake fairy godmother, I went with Chocoholic (only for the true chocolate lover) and Birthday Cupcake. As I made my way up to my hotel room, everyone (from the valet to other guests) made comments on the packaging, as well. One of the valet staff actually made note in his phone! Y'all... I couldn't get to my hotel room fast enough! After my first bite, I put down the cupcake, immediately picked up my phone and started this review! The frosting is TRUE buttercream. Yet another addicting and heavenly find here.  We were looking for some cupcakes at the last minute for my daughter's birthday after moving here to the North Dallas area.  I called asking if they had any left, and was told they were out of most, BUT fresh batches were coming out in 15 minutes for several popular flavors (at 7 PM mind you). When we arrived, they custom decorated a cupcake for my baby while prepping several other fresh out of the oven.  Incredible flavor and texture.  The icing was incredible to but it placed a distant second to the wonderful cake.  We bought a half dozen and enjoyed them so much we had to make a second visit two days later.  Ice cream, custom cakes and an incredible variation of flavors to choose from.  All so far have been MUCH better in many ways than the other big name cupcake places.  Strongly advised to try if you have one in your area. Very impressive cupcake shoppe! Not only do they have incredibly moist and amazingly flavorful cupcakes, but they have parfaits and cookie ice cream sandwiches! So many different flavors that it's hard to choose! Plus, they have extra cupcakes in the back and frost them fresh when you place your order! There's a children's table and a place for the tiny set to play while grown-ups enjoy their treat too!!! We have been two days in a row and have tried many different flavors.
