Worthless homeowners policy. They do not want to cover storm damage from hail, etc... Never been so disappointed with an insurance company. They make fun of you on phone and say go ahead and "call the CEO for all that matters" laughing and hang up on you. Been customer 20 something years. Will be switching to different company as the quality and customer service are poor! My husband was at fault in a car accident and we had it towed to the closest body shop. USAA never sent an adjuster to inspect our vehicle. Instead they relied on pictures we sent along with the body shop estimate. USAA ruled it totaled and offered a low value. We had to go back and forth with calling USAA and every time we were transferred to a different agent requiring us to explain our situation over and over again. We finally received a slightly increased estimate after pointing out each feature they missed, The Comps were also low and even though they agreed that their comps were unfair like 2 times the mileage, we could not get USAA to look at Comps we provided. Been with this insurance company for 20 years and never had one accident. Then when someone pulls in front of me and break checks me and causes me to hit them. THEY BLAME ME. I was in an accident in my boyfriends car while he was driving and I was riding. Another car cut us off and break checked us. I got hurt in the accident and it's been 6 months since the accident and I have had to call them a lot, and the providers who cared for me. USAA has not paid one bill. I have done everything they asked. I called today to talk to the adjustor and I got the run around about verifying who I am. They want me to get online and send them a photo of my ID. This place did nothing but give me run around for over an hour. I hung up. I am annoyed and I just don't feel like fighting anymore. I’ve only been a member since ‘97…some folks posting 50-70 year memberships. They are HORRIBLE! Run away and find a local bank. There’s plenty of insurance competition with better offers out there. USAA has failed me on three occasions. The first, they let another mortgage company take over when we had our first house. Ran into tough times. That company had no inclination to help us out. Followed up with USAA and they said it wasn’t their problem. The second time I was coming home at 120am and my two right tires blow out. It triggered a mental health crisis. Instead of dispatching the tow truck, they dispatched the county sheriff. Who verified I wasn’t drinking nor speeding and I didn’t hit anything. The sheriffs would leave me there and USAA didn’t get a tow truck to me until 940am. I spent the night in the back of my truck in freezing temperatures. Yes, I could have called someone, but unfortunately, these days in Western Washington, you leave something unattended, the addicts will find it and rob you blind. The third thing is yesterday. I received the attached letter asking my wife to verify her profile. Pay attention to the highlighted portion. We’ve been with these clowns for over 26 years and a USAA Vice President tells us he is going to use the full extent of the law to lock up our accounts if we don’t comply given their timeline. We’re minding our own business, not doing anything out of the ordinary and an executive officer comes after us with his fangs out. Threats? Intimidation? Is this how you want to bank? Is this the type of service you would expect as a customer after over a quarter century?!? Seriously, find a local bank/credit union. These ‘suits’ only care about the bottom line. What’s sad is most of these clowns who make the decisions and policy are former service members themselves (EXCLUDING the CEO). I'll never finance through you guys again! Over 10 years insured with you or held accts with you... It's a waste of my time! I have a total of 2000$ of debt in all and even thats gettingpaid off tomorrow. I make over 100k a year alone, and I get denied for an auto loan. I have over 50k in my savings acct. Pay under a thousand a month in rent and have a 700 credit score with no delinquencies or late payments!!! Tell me why I'm denied.... Navy federal approved the same loan i applied for with you not 10 minutes after i was denied by USAA so no difference in credit report??? I'll be finding a new insurance company as well after I was forced to pay more then double to add my son to my policy! From 168$ a month with 2 cars fully covered with 2 drivers to 430$ a month for adding my son with a clean driving record for more then 6 months as a new driver!! are you kidding me!! Why is anyone ok with paying these companies this kinda money for somthing they almost never use! Usaa has lost its value to veterans!!! Zero added benefit over the civilian market providers! This is the worst service I've ever received. I lost my phone and have been trying to change my number. I sent my ID through the verification process listed on site 10 days ago and have not heard back from anyone. I have been able to change my number through other banking services with a phone call to customer service. They keep trying to send a verification to a phone I don't have. Now my insurance is pass due because they claim the cannot use any other methods to verify me. This is frustrating and ridiculous. I would not recommend anyone to use this service for anything. In 1983, my father, who was a Veteran of the Korean War and an active or maybe retired Commander in the Naval Reserves, forced me to become a USAA member and get renter’s insurance before I could move out. That was when USAA was available only for officers and their families and makes me a 40+ year member of USAA. I’ve always been a loyal member to USAA, which is now proving to be one sided. USAA has loyalty only to themselves and are now WOKE, which is why our military can’t find enough recruits. Small wonder. Today, I tried to log into my cell app and used the correct password and got locked out. I called and the untrained representative wouldn’t help me even when I gave correct identification answers to her questions, except evidently the wrong on one password. She couldn’t even give me a hint as to exactly what the code’s purpose is. Everyone has endless codes to proceed onto websites, however this inadequately trained rep refused to transfer me to a supervisor, so that this issue could be quickly resolved and keep me satisfied with the service provided by USAA. Furthermore, I seriously doubt that USAA actually reviews the many recent serious complaints made by longtime members of USAA. Corporate has decided to lock itself in their IVORY TOWER, by only providing phone contact through their main 800 number. Nice. The great beacon for me is that last year, I heard about NAVY FEDERAL and I was able to join them and get a toehold by opening an account with them! My car insurance for 2 cars needs renewing this month and my house and property insurance renews in April. Pretty sizable chunk of premiums, eh? For the first time, I’m seriously, very seriously considering switching to Navy Federal for everything!!! I have always been blindingly non curious about the competitive companies insurance rates because I’m so loyal to USAA. A few years ago, I was appalled when USAA closed its investments department and transferred everything to Schwab. As soon as that happened, I realized that USAA was going downhill with high velocity. Immediately, I transferred my investments accounts to Vanguard, a far superior company than Schwab! Extremely happy with Vanguard and their customer service is way superior than USAA. USAA must contact me ASAP to discuss remedying my displeasure with them. I will attempt one more time to call them. Im a repair facility who took on a vehicle which is insured by USAA and has been for years. The customer brought the vehicle in and I inspected it as usual. I called in the claim for the customer and an inspector came out. The vehicle was inspected and I was informed it would get approved. Once I received the repair estimate I called in for verification. I was told over the phone I was ok to begin repair and we were approved. I ordered all the parts and paid my guys to install everything. After completing the repair I attempted to get paid for the job. I was given the runaround for 2 weeks and told there is an investigation on the claim of the customer. After going back and forth I was finally told they were sending a check for the repair. After never receiving the check I called again to figure out whats going on. A company of this caliber you would think they had their stuff together. I was wrong. I was then told the check had been voided by the manager and they didn't know why. This company is terrible and unethical. I got rear-ended by a USAA policyholder last month who was at-fault and hit me first before being rear-ended by an 18-wheeler himself. Tomorrow will be 30 days and still no answers to fix my vehicle because their client lied AFTER admitting fault via text and said the 18-wheeler hit him first. The issue? The 18-wheeler left the scene so no way to verify. They wanted to “see what their client meant” when he said “I’m sorry for hitting you the other day, I didn’t see traffic had stopped when I cut over to exit onto Sxxxh St”. Seems pretty straightforward to everyone BUT the adjuster, Joshua Hale and his supervisor Jason Potters. They claim the driver who I was pushed into “isn’t a witness” ofc because he was “involved” (yet didn’t have any damage or injuries) yet both of us saw him cut over and rear-end me first which was corroborated by the “witness”. They are doing NOTHING but opening up their own client to a lawsuit while attempting to deny **coverage** for the accident entirely after telling me they’ve “already pretty much determined liability”- Jason Potters RUN. USAA themselves went from a AAA to an F rating on the BBB in ONE YEAR in 2022-2023, in-part for defrauding their clients and had to pay out over $15M. HORRIBLE company. RUN, do not walk, to any other company, but make sure it has an office that you can actually walk in and talk to your agent, otherwise stay as far away as you can! !! Our dad passed, all we needed was a copy of the claims history, and FOUR days later we still have nothing. Every time you get them the documents they need, then they magically need something else, then after that we get, "oh, we need to talk to your brother to get a verbal over the phone." I said call him, you have the number, but no, they won't do that. My brother emailed over a release, which they requested, but the email had to come to me, which I had to screenshot and upload on their website, because they do not accept emails - I'm sure this is because their inboxes were filled with how incompetent and horrible they are. We will not be able to close on the sale of our dads house, because we can't get the documents required by law, because they are completely incapable of doing their jobs. In four days, I now have over TWENTY (20) hours trying to get two simple reports. As a loyal customer of USAA for over 15 years, I regrettably experienced an extremely disheartening encounter with their auto insurance department recently. My interaction with Jessica left me feeling utterly disappointed and frustrated as my issue did not get resolved and I met a person who showed me the worst passive aggressive attitude which made me feel like the company I have come to love did not have my best interest at heart. Upon calling USAA for assistance with my insurance matter, Jessica exhibited a concerning level of passive-aggressiveness throughout our conversation that convey an air of condescension not welcomed nor necessary, her responses were laced with subtle hints of disdain which were also not welcomed. Instead of providing the empathetic and helpful support I expected from a reputable company like USAA, Jessica's attitude made me feel belittled and unvalued as a customer. Her lack of professionalism and empathy only served to exacerbate the frustration I was already experiencing with the issue at hand. As Marine who has served this nation for over 21 years and who has been a loyal customer for over a decade, I am deeply disappointed by the quality of service provided by Jessica and the auto insurance department. It is disheartening to see such a renowned company fail to uphold the standards of customer service and professionalism that they are known for. USAA was originally founded for military officers overseas as it was difficult for them to be insured. USAA has lost sight of their mission. I have been a member over 40 years and have watch their reputation go into the toilet. They used to be featured on CNBC. Not anymore. I am overseas and I used to be able to go to an atm and get money no charge. Well now there is an ATM charge, but get this, I am charged 1 percent. So 500 would be 5 dollars. No! you get charged on the ATM fee as well. So a 500 dollar transaction is 505.05 plus the 5 dollar ATM fee. Now my direct deposts got to Schwab. Try moving money from USAA to Schwab and it is not done easily and automatically with a bank to bank transfer. They delay to write a check, then they delay to put that check in the mail. I have been waiting over ten days for a transfer to arrive from USAA to Schwab via their bill pay system. Imagine if I used it to pay actual bills, I would be in the poor house with late fees. I have a Visa card through them which seems to be the only decent feature they can offer but a recent fraud, they had to issue a new one. I have been waiting for over six weeks for that to arrive. I called and they sent it to a wrong address I was told. How could that happen, my information is current in my profile on the USAA improved website. I'm a member of USAA, I was also rear ended by a member of USAA. They refused to pay for a rental car provided while my car was being repaired, as if that wasn't enough USAA also refused to pay for the ambulance that transported me to the hospital. I contacted the BBB Better Business Bureau and they lied to me and the BBB as to why they had not paid for anything. Be very careful when dealing with USAA. This is a cautionary tale for all current USAA members. My parents were joint clients of USAA for almost 60 years. They initially had insurance, but added USAA banking and credit card services. My father died in September of 2023. Like all private, public, and federal agencies, USAA requested a death certificate, which I provided. Unfortunately, once my father's death certificate was received, USAA took my father's name off ALL the accounts. As you can imagine, this made further interaction with USAA extremely difficult, from closing out the credit card accounts to cashing in my father's USAA life insurance policy. I remember one phone exchange where the USAA rep refused to speak with my mother, even though mom was still on all the accounts. Mom offered to send the USAA rep a certified copy of her marriage license and or certificate to prove she was married to my father. The USAA rep stated that those documents were not good enough to prove her relationship to my father and their authentication. process My mother was deeply saddened by this exchange. USAA needs to remember their older clients, who may not be familiar with an authentication process, but helped USAA become so successful. It took over 4 months to process all the claims and products that my parents had with USAA. In comparison, it took 14 days to process accounts my parents had jointly with another company comparable to USAA. We had a total loss of a vehicle on 11/24/2023. When speaking to an employee regarding removing vehicle from the policy I was told that it could not be removed until plates were returned however once that was completed to call back for them to back date to the date of the total loss. When I called in to remove the vehicle on 1/17/24 after the plates where returned I was informed something different. I was told it could not be backdated. I informed the employee that I was told it could and if I had been told this I would have made sure the plates were returned as soon as possible so I was not paying for a car I no longer had. The employee told me her manager will review the calls and if it was found USAA was at fault my bill would be adjusted and I would be given a call in 48 hours. I waited until 1/23/24 since I had no follow up and was told this is once again not the case. That there was nothing they can do. We have been members with USAA for 16+ years and we are now being penalized for an employee there providing me incorrect information. I am requesting USAA honor what their employee said and back date my bill to the date of the total loss. More...

I have been a USAA member for over 20 years. I have always enjoyed their positive customer service. Last night that changed for me. I hit a deer. I was fine. My truck wasn't. It was cold, wet and I was on the side of the road trying to get a tow. I called USAA and was transferred 4 times. On the 4th time, I explained my concerns with the continual transfers and let the individual know that I didn't want to be transferred again, that I wanted to speak with their supervisor. After an extended wait, their supervisor refused to speak with me to address my concerns. The staff member was rude, spoke over me and failed to address my concerns. I was involved in an accident with another USAA customer on 14 September. Over the next 8 weeks I spent numerous hours on the phone, filling out documents, asking for reimbursement of expenses, and pulling information from the USAA adjuster all along the way. It took over three plus weeks for me to get the name of the USAA adjuster to finally start my claims process. The adjuster didn’t seem to know what expenses were reimbursable, how the documentation was supposed to be completed by their third party, and my replacement title was sent to an address I hadn’t lived in for over six years. Complete lack of customer service – worst experience ever! It seems when USAA is on the hook for expenses they take an inordinate amount of time to settle the claim – EIGHT WEEKS TO GET PAID FOR A CLAIM IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I spent numerous hours, with little help from USAA to finally come to a resolution regarding my claim. I was the one always initiating contact to find out where in the process my claim was and it’s obvious the claims process is broken. The adjusters do not know what expenses can be reimbursed by USAA, do not understand the document process required by USAA’s own third-party provider – Copart, and fail to keep the customer updated as to the status of the claim. USAA has shown their lack of customer support. After providing my feedback to the claims manager I was asked if I would be willing to discuss my feedback. I said yes but for some reason the manager was unable to reach me at my number – I was told each time they called my number they received a busy signal – which was funny because I had no record of incoming calls from USAA in my call history AND no one else had any issues reaching me at my number. The week of Veterans Day, while driving, road debris damaged our Rav 4 Toyota insured with USAA. Upon calling claims department, after finally getting through to them, they promptly hung up on me when I couldn’t correctly recite the on line user name, pin, password and all sorts of other information needed just to talk to these guys. They couldn’t validate us simply by address, phone, date of birth. You’d think I was trying to break into Fort Knox. I started all over on the computer at home insuring we knew our pin, username name, on line user name password word and policy number. Then, finally talking to a claims clown, they said fill out the forms online and upload pictures. Again, more self help in this world, no claims adjuster coming out to inspect the vehicle. You are doing their work. Then once that is done, they will eventually contact you. Don’t try to get ahold of your claims adjuster, it’ll go to voicemail and they will eventually get back to you. The claim now is finally settled and paid out. I have since dropped them and moved to one of the two biggest car insurers for the state of Florida. Plus, who I moved to is much cheaper. I can now get ahold of someone on the phone to help us. As the CEO of USAA annually addresses all the people insured with them I can only think that he doesn’t have any idea what’s going on with his company. The letter to it’s members is a bragging compilation of what USAA continually does for it’s members. Most of us being military members. I am living proof the letter to us is incorrect. I subsequently would not insure my riding lawnmower with USAA or recommend them to a friend. More...

Unable to reach claims manager, took 6 claims out on my auto policy that I was t aware of when I was simply calling for inquiry with zero payouts yet it’s reporting on Lexus nexus as a claim. It’s preventing me from finding other insurance and I can’t get a hold of anyone to help me. Sending in formal complaint and continue working on resolving this issue. Also, quote for home was double than other insurance providers so a bundle is not a good option with usaa. Terrible rates and awful claims service. More...

Use to love having USAA for almost ten years or so, no notification of a late payment, thought auto draft was on, ding on my credit report.
