We have been there five or six times, the food is average, but being an owner at Sandestin it’s convenient. Recently Slick Lips has started charging a 20% mandatory up charge to eat in or carry out. This is added regardless of how poor or excellent the service is. The average food plus the 20% combined with the 2% Village of Baytowne Wharf special sales tax equals not worth it. If Slick Lips choses to go away from service based tipping that’s fine, they shouldn’t “hide it after the fact,” they should add 20% to their menu price and see what the free market does. More...

I would give this restaurant a zero. I just left there and ordered a Parmesan crusted chicken. I bit into a bone in what is supposed to be a boneless chicken breast and the manager took $8 off of my food. He replied I don’t know what the big deal is. He was rude and disrespectful. $1.50 for melted butter for your oyster’s! The menu says the fish sandwich is $19 on the menu. But then they offer you 3 different fishes so be prepared to pay for an up charge! A blackened grouper sandwich will end up costing you $30! Very misleading! Beers ring up two different prices and they automatically add a 20% tip. my family and i come to slick lips every year we come to town. specifically for the lobster rolls. this visit we found out they no longer serve the lobster rolls. this is a huge disappointment!! our waitress told us that lots of people have been asking for the lobster roll. on top of that they tack on 20% gratuity to the bill no matter how many people in your party. also found out by our waitress that the 20% gratuity doesnt all go to her and mentioned and additional tip would be appreciated. this will be my last visit to slick lips. We came in late, tired and nearly hangry. We were quickly seated and greeted by our server. I have Celiac so asked what my options were. Our server admitted he wasn't sure (it was his 2nd day and I hate I can't remember his name!) so he checked and returned just a few minutes later with some options. Little did I know I was about to enjoy one of the best pork chops I've ever had! (WISH I could have tried their award-winning gumbo!! <drooool>) They were quick, attentive and super helpful.
