I stopped by for an unannounced tour of the facility looking for a place to bring my dogs to day care. Everything was clean, organized, and the dogs currently there weren't showing any signs of stress or anxiety. Perfect place for my pups. We would absolutely recommend Julie and her team at SkyBlue kennels! In both Houston and Austin this is the only place we trust to leave our frenchie and have boarded him here four times now in the past three years. We rarely board him because we hate leaving him and when we do I am always a little nervous because we have had horrible experiences at other boarding facilities; one time he was attacked by another dog which left a gash and scar on his leg because his playful, in-your-face rambunctious nature can make other dogs aggressive sometimes. We just picked him up after a week stay at SkyBlue and like always, he looks well kept, happy and so tired like he played his little heart out!! We boarded both our dogs for the first time during the water ban. SkyBlue and their staff realty went WAY above and beyond running back and forth, boiling water, and keeping us posted on our dogs while we were out of state for a week. I've been sending my dog to SkyBlue Kennels since the day that Julie opened. As long as she is willing, I will continue to take my pup to her. I worked with her at her previous employer and I've always admired her passion for animals. It shines through every time that I drop my dog off and pick her up. That passion is one of the many reasons I trust her (and all the great staff members she has hand selected) with caring for my dog while I am traveling. I have been happily entrusting my dogs to the lovely people at SkyBlue Kennels for two years, and both dogs love it! They let you choose the single, or double kennel, so my dogs can hang together, and they always seem relaxed and calm when I return. The price is reasonable, they have a groomer on premises, and they give them a bath, so all are happy! They go beyond the call of duty, too! While I was recently in Mexico, my oldest dog started coughing, and they quickly called me, and took him to a vet, got medications, and paid for it, letting me pay them back when I returned. We left our furry little family member at Sky Blue over the July 4th weekend. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff was super professional and friendly. They made me and my dog (D-Bow) feel right at home almost immediately. We love the environment there and we enjoyed seeing the pictures of D-Bow playing with friends on their Facebook page. It was neat to see him having a good time from over 1000 miles away. They also offer a bath and nail clipping service that we took advantage of. Gypsy has always returned from kennels depressed, with sores, and once even with a highly questionable gash right by her nose. We are like the least overbearing dog owners out there, because dogs are dogs, not humans, but you love em all the same, so in consequence we have become anxious about kenneling her when out of town. Sky Blue has removed any and all anxiety we used to have, as I have never seen Gypsy, our little piebald Great Dane, so happy. It's like she went to summer camp or something. Incredible service for fantastic and very fair prices. She smelled great and her nails were well trimmed, and for the prices of those we did not hesitate to add it on to her stay because compared to our vet, Corner Vet, who charges $10 to use nail clippers (I was slack jawed and thought it was a real joke when they responded with $10 when I asked), this was literally 100% cheaper. Overall would give it more stars if I could. She stayed 2 nights, 3 days (pick up time was at 2 on Sunday), we added a bath and nail trim, brought a clean, happy, healthy dog home... all for $98. Very fair, and a deal I will make again. More...

Julie took care of my Shelties at another kennel. My dogs adore Julie and are not hesitant to be dropped off when they see her. I have not yet had occasion to use boarding facilities at SkyBlue, but I know that if Julie Jones is involved, the dogs will be well-loved and have every need met. Even though we haven't personally needed SkyBlue yet, I have referred several dogs of friends here. I am so so very excited I found SkyBlue Kennels. After previously having a horrific experience with another kennel in the Austin area and basically being told my dogs would never be able to return, I was incredibly stressed about taking my dogs any place else. Since I had no other option, I decided to take my chances. Long story short, I had the best experience at SkyBlue. My dogs did great and they were so happy when I picked them up with no signs of stress. Everyone there is amazing and kind. I LOVE SkyBlue!! Our dogs Trillie and Boozer came home this morning after their second stay with them, and they obviously had a great time. They were all smiles when we picked them up and both dogs have been asleep ALL DAY (My husky worn out It’s a miracle!) so they definitely played hard. Our usual Pflugerville kennel was full for Christmas week so called/emailed a few Austin places. After a few emails and visiting the site, I knew SkyBlue was the best place for our Nahla. I've never left my Goldie at a kennel before, but she has spent up to a 10 days with friends and family. She always comes home a little different, having learned a new behavior or outlook. Usually it is a positive change, but staying with my ex F.I.L. made her pretty insane—to be honest, anyone would feel like that after a week with him. It took more than a week for her to truly calm down and return to normal.

I was afraid that Goldie would develop a sort of prisoner mentality in a kennel—maybe becoming more protective of her food or toys, fabricating shanks and hiding them in her bed, etc.

MAYBE that could happen elsewhere, but definitely not at SkyBlue. In fact, the dog came home with a snooty, East-Coast nouveau-riche attitude. She thinks she spent the week at a resort, and can’t stop talking about her new friends from “the spa”, and about how at “the spa” they have dinner every day at 3:30 PM instead of supper at 8 PM.

Thank you, SkyBlue, for making my sweet girl feel like a rich b*#ch for a week! She is so calm and happy. And I can clearly see in your Saturday photos that she was having a ball with all those dogs. That is such great idea, and the photos are all so beautiful. More...

We followed Julie from a previous kennel she worked at, to SkyBlue and we had the greatest experience. I love how they constantly update you through Facebook with pictures of your dogs, playing and enjoying themselves. One thing that blew me away about this Kennel, is I sent an email asking a question about my dogs stay around 9pm. Within an hour I had a very detailed response back to me. I was blown away that Julie made it a point to take time out of her evening to get back to me and answer all my questions. Hands down the best kennel in Austin. In fact, Julie, Kelly and Rachel are some of the best people I've ever met. You can tell that they truly love animals and love what they do. Great rates, close to the airport, amazing staff, what more could you want!? These ladies know my dog and I before I finish giving them my first name. I had a hard time finding anywhere that would take my dog. Kona is 8 months old and not neutered. Skyblue had no issues taking my dog in fact they were excited to have him come! They are happy to have all types of dogs!  He had a great time and definitely got a ton of exercise.. he was tired when we got him home. That never happens! Just dropped my furry children off for daycare at SkyBlue Kennels.  They were through the door before I even had a chance to leash them up. ...they really LOVE it there!  They boarded over Christmas and had a wonderful time.  These folks really like dogs, and they know their clients.  FM969 is what MLK turns into just east of 183, so you can drop your pups and be downtown in about 15 minutes.  The rates are reasonable and the care is first class.  SkyBlue Kennels is situated on a large piece of land, so the dogs get plenty of room to run around.  I know I can trust them to care for my babies, so what more can you ask for?
